So it sounds like Black Flag's season pass isn't worth it unless you care about multiplayer.

$10 - story DLC
$7 - 3 islands with minor stuff on them, plus MP skins
$1 - ship skin for single player
$2 - ship skins and weapons based on Ezio and Altair.

Liking the game a lot more that the last few Assassin's Creeds, at least since Brotherhood. 3 of these sound like junk, and they only added value is ANOTHER ship skin.

But, if I were to skip buying the story, would buying just a cheap DLC get you the bonus from Xbox Rewards? I wouldn't mind something if it was basically free.

Sorry I couldn't find a quick answer elsewhere to this, so with hard drives that have a DC source for power (and a power button probably), does it automatically power down with the Xbox? Am I going to have to turn on and off both devices every time?

What lizard squad is doing isn't hacking, it's denial of service. They flood the main central points of the Xbox Live service with millions to billions of requests per minute, and the servers can't keep up with the requests, so things stop working for awhile because the servers get overloaded.

It has nothing to do with a "Microsoft Security" team being bad, or Lizard Squad being that good, it's the fact that Lizard Squad has access to enough machines to overload the server infrastructure which runs some of Xbox Live (all they have to do is fine the weakest point of the Live Service, IE: something like an authentication server which might take 0.5-1 seconds per request to return an authentication status, and overload it, that will bring down the service).

No, you'd have to turn it off by the button or unplugging it yourself. If your Xbox goes into standby mode, it's not really off anyway, and the harddrive won't be actively used unless it wakes up, so it'll go into a power save mode. If your Xbox turns off completely, again, the external hard drive should go into a power save mode because there's no active connection via USB to talk to.

Twitch really wanted me to edit a recent broadcast. 158 emails letting me know to edit it within an hour. I deleted the broadcast. Anybody else that streams from Twitch app on Xbox One have this problem?
 
Man, I'm so disappointed in NHL 15. Gameplay is decent enough, but seriously, Ultimate team is either exhibitions or online play, and I'm not good enough for the latter at this point. Sucks because I really want to play hockey now that the playoffs are in full swing, but there is literally no point in playing NHL 15.

 
Was thinking the same thing about NHL15. Ultimate team mode sucks. It is completely barebones and horrible compared to Madden or NBA. Glad I didn't buy it for $30. Only cost me a $5 EAAccess month...

Past Twitch broadcasts are only saved for a short period of time. If you edit the broadcast (super limited editing tools, just setting the start and stop points and nothing else) to create a highlight, you can keep that highlight for far longer (maybe indefinitely, I forget). Highlights show up on top of your away image when you're not broadcasting.

It's good to make them. But also a pain since almost nobody watches past broadcasts or highlights, and NONE of the Twitch apps support watching replays because of the awful format Twitch uses for them. Exporting the full broadcast or highlight to YouTube is generally the best option if you want people to watch.

I had stuff I was supposed to do today and I procrastinated and downloaded Defense Grid 2 for $6.25 on XB1...

Yea... I played that for seven hours.

What an addicting game. Gold or Silver the first 12 levels. Then stuck on 13 for like three hours trying to get bronze. What a nice intense tower defense game.

It didn't happen to me, but I know twitch had some problems today. Whole site was down for half an hour, plus Twitter and email notifications weren't working either.

Good explanation EastX, but I interpreted the question as "Why does Twitch want you to edit the broadcast?" Especially because they sent so many emails.

I should have used the word highlight instead of edit. Using edit can be seen as they want me to censor something. They always send an email after a broadcast to remind you to make highlights before the broadcast is deleted. They are available to highlight for 2 weeks.

I don't think I'm understanding what you're saying.

The biggest satisfaction of hitting that milestone for me is that I have a family and a full time job. The majority of the time I spent doing it was from 8pm on.

Seems like the only work around for people with that problem is to get it through console marketplace. Was the only way I could do it. You could try on a smartphone, maybe smartglass app will work, but not sure if it allows purchases that way.

EA Access should probably be one of your first purchases with an XB1. I think it's a fantastic value.
 
Quick question... I've been purchasing the games with gold via the internet, and it automatically downloads them when I turn my 360 on.  Is there a way I can change the settings so they're just added to a list and I have to manually dl them?  That's how it works on my xbone
