  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

Why are you playing Season 2 without importing the Season 1 saves?!?!

On a different note, PS3 seems to be getting a new bundled Assassin's Creed called the "Americas Collection", which includes AC III, IV and Liberation HD. It doesn't seem to be available for the 360.

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/ubisoft-assassin-s-creed-the-americas-collection-playstation-3-ubp30401025/10326304.aspx?path=1576af210558f99c5db3b0b2fff8993fen02
I already beat season one on my PS3, and I didn't want to have to play through season one again, because I have a huge backlog. Honestly, it doesn't seem to really make an impact on the story of season two, at least so far.

I might have to give the games another try. The first season was such a struggle to get through with all the problems it had.
Agreed, they did a much better job with the framerate stuttering, and I have heard the 1st season runs smoothly too.

How'd you guys get RBI Baseball for $5? I'd buy it at that price, but not at $10 since it's been really panned.

I'd love it they just took the original one one the NES with updated rosters. Classic.

It was a price mistake, it was showing up on everything for 5 buckaroos. They fixed it not too long after

Mass Effect - 4.99

Alice Madness Returns - 4.99

Dead Space - 5.09

Dead Island Riptide - 9.99

Dead Space™ 3 Awakened Add on - 4.99

Mass Effect seems a bit random though on that list lol

Also the Jack Skellington Costume for disney infinity -- I'm guessing Halloween sale incoming? (agreed Mass Effect seems random)

A new sale on Friday?  What is this sorcery!

Looks like we are getting a Halloween-themed sale like PSN (though I don't quite see how Mass Effect fits in).

Well I'm in for that after my confusion/disappointment Monday.

At least half the game you're killing space zombies so I'm assuming that's it. Definitely not a horror game as a whole but there are a lot of missions that do have that vibe though.

So this is a flash sale of some type?   If those prices are true, then I'm picking up Riptide. I had a blast playing Dead Island for 40 something hours so I would love to see what the sequel has in store for me.

Mass Effect, meanwhile, still sits in my backlog.

For anyone curious, Alice: Madness Returns is definitely worth it at that price.  The visuals are very impressive.  The platforming is occasionally challenging while staying fair.  It's a fun game, but it is a little light on replay value in my opinion. So yeah, for $5 it's a worth a play.  And if it interests you, you can also download American McGee's Alice for free from the marketplace and launch it through the menu of Madness Returns.

Yeah. It's a really cool game in a lot of ways, but it's sooo long and repetitious that by the end you're just kind of tired of everything. Replaying it again on the hardest difficulty for the 1000 was brutal. Not because of the difficulty so much but just because the game is so repetitive.

I just finished playing through the original last week, I enjoyed it. It can be a bit janky but it's not that bad for a game that was release in 2000 I think.

Riptide is tempting, and $10 is the new lowest sale price (was $12 back in May).

Play Mass Effect! That series is in my top 10 games ever list, ending notwithstanding.

Damn i wanna get riptide cause i have the disc version and my discdrive blew out awhile ago

and the fact that its under 4 gigs is a plus for me, but idk for me 10 bucks seems a bit to much for me

Dead Space might be a pick up for me but hopefully they add more games to this sale

Now here's a game that needs to go on sale. Id def pick this one up for ~$5. Im missing some cheeves because I wasnt in the mood to play the game 3 damn times. 1 play around with cumulative cheeves for difficulty playthroughs please? No, not here 1 play through, each difficulty for a cheeve... At least I can say I have an achievements for the big boner.

Visually beautiful and def worth the price. I'll agree that platforming is very well done. Naturally some camera and control issues but nothing too horrible. Tons of collectibles, I actually have a lot more to go back and do in the game after beating it. I'll go ahead and throw in with what Ryuukishi said. You're getting your moneys worth, but at times you'll play levels and wonder how long this will go on. Levels are huge and not in the good "I want to explore" kind of way. You'll stop looking for collectibles and secrets just to finish the level. By the end you will be tired of the game. Actually I think by the time you get to the creepy doll level you might be worn out. I dont even remember when that was, but I remember wondering when it would end.

2 things, just got out of work. To tired and lazy to look through the pages haha

1. Any X1 games go on sale today?

2. *Solved*

Yeah. It's a really cool game in a lot of ways, but it's sooo long and repetitious that by the end you're just kind of tired of everything. Replaying it again on the hardest difficulty for the 1000 was brutal. Not because of the difficulty so much but just because the game is so repetitive.
How long are we talking about? $5 has me interested but I've never heard ANYTHING about this game, and I'd rather not add to my backlog a game that's too long.

The story mode is like 14 hours long. Like Ryu said the game is very repetitive. I couldn't even finish the game, shit got so boring half way through. I get bored easily though so don't let that sway you away from getting it. Worth $5 for sure though.

Even better. Not sure when I'll get to that and Assassin's Creed.

4 GB? Fantastic. I just made 20 GB of free space.

Don't know if anyone had noticed, but on the 360 dashboard it says spend $50 get $5 back.
Flash sale? Cashback after spending x amount? Is Xbox turning into Sony? Is this revenge for Sony using the Sunset Overdrive font?

Yeah, 14 hours sounds right. Thing is, there's only like 6 levels. And in each one, within the first 30 minutes you've pretty much seen all of the scenery and gameplay ideas that that level has to offer. Then it just goes on for another 2 hours. It just could have been a lot shorter and still conveyed the same story and experience.

Excellent description of what's "wrong" with this game. It looks amazing and clearly a lot of design and thought went into the scenery. I try to get back into it every few months but the level length Is brutal.

Just checked my raptr stats on it: 16 hours and 33 out of 50 cheeves. The cheeves include the original alice game too, which was too janky for me to play. First half of the game I think I was over eager & really searched for collectibles and secrets, then the repetition sank in.

Its really hard to talk about this game because it does have so many positives, yet those positives become negatives. Platforming and puzzle solving: great combinations but when over done can really hurt. Which is why repetition has been mentioned so often in our complaints. The typical switch puzzles to open new areas? Usually 3 switches at most in many games. Alice will give you at least 5 and they are spread as far apart from each other as possible. So you are crisscrossing one stage at least 5 times. Once again I default on creepy doll level, I swear I went through that dollhouse for 3 hours by itself.

Im also going to throw the sound in there too, not for the music but collectible hunting. After a while I think I heard pig snorts everywhere. After spending x amount of minutes searching for a pig snout and not finding it, that adds to the frustration as well. Its a great audio clue but it did get a bit overpowering.

Having said all this, I have a strong urge to go back and play the game some more...

Damn, this game sounds interesting to play, while at the same time, sounds like it would be a chore to finish. From looking at some of the gameplay videos on Youtube, it does seem like the game gets repetitive, and the levels seem to be a lot longer than necessary.

I just checked and saw that my US account has ~$15 left from the GS Promo, so I may wait and see what else comes up before deciding on this.

I haven't played my 360 in months

Would it be worth booting back up for Dead Space 1 and Alice? I've played DS 2 and 3 and quite enjoyed them.

Did anyone do the transfer in Madden 25 of MUT stuff from the 360 version to the XBO version?

I got a bunch of pro pack codes from 12 month XBL cards in a GS dumpster today, but they only work with the 360 version.  Does anyone know if I "rent" the 360 version from GS if I can enter them then transfer the stuff from the packs to the XBO version?

I did. Yes as long as this will be your first time doing the transfer. SInce its one time only

I picked up Alice and played through level 1 last night. Eyepot was a bitch.....I am happy so far with the game. I also played a little of the first, and had a blast reliving some old school gaming. It reminded me of Beyond Good and Evil. Certainly worth $5.
