It plugs in to the USB port on the side of the console, charges two batteries (included), and gives you back a front-facing USB port. It was on sale for $15 (currently $20) last week so I couldn't resist getting a second one. It was the cheapest way to get two more batteries, plus getting a second charger wasn't a bad deal.

I have one of these as well (with additional 2 batteries). I like it a lot, however the top "latch" is loose and takes a bit to get it to hold a battery in place. I need to get a second one for Xbox #2 (dang kids don't always put them back in the charger)

 
Eneloops are awesome, best rechargeables I've had. I think you can still get an 8+2 pack at costco for like $25. I'd recommend shelling out $40 for a nice LA Crosse charger. It's worth the investment to not trickle charge your batteries to an early grave. I'd much rather invest in AAs I can put in everything from a buttplug to a toothbrush (savvy consumers will pick up one dual purpose item!), than have a drawer full of batteries that each fit a single device.

I'd recommend getting a starter set that comes with 8 AAs, 4 AAAs, the C/D adaptors and the charger in a case for like $25-30. I've bought a set off Amazon for that and one later at Costco. I very much think they are worth the price, Eneloops are awesome.

I had not heard of them until they were widely used in the controllers at a place I used to work at. I thought they were some off brand until I did some research and saw good reviews. I'm glad I eventually bought some.

I'm not sure what the standard play and charge kit batteries for the X1 look like, but I doubt it. These have an inner battery pack that goes in the controller with connectors facing out, then the battery pack covers goes over it with a square opening that exposes the connectors.

Thank you for that link, I had some on my Amazon wishlist (for safe keeping of the link) that were Sanyo brand and it said they were 1800, which I assume must be the amount of times they can be recharged? That's awesome.

Sorry (not sorry) to rain on your parade but that's more likely 1800mAh, which is a decent power rating. Sanyo used to make Eneloops and then Panasonic bought them out.

It's no problem, I just made that assumption based on skimming some of the description. I'm a noob when it comes to this. Before learning these existed, a battery was a battery basically. I'm happy to be proven wrong if I make dumb assumptions.

So I felt like playing something and after looking through my various digital libraries and piles of games what do I start playing?  Plants vs Zombies on 360.  A game that I've beat at least 4 times on other platforms...

 
So, I guess I'll chime in on this Gimme5! fiasco.

I've totally tried to be patient.  I mean, I'm anxious to finally get an e-mail because I have no idea if I broke a rule or not.  I was able to claim something off each tab under my own login.  No deception, no claiming it for a girlfriend's/son's/whatever's account.  Nothing shady.  I work midnights at a hospital so I was able to refresh the link here and there to check.  I stayed up part of the morning doing the same when I got home.  Then I set my alarm to wake me up hour-by-hour to check on it.  I was lucky enough to get hit by a crampy poo right before the it started so I was able to get in on it when it started.   

Anyways, I put it out of mind for the week.  Come last Tuesday, the day-by-day, hour-by-hour email checking began again.  But I've also been watching their twitter.  It's insane the way Microsoft is handling this "celebration."  "Random" e-mails sent to reward members while stiffing others.  Then the grab-bag thing that started at 4:15ish in the afternoon, with super limited rewards, middle finger leftovers, and zero communication.  Following that, they repeatedly send out tweets to come get Gimme5! rewards that have been gone since the first few minutes of the giveaway.  Literally 99% of the replies are foul and scathing about how everything went down and the lack of communication. 

So now, it's amazing that with how ugly everything has gotten, they finally start firing off reward e-mail at 2pm (EST) in the afternoon - but only for a couple of hours before they call it a day.  Any questioning on the twitter account is replied with "check your e-mail."  Any replies about still getting nothing go unanswered.

There's NO WAY that the people running this thing don't realize that it's a great big cluster based on the sheer amount of hatred and saltiness it's generated.  It's hard to tell if they're completely inept, literally don't give a damn, or find it amusing to watch it all unfold.  But they also have to know that this is literally destroying the image of their loyalty program led by hardcore gamers.

So, it's frustrating that I'm still waiting.  But it's kind of fascinating to watch unfold too...

You're probably right, but there's no way MS doesn't realize what's going on.

You'd figure they'd be a bit more brand conscientious since they're still coming out of that E3 tailspin from a couple of years ago.

In regards to my earlier question about a battery charging station:

Yeah like I said I know there are the Energizer stations but those don't seem to work with the OEM MS battery packs. The same goes with the Insignia charger (which would be ideal) but I already own two MS battery packs and those are what I need to find how to charge easily like the stand from the 360. 

 
I never knew BB had their own brand Xbox controller charger. I was going to buy Xbox credit for this week's sale, but now I might buy that instead with the last of my store credit.

*edit* I just saw more pics and I really like how it connects directly to the side USB port. On top of that it also has it's own USB port on the front of it.

As mentioned previously, I bought Rainbow Six and my dad bought DI 3.0 full price last week. Any chance we could get a partial refund (like a price adjustment) due to the sale price? I understand that all digital sales on the Xbox Store are final, so I'm fully aware it's probably not something they do.

Again, I figure it's either impossible or a bad idea, but I thought I should check here anyway.

Super YMMV. I've only ever had it done once when I bought something that hadn't dropped its full amount during a sale, but it's worth a try. Just gotta give them a call.

 
I bought COD2 yesterday and I can't seem to download the free map pack DLC, any help? Tried downloading it from two different profiles, clearing the cache, deleting the corrupted data but it doesn't work. Goes to 34%, then to 51% and then fails.

Wonder when Microsoft will throw in the towel and just get rid of them. They are nowhere to be found on the dashboard, that I can see anyways. Not available on xbox.com. Only shows up on smartglass. Just admit they were a failure and get rid of challenges already.

Haven't paid attention or checked in a while but you used to be able to see them in the individual games achievement list, they'd look like normal achievements but had 0gs. There also used to be a section where you could see all the challenges you had that were expiring soon. Not sure if that's gone though

Also with all this Pickle talk has anyone else here ever eaten Wickles? They are like sweet and spicy pickles that have hot red peppers in the pickle juice. One of my favorite snack

I usually really enjoy single player campaigns, too. However, I don't hold it against Titanfall or SW: Battlefront (only two FPS' I've really played this gen) that they don't include them. It would have been nice, sure, but let's be honest...they would have been like 6 hours long and you only really get your money's worth with MP, anyway.

You're not alone, I pretty much only play single player campaigns too. I realize a lot of gamers enjoy the competitiveness of multiplayer but it's never been enjoyable to me. It doesn't help that, out of all the genres, FPSs are definitely not my best. On the rare occasion I have a friend that also owns a copy of the same game co-op can be a lot of fun (the Left 4 Dead games being the most enjoyable to me).
