If like to see some sort of loot system in TR - rare weapons, ability boosters - stuff like that. Otherwise, I loved the reboot and will buy this one day 1.
 
Probably not even noteworthy here, but currently XBOX DE is handing out up to 150€ discounts on Xbox Ones to buy on Amazon....they actually use your gamerscore to determine how much of a discount you can get. (everyone with a gamerscore will get that 150€ discount)

If you already have an XBone and give the code to a friend you will receive ori and the Bild Forest and 1 Month of EA Access.

What do you guys think about this promotion?

EDIT: *gamerscore of at least 100.000 GS will get that 150€ discount. I could still get 100€ discount with my current gamerscore.

Yeah I stayed up too late playing it last night as it definitely has the one more turn thing going on. Been a while since all I've wanted to do the next day was get back to a single player game.

I was actually wishing the game was a bit more complex but this is my wheelhouse and maybe it will later on.

Yeah the difficulty picks up quickly. You have to plan ahead way before you think you need to. Appears so simple but is actually really complex.

I'm hoping I can get to year 150 my first attempt. Then learn from my mistake to get further next time.

I'm not even talking in the tactical, they keep dying from old age! I find it interesting that this first attempt is playing out a lot like my first attempt at XCOM EU.

Though this 83 year old regent just gave birth. :shock:

 
I'm at the point where I think to myself "jeepers this level was hard. I'm glad there is only 1 more enemy left". Then I move up a little bit and there are at least 5 more and 3 of them spawn more enemies.

I just had that happen. Was all "Boy I'm sure glad that's the last one because I just escaped with all my people." Then three ruptures and two bulwarks pop out of the fog and kill my two young cabers, one of whom was going to continue one of my original bloodlines which may now be ended.

And that's what makes this game so freaking good so far. I wish you had a bit more time with each character (because you're lucky to get a couple missions out of them) like in XCOM where you really get attached to them so when they do die it's really terrible. Here though they still last just long enough to get attached to them but there's also this sort of internal storytelling going on as you plot how to continue the bloodlines and planning succession and this different sort of attachment that comes from that. Double Fine makes great games but it's still a pleasant surprise they've managed to create that kind of hook when this is a massive departure from their other games.

 
I'm only on my second battle in Massive Chalice and am getting my ass handed to me due to needing more heroes with ranged attacks (you'll know why if you've played the level I'm referring to). But it keeps crashing on me at the end of the battle and starts me at the beginning with the same group. May have to just start a new game and probably delete and redownload to see if it fixes the crashes.

The XCOM 2 news makes Massive Chalice an even nicer game to have with the way Firaxis seems to be running far away from console development for the foreseeable future.

Which to me just seems odd. Sure PC people always knew of XCOM even if they had never played it and regardless EU would have been a hit because of it's quality and pedigree. Being on consoles though is the reason it broke out to become this mainstream hit and the game was clearly designed from the core to be a console game. So unless it's just that they know they had some issues with EU/EW on consoles and need more time to avoid that while also getting it onto new consoles it seems like a weird decision.

Trying to get in touch with an English speaking MS rep. My points expired before the midnight deadline EST. Bought Oddworld on X1 and some $3 indie game on 360 then went to commerce link to see what the balance was now and nothing showed, just the purchases. I have the payment receipts from 10:30pm est. First guy I just called I asked..you're familiar with the xbox promo currency expiring at midnight this morning..his reply. NOPE. *dial tone*

 
I'm having a hard time getting in to massive chalice. I just don't think tactical games are for me. I'm not giving up on it, because I love double fine. I really, really tried to get into x-com too but couldn't. It doesn't help that I suck at those kinds of games. I lost two family members during the tutorial.

Supposedly Enemy Unknown only sold a bit over a million on consoles, but over 2 on Steam alone on PC. I think the fairly consistent sales it had beefed the number up a bit, but still.

I'm expecting a console port to be announced eventually as long is it still does good. I hope so at least.
