While I personally play a lot of retro-look games, I do see the point and partially agree with this post. Presentation, graphics and immersion, in this day and age, are a factor in gaming after all. Way too many indie games go for the retro look because it's cheap and easy, which is fair enough, they don't have a lot of money or manpower (then again there's some hand-drawn indie games as well which look gorgeous). But way too often the retro feel is just to hide the fact that the basic gameplay is incredibly limited and repetitive. 1 or 2 buttons, a small 2D map, jump around and collect coins, yay. 15 bucks please. Rogue Legacy looks retro but the game within is very deep, so that's one thing, but when your game feels like something that would have been disappointing even in the 80's, something's very wrong. And let's be honest, our eyes can deceive us. If it's an okay game we much more gladly get through it if it looks amazing than if it's ugly as hell. Ryse wasn't the most exciting game I've ever played but those graphics? Damn. If it had the Quake 1 engine I probably wouldn't have bothered after 2 levels.

Anybody know the best way to wipe an internal Xbox 360 hard drive clean? I have a 4gb system with a 320 gb hard drive and I want to sell both without leaving myself open to identity theft or account hacking.

Well ground zeroes is a good addition I reckon. The other indies, err....better than AAA games...look fine, Skulls of the Shogun sounds interesting at least.

I would go into System/Storage and format the drive. You may have to enter the serial number off your console when you select this (it stops kids and such from doing this by accident).

 
I always love the weird attitude about indie games versus big budget games where it sounds like you have to choose sides instead of enjoying the best of both worlds. I don't think I could survive anymore of the slow drip feed of big budget games when there are tons of cool indies to help fill in the gaps that especially fall outside of the stereotypes that people always focus on.

Should I start posting the PSN sales in here as well to go with the PS+ lineup and all that?

That's how it is for me. I want to be entertained; doesn't mean it has to cost millions, have tons of explosions, and yet be boring as hell (I'm look at you, Transformers Dark Of The Moon).

Nowadays I play Plants vs. Zombies 2 more than any other game. I doubt it costs more to make than it did for a popular game like Halo, yet I enjoy PvZ more.

Are you serious? I consider it worth what I paid because I feel like for once I understand the story as it stands going into the full game being released later this year. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that after completing it once, there are other objectives, ways to play the game, etc. I got my moneys worth and can easily familiarize myself with the story and controls before the release that I'm very excited for.
 
I hope its not another Indy title on the Xbox One. You want to give that away on the 360, fine, at least there is a second title for me to play. I grew up playing SNES games, I really hate going back to that. I'll play some Goat Simulator, Child of Light, Outlast, Slender but every other Indy title especially those that uses pixel art just doesn't appeal to me.  If you want to give away Indy titles on Xbox One, please give us two new releases a month. PS+ offerings as of late have been that stuff too. I might just cancel my gold and live at this point. They might be fun games, but I just can't anymore. It feels second rate and looks third rate.

PvZ GW is definitely one of the better shooters, me and a friend hopped on yesterday for the first time in a while and still found games fast, I love my Halo and Battlefield and such, but PvZ definitely is one of the best recent shooters, such a fun game!

Is the Smite founders pack worth $30? I've never played the game but I've watched twitch streams and it seems like something I'd enjoy. I'm only asking because I know the founders pack won't be available after the game is officially released and I'm thinking I may regret not picking it up.

So, smite players, is it worth it?

(Yes, I know smite is F2P and spending $30 on anything f2p technically isn't "worth it", but you know what I mean).

If you enjoy the game, the founders pack is a great deal, I'm still iffy because I don't really like MoBA's and only like the Arena mode in Smite really, but every character including the ones not out, plus a few gems is worth $30 at least. Also if you log on every day of the week you can get a bonus 50 gems each week, not much but it helps

Would you consider Happy Wars to be somewhat of a MOBA? Because I put almost 100 hours into that so far and I loved every minute of it. If Smite is something similar then I could see myself shooting the devs a few bucks for that pack, since I'll most likely get way more out of it than a measly $30.

I'm not sure I believe that Xbox fans didn't understand that XBLA was filled with indie games and that the XBLIG stuff was a small, gimped subsection of what indie games were.

I wish Happy Wars would work right on the Xbox One. Matchmaking takes so long, and frequently I just get dropped from lobbies. I enjoy the game, but the lack of a working transition to the new system is really disappointing.
