Speaking of Battlefield, does the multiplayer improve with each Battlefield game? I played some of it in 2 and went back to Bad Company 1 and they are all versus modes.

And like 2, I'm lucky to last 10 seconds without getting killed; it's also hard to see enemies on screen in this game compared to Call of Duty. The campaign isn't bad but I would have liked the option to have some multiplayer/co-op option for it.

When you say 2, do you mean Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 2? Bad Company 2 does have a cooperative mode...sort of. Onslaught Mode is 4 players against AI while you work to capture territories. It's hard on the highest difficulty if your team does not work well together.

If Onslaught interests you, it was on sale when the game was free to Gold (hopefully you bought it). It's lame because it's basically an unlock code that is overpriced. There was someone on here asking for help in it a few pages back. Maybe they still need help?

Didn't someone post a link last week to a press page of Gears of War images. What was that even for? Did they announce a trilogy/saga collection?

Maybe they won't announce a Gears of War Trilogy Remaster (if there is one) until long after the Master Chief Collection is out, so to not steal the hype and potential system sales.

It also had two campaigns in one, with 24 dude yelling at you in one part, and Air Force One baddie yelling at you in the other. I really liked how they had those mini history clips prior to the battles, so it gave you some context. It would have been really neat if they tried to do that in other historical games, where you could actually educate people about history and the battles they're in or recreating, while also keeping it entertaining. Battlefield Vietnam does a much simpler, but similar, setup with the battles there.

It just seems appropriate to inform if you're capitalizing off of the sacrifices of those in history.

Aren't you the guy that had trouble playing through a halo game on Normal? Something tells me Battlefield multiplayer might be trouble for you...

Why not? It had so many memorable lines by Mr.Freeze like:
"Let's kick some ice!", "Ice to see you!", "Freeze in Hell, Batman!". And my favorite line

"Allow me to break the ice. My name is Freeze. Learn it well. For it's the chilling sound of your doom."

But in all seriousness I actually like Batman Forever.

It's exactly like the 360 version. The only difference (and 360 version had this patched in) is all cards are now unlockable in game. There are no longer premium boosters, and such cards are now unlockable by winning via multiplayer.

It's exactly like the 360 version. The only difference (and 360 version had this patched in) is all cards are now unlockable in game. There are no longer premium boosters, and such cards are now unlockable by winning via multiplayer.

Just the two on console (although Bad Company 2 was on PC as well). They're spinoffs, just like next year's Hardline.

Reach would be right up your alley, Firefight is a blast to play. You can download custom game modes others have made as well, just to change it up.

 
The Battlefield Bad Company campaign is getting more boring as I progress in it. I bet there's a Youtube video of someone playing most of this game without killing anyone since many objectives say you have to reach a point on the map. I'll have multiple people shooting at me yet once I get to the red smoke, cutscene wipes them out.

Yeah I never did decide if I was going to play ODST or Reach next. I'm getting better at Halo, but I think watching others on multiplayer would benefit.

In between that, I went and revisited DOOM to play levels I haven't beaten yet. I'm on the third world (Hell?) and playing on the third difficulty. Very hard but also very fun. Apparently this has multiplayer too ... but no one is using it. 

 
So I just got a very bizarre survey from MS/Xbox on my Oman Wars account.

It was asking me to rate a bunch of different Xbox One games, including AC U, Halo MCC, GTA V, Evolve, The Crew, and several others that aren't out.

It was asking if I thought they were fun to play, and a bunch of other things.

 
I finally figured out why there is a sale on Sonic the Hedgehog games - Sonic Boom, the new Sonic animated series, premieres on Cartoon Network this morning at 7 a.m. E.S.T.  Looking forward to it!  I bought the Sonic Genesis game and Episodes 1 and 2 when I purchased Deus Ex yesterday.  I want to buy Sonic Adventure 2, but my obsessive compulsive nature won't let me buy Adventure 2 without also buying Adventure 1, which is also $4.99.  I don't think that Adventure 1's $4.99 is a sale price, though.

 
I really kinda want to pick up Adventure 2...  I played it on the GCN back when, and it was fun (except for Knuckles, Tails, Amy, etc.)  Thank goodness there was no Big the Cat because I would've shot something.  Adventure 1 is unplayable for me just for that character.

 
Off topic, I watched Sonic Boom this morning. The CGI was great, but the format left a lot to be desired. Imagine if Sonic played out like a sitcom. In the second episode, Dr. Eggman and his henchmen moved in with Sonic and Tails and they watched late-night TV together while sitting on the couch. Sadly, I'm not making this up.
 
Yeah, we knew about that all a while back. I'm sure they're going for that sort of format that Adventure Time has popularized that CN seems to use for all their shows now.

Naw I got this survey on my girl's account but it hardly get use. I downloaded a free Avatar item for it recently though.

 
I finally played some of The Crew beta this afternoon. I hate that the route indicator is above you and not on the ground. The story is also kind of weird and every character is a cliche. It basically feels like a PS2 era game, but whatever, I enjoyed the FreeDrive portion of it. I even drove from New York City to Los Angeles. A few notes on that:

  • It takes a looooooong time to drive from NYC to LA
  • The cops are dicks. I hadn't hit anything in like 20 miles, yet I got chased down and arrested in Jackson fuck ing Hole. 
  • People still make movements like they're dodging your car when you hit them.
  • Animals are harder to hit than humans.
  • I rolled my Focus RS after hitting a sequoia while Lorde's "Royals" played on the radio station. Surreal, really.
  • It takes a really, reeeeaaally long time to drive from NYC to LA.

Seeing as it's 15 GB you would really think you would just be able to download the update without pre-ordering the digital version. Would probably reduce load on the servers and let people get playing quicker. Not like just putting it up on the store would compromise anything.

The problem is that its up as a patch and not dlc. If you look in the store, the game size is listed as 59gb now.

I know, I'm just saying you would think it would be in everyone's best interest to have set it up so everyone could have pre-loaded it. Probably could have put up something that would "install" the game and download the patch. Maybe the OS isn't quite set up for that but these things are probably going to keep growing so hopefully they start considering it.

Or just program the game like battlefield where it has the patch as dlc and it pro.pts you to download when you launch the game if you don't already have it
 
So I bought that $.99 DLC for Darksiders 2 two weeks back and have never received any rewards credit to my account.  I guess that means that DLC must be achievement related?  Or of a certain price or size? 

Anyway, just noting it here for future Games With Gold titles so that people don't have this happen to them.

 
Speaking of Rewards, does anyone know if buying stuff with a credit card or pre-paid MS cards makes a difference? Almost a week passed since I picked up Advanced Warfare digitally and it still didn't give me the 6% rebate, and this was done with MS credit - last time around I bought something digitally on release day (Destiny) I paid with credit card and I seem to recall a faster increase in my points balance last time around. Needless to say I also believe I'm still missing the extra Rewards weapons as well.

Do you mean the rebate from MyVIP? The credits we earn from that are only turned into pending credits once a month. What we earned up to the end of the previous month is usually calculated around this time, and does not include what we spent in the first week or so of the new month.

So you won't see the MyVIP rebate on Advanced Warfare until a month from now. The increase in pending points shortly after your Destiny purchase was probably the rebate for what you spent in August. I just checked, I do have my October rebate. You should have pending points that reflect what you bought last month.

Paying with pre-paid cards is fine for MyVIP/MyAchievements.

That is what I needed to know, thanks for clearing that up. Since they changed the Rewards system I often don't know what's going on.

 
So I finally got around to trying out the online part of cod:aw and I keep getting this error message after it says connecting to live:
"error: the call of duty advanced warfare service is not available at this time. Please try again later"

Has anyone else gotten this message? Or is it just me

360 or XBO? I just tried getting on it on XBO and had no problems.

Is tonight retard night on Madden? I played two straight guys who used only one play almost the entire game on offense.
