Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Trials Fusion: Welcome to the Abyss dlc is showing up free right now through xbldb. Normally $4.99 right? I thought it was only free if you're a season pass holder. Just snatched it up from xbox.com
It's showing up twice on the console, one $4.99 and one free. When I try to buy the free one it added it to my download history but errors before any of it downloads. Thanks though!
I suspect the free one is supposed to be the season pass copy, since both it and the paid copy were posted today. When pass content is added to the marketplace, there are generally 2 entries made, one for the paid copy and another for pass owners, which is why the DLCs aren't marked as "already purchased" for pass owners. Someone probably just mistakenly made the pass copy visible on the marketplace. There are probably other protections in place to prevent non-pass downloading (I also got a can't download this message), and it'll probably disappear soon.

I've got the ultimate edition of injustice and I'm wondering if I'm missing out on anything that I might need to download. I love the game but I love nether realm studios. It's not for everyone.

You are probably right. Similar thing happened (still happening?) with Killer Instinct 2 Classic.

Not sure why the Destiny comparison's necessary. I played this game a few nights during the week I owned a PS4 before Destiny launched. I've never played it since then.
The reason for the comparison is that most players that play Destiny that have tried this past the tutorial feel ripped off by Destiny. This game is a great game that I would not mind putting money INTO. Everyone who has a XBOne should play this and get past the first boss before giving up on it.

Cheers

Ayy did anyone else get this message

Can anyone definitively say what happens to Microsoft Point cards that weren't redeemed before they changed the currency to face dollar value? I found a bunch of 800 MSP codes I can't remember if I redeemed. I tried one, Xbox tells me it was redeemed already, I tried two more, the system tells me they are invalid. So I'm thinking I never used those two codes and I'm out the money now.
It's not like you can do anything about it now anyway. If they don't work just toss the cards away and move on.

Speaking of great free Xbox One games...

We finally posted my Warframe review today. It's a killer alternative to Destiny that costs nothing, so everybody needs to give it a try.

The ultimate edition comes with all paid DLC but not for the 5 app exclusive unlock costumes. The ultimate edition also has the costumes that originally required certain conditions to unlock be already unlocked from the start such as yellow lantern Hal Jordan, etc.

A while ago I had been given a free month of Xbox Live by Microsoft because I was one of the people affected by Cloud Storage issues. I don't even use Cloud, but apparently I would have had issues if I did so there's my "reward". I guess the same happened to you. Earlier today I was wondering why did my Xbox Live Rewards balance get boosted by 6000 or so points in a day, then I realized they probably just counted the day one purchase for Destiny on 360 (70 Euros here in Europe) and the other smaller stuff I bought. At first I thought it might be related to the thing you posted but I guess it isn't, though I wouldn't mind some extra bucks to spend.

What do you mean? I could at least have a good cry about it and continue to harbor resentment towards Microsoft about making arbitrary changes that only add confusion. (I'm still bitter about not being able to shop on xbox.com with credit.)

A lot of confusion regarding expiration of points. As I understand, and I hope I'm right, the cards shouldn't expire so you should be able to redeem the points whenever you want (or at least until MS decides they won't accept them anymore). Once redeemed, you have one year to use the points.

I still have MSP Cards from Target's Black Friday. I'll redeem one when I get home and update everyone.

Please do. I think I'm out of luck since my first code said it was redeemed and the others came up invalid. If I used them already, they should have come up as redeemed also.

There's a DLC called the Lockdown Pack that comes with those skins, if you're interested in them and lack a device that can play the mobile game.

What do you mean? I could at least have a good cry about it and continue to harbor resentment towards Microsoft about making arbitrary changes that only add confusion. (I'm still bitter about not being able to shop on xbox.com with credit.)
Have you considered messaging Microsoft about them? Maybe they'll explain if the codes have been used, and if not give you a credit for them. Not likely, but worth a shot so you don't lose money.

Playing Battlefield Vietnam is fun...except for when people just stay back and then scream about losing. It's like a football team that stays behind their own goal and wonders how the other team keeps scoring.

At least that's better than Payday 2 where you can't finish a match because one idiot doesn't seem to get the fact that when the mission is over, you're supposed to meet back at the exit location. I've lost missions when it was supposed to be over because I got gunned down waiting for them to get a clue. Many times, I just wait for them to go into custody so I can beat the mission.

Has anyone played Mars War Logs on Extreme? This shit is broken, enemies auto dodge attacks after 3 hits and they hit you despite rolling out of the way an entire second ago (they are literally hitting air, making it bleed and I take damage). Has anyone finished this mode? It seems doable, just really tedious, especially since you do so little damage.

You need to invest most of your skill points in the renegade tree. Upgrading sand throw and the ability with the chance to wound enemies helps greatly. Also use stealth to sneak up behind enemies and take them out with a single hit when the wander away from the group. It will only take out human enemies and the smaller moles in a single hit, but it will usually take off over half the hp of the larger animal enemies. There is a great guide over on xboxachivements.com that tells you exactly what you should level up. Make sure you are searching everywhere for scrap to make better parts for your weapons and armor. Never buy gear from merchants since you can find good ones just from searching around and doing side quests. Using and crafting traps will sometimes help out in some frustrating battles.

Its a pretty solid stealth game. Not bad at all. Its from the guys who did that Game of Thrones game, this one is way better though. Pretty fun
Yeah... games that come out with no fanfare, are too big to be cheap games but not budgeted enough to be full priced retail games, then get average at best reviews doesn't spell a winning formula. Which is a shame because it looks neat in screenshots and I like the concept.

I'll redeem one when I get home and update everyone.
ok, I entered the code and it's still valid.

whitereflection - if it comes up invalid check to make sure the code was entered correctly. This could be one of the reasons you can't redeem it. If the code was entered correctly and you still have the receipt it could mean the card wasn't activated. This happened to someone else on here and they had to go back to the store to activate it. I don't know how long it's been since you purchased it, or whether if the store can still do something to activate it but you can always try. If they can't, give MS a call. Don't give up to easily. Good Luck.

Not sure why the Destiny comparison's necessary. I played this game a few nights during the week I owned a PS4 before Destiny launched. I've never played it since then.
What Bob said. The games really have quite a lot in common - it's weird how people who prefer Destiny don't seem to pick up on the similarities. Obviously, they're not clones though and have plenty of differences as well.

I'm still hoping Banjo-Tooie XBL will go on sale someday again. I seem to miss out on it every time it does.

So, just as it was with Destiny, buying the 360 digital version of COD: Advanced Warfare will allow you to download the Xbox One version as well, free of charge. Same happens between PS3 and PS4. Very good news because that's one of the reasons I was on the fence about it, since I'm planning to move to One around Christmas and all. More publishers and developers should do the free upgrade thing, because at this point I am not buying pretty much anything unless I know that I can upgrade for free (or for a very limited price - see Minecraft, Ghosts or Black Flag) to the current-gen consoles. For example I'd easily shell out money for the largely inferior version of Forza Horizon 2 if I could then play the best one, but since there is no such thing I'm "forced" to wait for a sale on X1.

I wish it wasn't a digital-only offer. I can't justify spending $60 on Call of Duty at launch, especially after Ghosts.

The offer is valid until March 31st, 2015. Given the Ghosts precedent it's safe to say it'll be around 40$ by that time multiple times, albeit that is still more than you could find a physical copy for.

That's awesome! I will have to cash in on that deal. I like this digital upgrading

I'm actually surprised how Activision brought this into play out of the AAA publishers, given their greedy ways. Mind you, there's still the 50$ Season Pass for the game and I assume there'll be customization DLCs not included in it (just like the previous 2 CODs), but still, a free copy of the game? Why thank you, that also makes it so I can play with my friends who didn't move to One and those who already did as well. Given it's 60 FPS on both consoles it won't make a terrific difference in gameplay anyway, albeit at this point I'll play the campaign on One for better looking Michael Bay moments.

Anyone else get an email from Xbox Rewards saying this? when I click the link in the email it just takes me to the "my mission" page on the website, so I'm not really sure what the offer is exactly.

There’s no better way to enjoy the new Xbox One than with friends, so why not share the experience and split 50,000 Rewards Credits? Half for you, and half for the first friend to complete this offer. It’s one of our biggest offers – and it’s handpicked for loyal Xbox Live Rewards members like you!

Upgrade to an Xbox One between October 7 and October 26 and share the fun!

Ya I just got it as well. I sent the offer to my main alternate account and just signed up that account to my rewards. 50 bucks in Xbox cash when I get home next week.
