Anybody else having a tough time 'getting into' ESO?
I've only played for about 6-8 hours (on :ps4:) and it is just not ckicking for me. Maybe it is because I am concurrently playing Witcher 3 and Inquisition, which are similar, better 'massive-quest-list' games. I dunno. The combat is pretty lame. And the story is the kind of thing I just skip through. I'm not going to quit or whatever, it's just not really at the top of my playlist now.

Yes. I'm not even sure what I was thinking buying it... I have barely touched it, didn't really get into it when I did, and I'm enjoying Diablo 3 and Forza Horizon 2 much more. I'm going to be trading it in I think as I'm never going to sink a bunch of time into it. I'm sure the value will tank, but as of now I think I'd get $42 for it after promo and gcu. Maybe I'll check out batman this week.

Hmm... that trade-in promo sounds like a good idea, man. I might do that, especially if it nets me $42 back. I usually never give up on games this fast, but I am just not enjoying this one at all. I used $25 in GCU coupons to pay for it at launch, so at least I didn't use all Earth-dollars.

I think I bought this because I loved Skyrim so much - even though every thing I ever read about ESO said "this is nothing like Skyrim, idiot." Guess I learned the hard way.

 
Well I am definitely regretting buying the digital version of Destiny a little more now. I just saw that there will be a Legendary version when it releases on 9/15 that has the base game plus all three DLCs for $59.99.  Getting that for $48 from BBY with GCU still may be the way to go though if you want the DLC now.

There are people out there. I've considered it. It released in Japan the same week the final DLC came out, so their release had all the maps and the extra campaign chapter. The achievement list is changed up, the "reach level X and clear wave X of Horde on Y map" were replaced. It has an achievement for every XP level ending in 5 and 0, with levels 8 and 12 as well, so there's a better sense of achievement progress than the slog from L50 to L100. Been a while since I last checked, but I think it has a decent XP multiplier set as well. And there's a big juicy 150 pointer for clearing all 50 waves of Horde on all 29 maps. The unobtainable does suck, though.

Long shot but try calling MS and see if they'll refund. Its bullshit that they would put this thing on sale the same week Bungie announced a complete version for $12 more and it comes out in a couple months.

Take this with a grain of salt, but a game called Zombi has been spotted as being rated for XB1. Rumor is this could be a port of Zombi U - which is a great game for Wii U.  I'd definitely double-dip for the cheevos.

Damon Grow abused the nostalgia of potential fans by letting the crazy rumors run wild without attempting to reign people in with more realistic expectations.

There definitely are people who would. Interesting about the different list. I knew they were stackable, but I didn't know they made changes to it and for the better. You've almost talked me into it if it wasn't for the whole import issue thing. I've already started replaying Gears 1 on the PC to play the extra Act (which now will be in the Ultimate X1 version) and double up, but I don't think I'll go for the mp kill achievements. I'm still surprised every time I find random playing actual mp matches still.

It's another football game. People's expectations for a fuck ing football game should be pretty damn low, considering there are a dozen of them churned out a year and they're all the same. "Oh yes, another chance to pretend I was successful in my youth!"

What dozen football games were released in even the last 5 years?
The only licensed games is Madden which comes out yearly, and several years back there was the All Pro Football game by 2k which did poorly. Other than that there has been no alternative to Madden on consoles for a decent football game

I went full retard and paid with all but $10 in Earth bucks. At least the lesson learned won't be too expensive. Expected more of a coop Skyrim which I would have known wasn't the case of I had looked into it more
 
The updated Xbox One controller is pretty great. The right and left bumpers feel so much better, and the 3.5 mm jack is pretty handy. It feels slightly lighter than the original controller too.

Backbreaker was hyped up like it was the second coming of Jesus and failed like the others. Besides the minor stuff like the Tecmo Bowl remake and the Backbreaker XBLA game, there hasn't been much. There's also a Steam football game that reminds me of NCAA Football 98 on the PS1, though it looks a bit better than that.

2K fans could save themselves the trouble by not being so completely gullible that they hype any alternative with unrealistic expectations that it'll never meet.

Pfff Seriously 2.0 is the easiest of the Seriously Achievements...try 3.0 or the first seriously achievement where only ranked kills count (without annex mode)...

 
The street football games were soooo fun they need to make a new one now!!!!!!!! Also NBA Street Vol 2 was my shit back then on the OG xbox!! Also I love this term "Earth Bucks" lmao so accurate gonna have to start using that one more!

I liked 2k8 even though it didn't allow enough customization (presumably due to pressure from EA/NFL so players couldn't recreate the NFL in a game which played much better). What was the series with LT and Romanowski? Never played that one much.

Yeah, that's true. At least 2 had a way to boost it. 3 is ridiculous and 1 is a pain considering you had to wait for matches to fill and sometimes they would last forever as one last guy hid from the other four and then you had to actually get more kills than the requirement because the kill tracking wasn't accurate.

You won't get a msg from that person but after a couple days you'll get a msg from xbox prompting you to download the preview app. About two days after that you'll be prompted to update your xbox and that should be it!

I've put in about 50 hours. I didn't get into it until I hit level 10 and started playing PVP. Giant open world battlefield with castles, outposts, farms, mines, and lumber mills to take over for your faction. Plus quests, 50+ player battles (probably closer to 100 at times), siege weapons, caves, sky shards, etc.

I did PVP from level 10 to 17 then went back into PVE, skipping a lot of the quests near the very start. The quality of quests picks up greatly near the end of the first region. I'm actually enjoying the stories now.

I'm in Aldmeri Dominion, so I can only speak for them. Other factions may have better or worse starting areas. It also helps that I have a few friends that play with me.

Blitz: The League. That one was more Midway being kind of like "ok, let's do everything the NFL wouldn't let us do." It's pretty interesting in hindsight although it also has the rubberband AI of the old Blitz games in spades.

 
So Wolfenstein New Order just showed up as "ready to install" on my games and apps page. I do not own this game and have never even played a demo for it. I DO own old blood, but that's already installed. Weird. Anyway, I'm downloading it now and hopefully I'll have time to play it some before it goes away.

Edit: 44.5 GB! That's more than Unity, I think. I knew I should've gotten a 4 tb.

So I used 1 of the 4 $5 coupons (didnt find anything else to use the other 3 on) to buy the Bad Company 1 gold edition. Im surprised on how populated the MP is, not a bad investment for $1.90

So ya, new here, hi hello etc but wanted to get right to the point.

Both xbox one units in my home (running different main accounts/tags set as home console) also got this, both units are in the preview program, however I have asked all my other friends (mix of preview and non preview opt ins) and no one else got said free/surprise game. However no one that I asked has played the gears beta, while both xbox units and both tags here in my home have played it. Did you play the gears beta???

I'm in the preview program and have played the beta but don't have it showing in ready to install.

Guess the only other factor is the old blood, I pre-ordered it (via console) but there was never any talk about a free copy of TNO, if anything on launch week you could get both Old Blood and TNO for 24.99 in a bundle.

 
I also randomly have The New Order showing up under ready to install, even though I bought it on disc, did get The Old Blood digitally though.

Yea it carries over to the full game. Just play anytime between that timeframe and you'll have it to use in the full game. 2:00 - 5:00 PM PDT (4:00 - 7:00 PM Mexico/CDT, 5:00 - 8:00 PM EDT, 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM BST)

This skin can't be used in the beta like the weapon skins (which carry over too) so you unlock now but it will only be available to use in the full game.
