Just when MS looks to be turning things around sale wise, they go right back to their total suck a*s ways. Just don't get it and at this point, I honestly don't think I ever will.

I could be wrong but I think the publishers are to blame too, and not just MS/Sony/Nintendo. Except maybe Nintendo is to blame. I never buy digital with their lack of sales worth a damn.

I think they (the publishers) had to 'make an offer that you can't decline/deny' in the previous years...so they'd put more effort into the sales. With how hot the video games have become, many would buy a game even if it is a lackluster 10% off and so the publishers have become greedy/lazy and don't put the same energy into trying to sell their games.

If you look at the number of people who never owned a console previously but own a current gen console now, you will know the number of 'new' gamers introduced into the system...and, all of them will take any sale as an awesome sale. Those are the people the sales are targeted at.

This just makes no sense to me as I see it the exact opposite. Were now entering the final years of the Xbox 360 lifespan, so the developers/publishers should be trying to sell and many 360 games as possible, especially digital only games that won't be able to be sold once the 360 side of the network is taken down. Anyone in sales knows that you can expect a certain percentage of sales at full retail price, a certain percent of sales at 20% off, a certain percentage at 40% off and so on and so forth. Most of the 360 games have already been on the market for an extended period of time, hence logically the best way to get sales up at this point is to lower the price or to put them on sale. Most people don't just decide at a later date to pay full price for an item. If they don't buy it for full price within the first 3-5 months of a titles release, odds are they aren't going to pay full price regardless of how long you keep it at that price level. The only exception would be really high quality/high popularity titles, which make up like 1/50th of the games that come to market.

To get stingy at this point, in regards to discounts, basically guarantee's less sales and ultimately less money made on the 360 side. Again, that makes absolutely zero sense given that we are entering the final years of the 360's lifespan.

 
Righteous, I remember when we had those $5 sales. 

How about putting games like "Operation Darkness", "Catherine" and others at $5.  How about "Deathsmiles XX" at $5 as well?  What about "Wet"?  etc., etc.

I'm a WM lifer--I've been there 14 years, mostly in Salesfloor positions, I've never heard of this policy. It might be a state-wide thing, it could be a Metro store thing, but is definitely not a company-wide policy. I wish we used that policy, our shrink would be a lot less from all the scammers out there.

Really hoping gtaV gets a decent discount. Anything less than $40 and I'll pick it up for sure. I'll probably get wolf among us while it's $15 as well. That telltale bundle is a great deal, I just have no interest in GoT, not much interest in BL and already have WD 1&2.

GtaV and sunset overdrive sp are the last things I'd really like to see on sale. Really wanted d4 as well but that'll be free in a few days, so yay.

AC III season pass (don't judge me, I want to play the GW story even though a few said it was wack and Im not paying $30 for a sp for a game that retails for $9)

At least I got the Aliens and Mordor season pass in this sale.

 
I would like season pass for Sunset Overdrive.  I would like Mordor SP but on PSN.

Both of these season passes I'd like to see half off preferably.  Season passes are now so marked up.  I mean Mordor is $25 ffs.

When was Mordor ever on sale?  Alien I know about.

Wow if it's only ACIV on Monday...WOWOWOW... It's been on sale physically too many times to count and have been available for $10 and less digitally too many times to count.  Plus the fact that well, it was a launch title with no GOTY edition or anything many other games have had.

I still don't think GTA will be tomorrow because like I said, the 360 and XB1 sales haven't really been matching up so makes sense it won't tomorrow either.

My argument still holds good with current gen - XB1 / PS4 / WiiU. You are talking about 360 - and, I see your point and agree to it, though.

 
The tile for Day 5 states that Resident Evil 4 is "Just $5" yet the purchase price is $6.59. I guess Microsoft ran out of fucks early in the year, cause they don't seem to have any left to give at this point.

Just a bit on Golf Club.

I was really excited for and bought Golf Club when it was on sale last time and it ended up as my most disappointing game of 2014. Just hitchy as can be. Never runs smooth and has no sense of accomplishment as you make your way though rounds or tournaments. It desperately needs a career mode. Act of golfing is fine but nothing impressive enough to make up for the rest of the games shortcomings.

I would have loved to just get Trials for $10 or less, not the bundle for $20

Same with GTA, just give me GTA for 30 or 40, not full price with a free cash card

Picked up SO tonight and then traded the disc version in to BB for $28.20 w/ GCU and 50%. Worth it to have digitally. I like to just jump in and play some challenges in it. When the SP goes on sale, I'll buy that, too.

Also traded AC:U for $41.60. The way that is dropping digitally, I'll snag it for $20 soon...

They couldn't have included Styx, Pier Solar or Another World in that X1 sale? Lame. I've given up hope of buying anything during these sales. Worst ever, IMO.

It's been cheap at Sams ($15 i think?) and on sale a few times for sub $30.

Wasnt sure about Fantasia at first and my girl was hating but after like 10 minutes we are both waving our arms around like a couple of crazy people and really enjoying it.

And im pretty happy that everything Ive bought Ive actually beennplaying rather than backlogging it. Dragon Age is much better than I had expected as well
