Couldn't agree less. My spouse is the best thing that ever happened to me. When you find the right one, love them completely.

I recently came across a Reddit thread asking wealthy/successful people who came from humble origins what they did to make their money. It was interesting how many of them said that a supportive spouse was the key to their success.

Oh and: In for lots of good sales this week. Vesperia is a steal. Anyone on the fence shouldn't hesitate. I think I'll also pick up Tekken Tag 2 so I don't have to swap a disc in. Hoping that goes to BC.

My partner is awesome, she let me quit my job because it sucked so much. We'd be engaged, but we bought her a car instead with money that would have been the ring. I was married before as well, a decade ago. It's silly, yet still manages to be awesome. Every relationship falls but one.

Amen. I almost got married. Ring on the finger and everything. Turned out she was crazy also. Married some other guy 2 months after we broke it off and then tried to hook back up with me 6 months later. I find no reason to make that commitment anymore. I am more more comfortable knowing me or my girl can leave if they want without having any legal proceedings. I am also not having kids so that will never be an issue.

I think the list is fake too, but to be fair to Ryse....aren't the games like Dead Rising, Forza 5, and Ryse only available through the GOTY editions? They removed the regular editions from the marketplace when the GOTY dropped. At least I thought they did, maybe i'm wrong.

 
Decent sale, overall. What would really have elevated it to a 'great sale' status would be the inclusion of the DLC for Enslaved and Beautiful Katamari. At just 50% off, those would probably sell more during that single discounted week than their total sales since release.

I was hesitant to say anything previously but given how long the discussion has continued and the real life importance of it (as opposed to games) I decided to relay this story.  I actually handle divorces in real life.  I see on a daily basis how tough things can be emotionally and financially for people - both younger and older than I am.  A while back a former client (male - early thirties) came in to see me out of the blue.  His divorce (which was fairly litigious and involved children) had wrapped up about a year prior to this.

He asked my assistant if I had a minute to talk to him.  He was a nice guy so I went out to see what he needed.  He told me that he just came in to tell me that he had said a ton of times during the divorce process that divorce was really hard but the truth was that it was actually really easy.  He said the court process was hard but life after divorce was far easier than he imagined it would be.  He told me as soon as he just decided to move forward instead of dwelling on things, life was great.  In relevant part to this discussion, he told me that I could express his thoughts to anyone that was struggling with what they were going through.

In summary, I wish the best to anyone who has gone through or is going through this process.  I also want you to know that not every lawyer is out to get the other side.  Some of us legitimately feel for both parties going through the process.  

Lastly, I loved Ryse.

Having kids changes everything! I love my son and there is so much more growing up to do after having a kid. Believe it or not, I think I'm able to anticipate my son's needs better than my wife. It is crucial for a son to have a father.

I've been married 16 years with 4 kids. Marriage and family is great. Like any relationship, there's going to be ups and downs, but I can't imagine life any other way.

 
Solid sale. Definitely going to buy a $25 code with that cereal coupon and grab some things. Been playing Forza Horizon Fast & Furious lately and really enjoying that, so Horizon for $10 seems worth it, especially since BC seems likely. How about the DLC? I don't really care much about the extra cars, but the rally DLC seems like a lot of fun. Also think it's time to grab RDR since it never drops lower than $7.50, and Quake Arcade for offline deathmatch with friends to round out the $25. Thinking of other stuff too but doubt I'll play any of it so I might as well hold off.

 
Tempted on the season pass for Evil Within. Only thing holding me back is the possibility of a  GOTY Edition of the game with the DLC in there. Any word on if this game is going to get that treatment???  :pray:  :pray:

this is so true! I had no idea my wife felt the way she did. We had what some would say the perfect marriage, she was the love of my life. She has now turned into the most cold hearted hurtful person I have ever known. Saddest thing is watching the person you love the most, turn into everything you hate.

There was a listing for a GOTY edition on Amazon France last time I checked. Its coming soon.

Or you could get a copy for $19.99 from Amazon and get the SP to go with it. It'll come out to be less than a release day price of the GOTY edition.

I miss the game discussion.  Divorce sucks but at the same time can be necessary.

Just finalized mine 2 months ago.  Sole custody of 3 kids (oldest is 8).  Been pretty much a single dad for the last 4 years anyway.

Their mother (my now ex) is mentally disabled.  I still try to help her even though we live 2 states apart (she's in a homeless shelter living on disability but constantly stops her meds).  She lives in a different reality.  I went through the entire divorce proceeding only fighting with her parents (they think she's just rebellious). 

Over 4 years I watched the woman I love turn into a monster and then level out...then revert...then level out....I couldn't do it anymore.  

When she finally flipped again over Christmas, her paranoia got so strong she was convinced I was demon possessed again and attacked me in front of the kids.  Thought I was hurting our son while I was looking at his finger his sister had accidentally stepped on.  The scar in my neck is a constant reminder of why divorce was necessary.  

This doesn't even cover the adultery that came up, the accussations she made (like me molesting my kids and sexually abusing her), having to testify in court to her sanity as she was wheeled into the courtroom handcuffed to a wheelchair by the hospital staff, being a missing person multiple times, the conversations she would have with the air, having to give the okay to her electroconvulsive shock therapy so they could jar her from her catatonia and stop having to feed her through IVs...

Being an anatomy/physiology instructor, I at least understand why she is like this but it doesn't make it easier 

I guess my point was that I knew I had to legally cut ties to secure the children's future and my financial future, she had no part in the proceedings, the lawyer and I pretty much just went through the motions and divorce still was an emotionally exhausting experience.

Married for 1.5 years and a 6 month old baby. 10 year old from wifes last relationship. I love married life and even though i never wanted it i absolutely love being a parent.
I miss gaming but i just love playing with my baby so much and watching him evolve every day.
Also. Wish evil within season pass sale was ps4 and not xbox but whatever

I've been married 10 years and despite all the ups and downs, she's the best thing that's happened to me. Before marriage, I was a selfish drug addict that also drank too much. I can still be totally selfish, but I'd probably be dead or in some terrible enabling relationship with a stripper. Now I'm a family man. We've had plenty of problems, communication (on my part) being the biggest issue and we've almost gotten divorced several times. We spent two years in marriage counseling and still go from time to time.

I'm not saying "working it out" is the answer for everybody, but counseling definitely is. Even if you go by yourself. Help process everything, work on yourself for the benefit of the next woman you marry, or your kids if you have any, and for yourself.

A baby makes life seem really rough with no end in sight (even though you love the kid). Things get a lot easier and you'll get your gaming time back eventually. Just think of the backlog of great games you'll have to choose from. :)

On topic: How is Tales of Vesperia for people who aren't into RPG?

Off topic: Hearing some of your guy's stories and marriage is an eyeopener for me as i'm only 18, i have a lot of things to worry about

Off/On Topic: Irrespective of what others have experienced and said about it, it really comes down to how you deal with it. ToV is a good game, you can't go wrong with the price. Having said that, you may not like it when you start playing it. My experience is not your experience, since you are only 18, keep an open mind about life/game :)

From my experience, you would like the game a lot if you dont expect state-of-the-art graphics or awesome combat. Cutsie characters, nice narration and decent combat - what else do you need in life, eh.

 
Sorry about pushing the wrong subject.  Been a rough week trying to help their mother and it still breaks my heart.  

Anyway I am excited to see some of the arcade sales.  I shouldn't buy anything since I probably won't ever make time to play them these days but sometimes it's just fun to add to the collection (especially when the games are so cheap.)  

Does Doom II still have anyone playing online?

Passed on an Armored Core game from another sale because the time you have to invest.

Is DBZ Xenoverse a huge jump over battle of Z?

Considering enslaved, galaga, and the old pacman games.

And while it's only a couple of dollars difference, I wish I had waited to buy Tekken Tag 2 since I haven't even installed it yet from the last sale.

I got ToV last time it was super cheap and I just couldn't get into it. The combat never meshed with me. Not to mention the 100s of hours required to beat it (I've heard). I'll give it another chance eventually and for < $5 I'm not complaining.

It also helps if you have played a similar game. so you may have a different perspective this time around? I tend to 'like' most games if it is hack/slash type - unless it is the warriors games. I get tired with those, it gets frustrating for me pretty fast.

I was not into turn-based, for a long time. I recently, on whim, started playing Child Of Light and now I cant put it down :) So, you may end up liking ToV too :)

I love Child of Light, but it's also simple. I mean it takes thinking and timing, but it's nowhere near the complexity of tales, at least from the hour or so impression I got from it. I'll definitely give it another shot, but when I have games like arkham knight, outlast and ryse in the backlog it'll be a while.
