Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

About tax, I have been charged tax on certain purchases but not others. I believe it depends on where the points came from. The converted points I had did not get charged, but points I got from a game and points added after the conversion were charged.

I almost bit on a 5tb hard drive but i had a spare 1tb drive kicking around. Hoping to get a year or two out of that and when it is time to upgrade a 5tb hard drive should be much cheaper. The only downside is that ill have to redownload a tb worth of games when that day comes unless there's a tranfer system

lol i dont know how much im need that the problem cause i want something that i can get now and not have to worry about it anymore im trying to plan for the next couple years lol do decent hard drives usually go on sale pretty often throughout the whole year? cause i dont need one now and probably no time soon just trying to figure out if with black friday weekend if im cheaper just getting one now
5TB is a good long term solution. I'm almost full up on my 500gb right now and I don't even have that many games installed. I think a standard 2TB drive is a lot cheaper though and will hold you over for at least a couple years and by then a 5TB drive will be a lot cheaper.

I've got a 4 TB, and a shitload of games, and still only using 12.5% of the space on it.

will a 3tb one like this be better then for $80? http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Canvio-Desktop-External-HDWC130XK3J1/dp/B008DW976A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417306961&sr=8-1&keywords=HDWC130XK3J1

or how often does Hardrives usually go on sale? cause the ones with it own power supply is the best for long term use right? i have two 500gb mypassport portable harddrives that never been used since they are usb power i dont want to put to much work on the xbox one.

and is toshiba a reliable harddrive brand?

sorry so many questions just never bought a external hard drive before and dont want to waste any money and i dont need one now and probably wont for months so am i better off waiting if hard drives are on sale quite often?

Both work but AC if you have the choice.
AC better cause it dont overwork the xbox right?

will this AC one probably be the best choice then? cause i picked it up already but just want to make sure i get the right one before everyone sales are over http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/857122/Toshiba-Canvio-Desk-Desktop-External-USB/?cm_mmc=Affiliates-_-CJ-_-2617611-_-11272891

it a toshiba 3TB Desktop External with AC for $79.99 so will this probably be the lowest price for a while on one like this?

State of Decay

Skate 1, 2, or 3 (not sure if any are still online)

What do you guys think?
i got skate 1-3... Played 1 Servers are off so any online achievements you cant get .. havent got to play 2 yet and no room for 3.. its a lil harder if your use to tony hawk games your using the analogs to do tricks on these games..

Seems like quite a deal to me. I just bought a Rosewill USB 3 enclosure on NewEgg for $30 since I have a spare 3TB drive laying around, but I like Toshiba drives and think you did well there for only $80. Only minor negative I see is the 5700rpm spindle speed but I'm pretty sure that's native X1 speed so no worries.

Gears of War 2 is now $19.99 and Xbox support won't tell me a damn thing. I thought the deals would go until December 1st?

I've never heard of a 5700 RPM drive before. Presumably that's a typo and it's 5400. 7200 would be better but a USB 3.0 5400 should still be faster than the internal drive on Le 'Bone because the internal bus the HDD is on is slower than USB 3.0.

I'd been waiting on them to fix this as well. Even had my own unhelpful chat with a representative on Friday. It looks like it is fixed though. Just snagged it for $4.99.

I wonder if the Titanfal sale might boost the online numbers. Have it on PC, but haven't wanted to play it since launch.

Just ordered a Xbox One in the refurb deal with the $100 off for trading in a 360.

Good thing I checked this thread as I would have missed out on Volgarr and Chariot. Started my 1 month trial today and grabbed both. My assumptions is that the games with gold thing works like PS+ where you get access as long as you are gold. If your sub runs out you get access again once you resub. So even though I got the games for free on the trial, if I add a 12 month code to my account I will still get access to Volgarr and Chariot. That seems right to me.

Microsoft Standard Time is different than the time we all live by, which means these deals can end whenever the hell they want it to end.
MS informed me they use Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) which is 8 hours ahead of Pacific so at the earliest deals would end 4PM PST. Adjust for your time zone accordingly.

Nope. You own the games once you download. Even if you cancel live the games are yours, which is pretty cool

This is partially true. GwG for 360 works the way you say. GwG for XBone are only available as long as your gold membership is active. They stay on your box but are not playable. You don't lose any progress or anything and can pick up where you left off if you re-up gold. At least that's my understanding.

Edit: Derp, I type too much, so always end up being the last to post...

I have noted in the OP that XB1 games can be added to an account with a trial (i.e., something under 1 month). Is that still true?
I believe so, you just can't play them without actually having gold. It still shows up as "Purchased on ***" Although, I couldn't get Volgarr to work with my 3 month sub this month through xbox.com while the 360 games did work. I didn't try for it too hard since I don't think I'll ever play the game anyway.

Edit: Oh sorry, I don't think you could ever get the GwG games with any of the trials less than 1 month, correct me if I'm wrong.

1) We all think that the Black Friday sales run through Monday, not until Monday?

2) I want a Skate game, but really only want one. Which one should I get?

According to Major Nelson the sales run through Monday.

Well, in 5 hours or so Cyber Monday sales will go live, because I hope they'll do it again this year :) Let's see what they have in store for us.

Thinking of getting:
Ultra Street Fighter IV
State of Decay
Skate 1, 2, or 3 (not sure if any are still online)

What do you guys think?
If you have (or have any plans to get) an X1 ever, State of Decay: Year One has been announced for sometime in 2015, set to include all of the DLC modes and some of the more interesting features of the bigger DLC, Lifeline, will be included in the main game.

Don't get me wrong, I've dumped 170 hrs into SoD, so it's obviously enjoyable IMO, but if given the opportunity, do it all in the better version if you ever have your targets set on the 'Bone.

Thanks for the info! I just got a One, so I guess I'll hold out. How the other games on my list?

Since these prices are good through Monday, should we assume that there will be no Cyber Monday sale? I can only get one game now, and was holding out for a sale on either Forza Horizon 2 or Dead Rising 3... But I don't want to miss out on the current deals if that's not going to happen.

I don't think I've seen anything official about there being cyber monday deals, just speculation/people assuming they would happen. I'd guess there won't be.

If anyone is on the fence on buying Shadows of Mordor, I'd say go ahead and grab it while it's on sale. I actually got the disc version from Amazon and played a couple hours yesterday. As an Assassin's Creed fan who is burnt on the current AC games, I really like Mordor. Very similar to AC but a bit different in little / better ways. The Nemesis system is pretty cool and adds some interesting gameplay.

On another note, Titanfall Deluxe ed. still shows up at $12.50 for me. Guess it will be that price till end of BF sales.

I'd also guess there won't be a special Cyber Monday thing. Likely you'll see the usual weekly deals flip tomorrow afternoon/evening (the timing of new sales hasn't been consistent recently).

So when people see sales drop tomorrow, it likely has nothing to do with Cyber Monday, just the usual weekly sales.

I left quite a lengthy rant about my qualms with the SKATE series during one of he last big sales quite a few months ago, but the short version is basically that althougn I found the controls and customization pretty rewarding (especially as a fan of COOL BOARDERS, the snowboard games from the PS1 era), I hit a wall super-quick in SKATE 2 but did manage to get a good few hours of enjoyment out of the flexibility of running around doing various activities in SKATE 3.

Both games' campaigns center a lot around score-based challenges in small designated specific areas (think ramp-like structures, fountains, abstract skateable sculptures, etc) to "own" them before proceeding in your career. Idk if it's just my aging thumb dexterity or just lack of my own trick creativity but in SKATE 2 I was trés suck[/] and got stuck pretty quickly, but the added trick tweaks that are added in S3 let me get further (plus, if my memory serves, S3's career trajectory was a lot less linear) and honestly, I only baled--pun intended--on SKATE 3 when my character got stuck while exploring backyards on-foot and even reloading my checkpoint started me off in a dead end situation.

I haven't seriously played a Street Fighter game since the 90's so I'm no help there, however.

Anyone know for sure if this is the case? My gold status expires on 12/12/14. I have all the Xbox One games, but I don't plan on using the 12 month code I have until they have better GWG titles for us later next year.

I am currently playing State of Decay now and looking at howlongtobeat.com it says ~16 hours to finish the game so I'm genuinely curious what you did to put so many hours into the game? I'm hooked and I can't wait for the SoD MMO to come out. Honestly I can't believe it hasn't been done yet.
