It's fun. It's cheesy and campy, the combat is decent, the enemies are relatively varied and there are many different locations over 21 levels. I'm at about level 8 now and I'm still digging it. for 6 bucks it's easy to recommend to anyone who's even a casual beat 'em up fan.

I'll put it this way: Scott pilgrim got a lot more praise, but I honestly am enjoying this quite a bit more.

It's really cool actually. I recently picked one up for $9 during a lightning deal BF and liked it so much I ordered another one for my sister and nephew to check out the cool Star Wars VR vids as a bonus. You're basically just getting a calibrated lens that works with any smartphone to produce a VR experience.

I really hope these things take off, Sony's remark that their VR headset is a console of itself and that it'll prob sell around $400 is plain nuts when you have a smartphone + Google cardboard option. Obv not the most stylish option but hey I'm a cheap ass.

How does actually using it work? I was thinking some kind of Virtual Boy set up but you wouldn't be able to move around that way. Do I have to hold it with my hands like a caveman?

So for those that are getting the Gears codes is there a specific amount of time you have to have played Gears Ultimate? I only loaded up the campaign and quit out as soon as I had control of Marcus.

You do hold it in front of your face. Look left, you look left in the VR world, have the button on the top pressed and in Google Street View and your banking to the left as you fly over virtual earth! I usually use it while seated in a swiveling computer chair, allows more freedom and less chance of walking into something lol. You can also mod it with a very easy DIY rubber band head band so you don't have to hold it.

Yikes that's scary. That's exactly what 2 of my 360s did right before they redringed & more recently that's what my X1 did before the power supply (PSU) went out. I noticed that the PSU was making a lot of noise prior to that happening on screen. I had to replace it. $50 on M$ Xbox repair website.

I have a headset that I bought, the company strongly recommends against using a band to hold the viewer. I don't remember why, but they were rather adamant it's not healthy.

Last time it started at a certain time, you could pick your item. It was until that item ran out, some items had multiples some did not, the beer pong table there was only one. They had some good stuff last time, I missed a few of the better items.

Yeah getting the email telling me they gave other people money and stuff for being VIP customers was salt in the wound seeing as how I've gotten over 100 digital games from them in the past year. Apparently the bar has been set higher than that. I also haven't gained any VIP rank on the rewards site for the past two years.

finally got an email from Xbox and I thought I was gonna get some digital credit like all the other cool kids, but alas. This could be good though, with the end of year sale coming up combined with the Rewards boost.

 
They just tweeted that there are issues.

My console keeps having issues connecting to the internet. I have to reset my router/modem and it starts working again. It's weird because the Xbox is the only thing not working, phones/tablet/pc work via Wi-Fi, wired Xbox is glitchy. And hard resets don't fix it.
 
Hey I was wondering.  Has anyone played "Fighter Within'".  Is this game worth $10?

On another note for bc, what about GOTY disc games like Skyrim?  Will be able to install DLC from disc like on the 360 or will it require a separate download.

In general I'm also wondering about the next BC update as well so I can play Bioshock 2 online.

$10 is a good price for it. Just don't expect a great fighting game. I haven't played it, but had a good time watching others stream it. Fun game, but don't take it seriously because it is full of bullshit.

On the topic of fighting games. Random didn't sleep last night rambling below

In a stream the other day somebody did make a good point about differences between Street Fighter and Killer Instinct. SF you can pick up and have a good time without really concentrating. KI requires more focus and will make your hands sweaty because of how much you need to think. This is mostly because of how different each character is in KI. As I said before I love how different they are, but it is also intimating for new players wanting to learn all the match ups. KI is a very match up focused game.
 
I forgot the last time I got Xbox Rewards Points. I usually get a monthly email tinforming me of my zero balance.

Hopefully next week's sale has some games AND DLC on sale. It would be a lot easier if they did some kind of "spend x amount of dollars, get x amount of points/credit" promotion.
