Super Shotgun is WAY OP.  It has assault rifle range and it's a one shot kill, unless I'm using it.  Maybe I don't get the nuances of the game.

This is the 2nd time I've read this in this thread, and I still find it surprising. I know they did an interview in Game Informer right after it launched, and they said they had a hard time deciding to but were really happy with the launch and didn't think they could have done as well with a normal release. Then again, I only read GI while I'm making a deposit in the flush bank and it's not like I was paying a lot of attention to an article about a dumb playstation soccer car rocket whatever game.

Yeah, sorta. It's a side scrolling beat 'em up. There's combos, heavy metal sound effects when you pick up health drops, goofy comic book cut scenes... I played for 40 minutes, got to level 5 (out of 20) and didn't get bored at all. I don't usually like beat 'em ups. Scott pilgrim, for example, bored me after about 20 minutes.

I read some of the notes in between matches and one of them mentions players being at full power. I'm not sure if that means damage is pro-rated to match your health, or if there is a way to become more powerful (other than that short-lived bonus you can pick up) as you progress. Maybe I have some reading ahead of me.

I may have heard from a guy that knows a guy that there are powerups that increase. This same guy likes the game, but doesn't like join in progress. He says people constantly quitting and re-joining make the game lag horribly.

They're not saying it's impossible, just that it's not something easy that doesn't require a ton of work for a fairly small studio. Microsoft-backed games supporting it because of marketing reasons is a whole other thing.

 
I'm really liking the Doom beta, but the damage output on some of the guns seem completely random. And I agree that the super shotgun is way op. It's literally the only gun I get killed by. Feels like I'm playing Gears half the time. Hopefully things are more balanced by the time it's released, can't wait for this game.

They also changed their approach to post-launch support and DLC because of what being on PS+ offered them as far as a large userbase and the ability to get long-term support from them with good updates and cool DLC.

The DLC has regularly topped all PS4 DLC on their monthly charts for two of the four months they've been available while the game itself has been in the Top 10 sellers post-PS+, so it has much better legs thanks to being on PS+ and having tons of great word of mouth pushing the game's appeal further. The constant raving about how good Rocket League was on The Game Awards is proof of how well being on PS+ has done for them.

So I bought MKX Premium Edition.  I just saw the Kombat Pack 2 including Leather Face from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Alien in Alien, drunken fist master and Tri-borg (Cyrax, Sektor, Robot Smoke).  Is that  included with the Premium or I have to get that separately?

I've been having a lot of achievement notification problems too. I'm fine with it as long as they are still unlocking. I'm going for all achievements in Dark Souls 2: SOTFS and a few had me worried when they didn't pop right away.

I guess after over a year of shut down push backs when reddit would rise up they gave up and left a server running to make the DRM keep chugging along. As someone who played Dirt 2/3 on PC 3-4 nights a week with friends for around 3 year the service was abandoned long before they tried to shut it down and rarely functioned without major issue. MS doesn't care about PC games at this point regardless so they're not going to bother with opening up their closed infrastructure again let alone to make it play nice with their direct competitors in the console space.

How long does it take for the My Missions section of Xbox Rewards to update?

I purchased the Gears/Forza combo pack during the Black Friday sale and was expecting to receive promotional credit of 10,000 total, 4k for Gears and 6K for Forza.

So far, though....the site still has not marked those games as purchased.  And its fine-print verbiage about purchasing individual titles has me worried that they going to weasel out of giving me the points because I purchased a combo pack.

It won't be shut down until the XBL servers for 360 are shut down.

I bought Rare Replay on 11/27 and the 3,000 points showed up for me earlier this week.

Perusing their forums, you aren't alone - the bundle doesn't automatically count toward the promo. Some people had their credits adjusted, however.

This is why I hate XBL rewards.  It's so opaque you can't just look at it and figure anything out and then how it winds up working out often runs counter to common sense.

True, but every now and again ... If Fozra and Halo get better discounts during the countdown, and Tomb Raider gets a discount of its own, I'll be sorely tempted to complete that exclusive offer. $6 back for each title, plus another $35 back for completing the set.

Does buying a digital code for the games count?  I bought the Rare Replay code through the MS store, but I have no credits pending.

 
Rented Just Cause 3. It is fun and in many ways an improvement over Just Cause 2 but I am really not super into it yet.  Maybe I am just not in the mood for a game like this right now.
