Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Question about battlefield bad company 2, the onslaught mode dlc it's a mision co-op halo 4 type? and the vietnam is only competitive mp maps?

I'm really trying to give Destiny a fair shake but I just don't see myself liking the actual game.  Setting is really neat but I don't care for the rest.  Maybe if it wasn't an FPS.  Like I got to that early fight against an archon I think it was and it was the stupidest thing ever that immediately reminded me of trying to play Borderlands ever and how that was just endless dumb fights that were more cheese down this guy's big HP bar.

For some reason while playing PvZ just now it made me miss CoD4.

Which made me think: how much of a killing could Activision make releasing a "Modern Warfare Trilogy" for XBO/PS4?

If the perspective and excessive boss health are your main issues, you might prefer Warframe. It's free and very good - I just reviewed the Xbox One version last week.

It doesn't say anything about having to be gold. The account I used has been silver for years. All I can say is make sure the account is not signed up for my rewards. I quickly glanced over the terms and it doesn't say anything about having to be gold, just the console has to be switched to home console when you sign in with the second account.
When I try to refer "my friend", it stats this is not an Xbox Live member. Please try referring another Xbox Live friend!

the friend has the one month trail gold going already.

I can only tell you what I did. It might not work for every one. Try seeing if another friend gets an invite.

Yes.

Onslaught - Up to 4 players battle through AI enemies, capturing posts with increasing difficulty.

Vietnam - A mod to the multiplayer part of the game with new maps and weapons. Fortunately your level unlocks from the standard multiplayer carry over to Vietnam, so you're not restarting all over again.

That Divekick trailer thing has an attack called Spooby PLS?

That's it, I'm buying it.

Shameless self-advertising incoming:

hey guys I need some advice. Tried Google but I dont think I'm getting the right answer.

OK so my cousin bought an Xbox One last year. I signed into HIS console with my profile so we can play certain co-op local games in the future. The problem is that his brother does not have a profile so he uses my profile to play games like NBA 2K15, which, as you can guess, causes havoc for me when I'm on my console at home and I keep getting fucking signed out randomly in the middle of playing a game. Is there a way for my cousin to create his own personal profile on his brothers console so he doesnt have to use mine?? The brother who owns the console has Xbox Live, can he create one for him?

Set your Xbox One as the home console. If you don't have one, then just tell him to delete your profile off his One.

my Xbox One is already designated as the home console, I just checked. But I'm still getting signed out on my console every time we're both online together, because his brother uses my profile to play NBA 2K15. If he deletes my profile from his Xbox One, how will his brother play games? Does he have to create his own profile?

ok but can he play offline since he doesn't have Xbox Live? He barely plays games at all, all he fucking plays is NBA 2K.

The 360 was so simple. Create a generic GT, play offline, boom. I dont know how the Xbox One works.

Have him create his own profile or just sign in as a guest. Also might want to consider putting a code requirement for sign in if you get disconnected like that.

The 360 was so simple. Create a generic GT, play offline, boom. I dont know how the Xbox One works.
I think he can create a GT and play online on that console as well. There is something about one gold account needed for anyone who plays on that device, but I do not know how it works.

edit: I think someone with gold/your friend needs to set that console as his home console. Then anyone on that box can use gold on their gamertag as long as he keeps his subscription up.

I'm liking Alien Isolation a lot more than I thought I would. It was giving me a headache and I almost quit after 20 minutes, but stuck with it.

Obvious comparison is to Outlast. I liked Outlast and thought it was scary, but once you know the enemies' paths it stopped being scary. You can run right by everybody. In Alien, the alien seems really random. Which can be frustrating and amazing at the same time. Sometimes the alien doesn't even show up until you get killed by something else and are replaying the level.

Maybe there is a way to predict the alien's movement and when it will show up. Several hours into the game, I haven't figured it out yet.

Hey, if any of you like weird Japanese games, D4 is a perfect fit. I picked it up today at the advice of a friend and I think it may be one of my favorite games this year. I finished it and it only left me wanting more (it's episodic).

I played it with a controller, as I lack a Kinect, and it was still fantastic (though the QTE were a bit awkward at times).

Trying to properly explain the plot really wouldn't do it justice, but you're a time travelling detective trying to solve your wife's murder before it occurs. Then it gets weird.

It's similar to a Telltale game, though it's much wackier and decision making isn't really a feature. Finishing all three episodes isn't quite the end, as you ran replay episodes to find collectibles you didn't notice, doing sidequests you didn't know existed, trying to get a better overall score for the level, etc. And you can customize the main character +some supporting characters.

However, if you don't like weird Japanese things, episodic releases, or QTE, you are going to despise this game and should probably avoid it.

Anyone else get an email from Xbox Rewards saying this? when I click the link in the email it just takes me to the "my mission" page on the website, so I'm not really sure what the offer is exactly.
There’s no better way to enjoy the new Xbox One than with friends, so why not share the experience and split 50,000 Rewards Credits? Half for you, and half for the first friend to complete this offer. It’s one of our biggest offers – and it’s handpicked for loyal Xbox Live Rewards members like you!
Upgrade to an Xbox One between October 7 and October 26 and share the fun!

I also got this and have not reffered anyone yet so if anyone is interested PM me your gamertag and make sure your signed up for Xbox rewards and that your going to be getting an Xbox One by 10/26.

I got the email as well, so perhaps that's what I'm doing wrong? Tried inviting my spare account, but does it have to also be a rewards member before I invite it?

The very first review I saw for it was from IGN, they claim that the alien's behavior is programmed to be absolutely random, where he'll pop-up and the paths he takes; they said it's simultaneously the game's best feature and it's worst feature because it can make the game unbelievably unfair and torturous. That alone made me want to wait until it at least hits the $30 range.

And then there's the glitches:

From my undestanding both accounts have to be signed up for the rewards program to work.
Okay looks like i might be wrong, i just tried to add someone and it said they were inelligible, and these are required steps from the instructions it says you must complete these after getting invite:

1. Sign up for Xbox Live Rewards
2. Purchase an Xbox One
3. Log in to your Xbox One with your Gamertag
4. Be the first friend and you'll enjoy 25,000 Rewards Credits!

So it may be that you can,t have rewards account already. Not positive though, anyone have any luck with this that wants to share what worked for them would be appreciated.

And i am still looking for someone to refer, hit me up if you want to try and figure it out with me.
Thanks,
TJ

My friend is streaming Fibbage if anybody wants to play with. Go to www.fibbage.com and enter the room code in the bottom right of the screen. You can use your phone or web browser. The game just started having connection problems, but it should be back up in a few minutes.

Stream is over. I'm definitely buying this game next week to stream myself.

Something I just thought of. Can't speak for anyone else, but since two of my alternate accounts are Japanese and some region I forget, that may be why I've had trouble. If I don't forget, I'll make a new alternate this weekend and see if I can get that one to join.

About how long does it take to complete Blackgate?  I played about 2 hours and it listed me at 40%.  Aside from searching for collectibles I dont see this game dragging out much longer.  Even though there are some control issues with the fighting; I have to admit this was much better than the trial. That trial was a poor reflection and I almost passed it up because of that.

Also everyone's concerns about the map had me worried.  Was it worse than this before? I actually find it useful.  Only issue I have is some of the ? on the map dont make sense. But usually that just means I need X gadget for later.

It took me 7 hours going real slow, looking for clues and that. Game is fun but forces you to do 3 playthroughs in order to get all achievmnts if that's your thing. It's a cheap way to extend its length. I'd prefer to unlock a hard difficulty for a second playthrough. That would be more honest.

In my attempt to catch up with Assassin's Creed, I finally finished Brotherhood. Still gotta get a couple collectibles (not many), plus I'm skipping multiplayer and DLC (unless an insane sale comes up on a latter). Revelations is next. About Brotherhood, one comment pops to mind:

WHAT THE ACTUAL fuck IS WITH THAT ENDING?

Alien: Isolation ended up not an easy finish in a weekend kind of game. Much better than I was expecting. Since I probably won't get a chance to finish it, I have a very spoilery question to those that completed the game.

I'm not too far after the part where you trap the alien and are pissed about being used as bait. Does the alien come back? Is there a new alien that shows up?

I feel that way after every ass creed game.

Holy Jesus did that ending to Shadow Of Mordor suck a giant dick. The plot literally just went from 0 to ludicrous speed after Mission 15 in the main story line. What horrible, rushed, sloppy writing. It was pretty decent up until that point.

Good game, had fun with it, but I'm not even gonna bother getting 100% of the achievements. Got 95% but I seriously can't be bothered to run around trying to dominate orcs for another few hours.

Still the best LOTR game in like 5-6 years though, but man, I can't believe they approved the last few missions.

Thanks for the non spillers, that is disappointing I'm having fun so far. Just opened up the second map, does that mean I'm only half way through?

Yes. You will enjoy the rest of the game, but be prepared for some "wtf just happened? how did we go from *here* to here*??" moments.

Who plays mordor for story never seen lotr so I can't follow it nemesis system is fun
Yeah, who plays a game based on a franchise with some of the greatest storytelling ever told and expects a coherent plot that doesn't fall off the rails towards the end? Pffft. Silly me.
