Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.

From the freebie thread :

Last one appears to be a Gold only freebie.

I think RE will go lower. I'm holding off myself.
If I were you, I'd hold off too. I'm fairly far into the game right now, and while the graphics are definitely impressive compared to the last few re hd releases, that is about it. It does feel like a new re game with a few familiar places.

The left analog controls are crap, you can even see in ign walkthrough videos that you will end up going in the wrong directions a lot of times because of the camera angles involved.

Im currently playing this on easy mode from the 3 available modes, normal, easy, easiest, cause i shot the first zombie in normal mode like 7 times and it ended up killing me....crazy.

There are limited slots for carry inventory and even less inventory stash boxes around. It truly is a nightmare trying to manage all the items. The 5+ second loads for each time you walk through a door. This whole game involves walking through doors!

Finally the biggest problem I have with this game is the map and key system. Unless you can remember or know for certain what key opens what damn door, then you'll be going back and forth, cause the damn map does not show the corresponding key to the locked room. Im literally just going around in circles wasting a lot of time trying to find a sword, shield, etc key door. If I want to look at the map, well I better pull up my inventory screen first, cause theres no shortcut.

I just feel like im doing all sorts of things or completed little tasks out of order as there is no in game direction to what you should be doing next. That wouldnt be a problem if we were given a small area, but this mansion seems a lot larger than when i played it 20 years ago.

A written guide with no pictures would be pretty complex for this game, and a video guide just takes all the fun out of it.

Thought it would have been a step up from re 20 years ago, but its just a nice graphical remake of a remake. Since RE 5, RE just isn't as fun as it used to be.

How's Far Cry 2? Collection is under $20 on Amazon.
Sweet. Is every game on disc or are they digital codes? I heard either this or the PS3 version has two of the games as download only.

I want the disc version of these games.

Double Dragon Neon is $2.49!!!
YES! My Plus subscription expired so this is exactly what I was waiting for. Double Dragon Date Night is a success.

Double dragon worth it?
YES! The soundtrack alone is worth the purchase.

To those who already own the game, what's your favorite stage theme/mixtape?

Here's mine:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl9Nz-X4M68

Is CoD actually on sale again?!?!?
Another win. I've been wanting Call of Duty Classic to go on sale and now it's here.

I own it on the 360 and it really didn't age well. Trust me on this one.
I think Far Cry Classic looks pretty good and plays even better. Complete opposite of Call of Duty since using stealth and ammo are the keys to winning. I thought it was hard to play and it was on the easiest setting. Yet I managde to beat it and had a great time playing through it.

Does double dragon have online co-op?
Even better, it has .... BRO-OP!

High Five!!

great minds think alike. First song that came to mind was this one. Showing my age here a bit...but this is such a throwback to the mid 80s, sounds like something I would have jammed to in the car as a child riding around with my mom and dad.

With the lack of Arcade and DLC sales, I decided to break down and buy Torchlight (last on sale 3 years ago) and the Enslaved DLC "Pigsy’s Perfect 10" (never on sale) at regular price.  Had some xbl money expiring in July anyway, and with the way Microsoft likes to pull things without notice, I didn't want to miss these.  If they go on sale next week you can thank me! :D/

I'm pretty sure black ops has never been as low as $10 on xbox live.  i don't have the disc anymore but i have the dlc. Just been waiting forever to buy the game. Now is the time!

This is exactly the crap I'm talking about. We get sale after sale of big name publisher games almost everyone one has or has the opportunity to buy every few weeks on sale. Then we have arcade games and smaller retail stuff that almost never goes on sale. Just getting really tired of this.

If it wasn't required for online gameplay, there's no way I'd be subscribing to Gold. Half-assed sales and mostly mediocre Games with Gold.....urgh....

disagree

i think the game is amazing, i was surprised how well it aged

Overall sounds like you just don't like the classic style of RE. A lot of these are general complaints about the style that fans who prefer the action-focused game have.

A few things. There's a reason I was bitching about the "new" control scheme when it was announced for RE-REmake, and that's because it's shit for a game with fixed camera angles. RE2 N64 had it, and it led to the same problems. Even DMC1 has it, but it's helped by some moving cameras here and there, along with a lock on system that allows you to move and attack.

If anyone wants to play the game as intended, here are some tips

-Change to Classic movement in Options. This is the original tank controls. Clunky, but how the game was designed

-Change to the B button layout instead of A. Again, changing back to the layout the game was designed for

-Optional - Change sub-weapon use to manual. Automatic doesn't really hurt, but it was originally manual, this lets you choose to save items.

-Do NOT feel the need to kill all enemies. You'll do better if you try to simply avoid enemies from time to time. Plus more dead zombies can make the later part of the game harder.

-There is a Map button, not sure how you missed it.

-Jill is easy mode, bigger inventory and Lockpick, plus Barry as a helper sometimes. Play her first if the game is hard for you. Though Chris does have more health to balance it out a bit.

Only thing I haven't figured out how to change back is auto-aim. It wasn't on by default in the original. Doesn't necessarily hurt, but I've never preferred it when it's been an option in RE.

REmake really is the pinnacle of the survival horror genre. The somewhat limited map and limited inventory slots along with low ammo count are designed to make you think about what you are doing, and add to the atmosphere of the game. You're supposed to feel like you're struggling to survive.

As for the price, the HD release is only 3 months old, it will obviously be cheaper in the future. Grab it for the slight discount if you're really interested, or wait if you aren't dying to play it. It's not for everyone, but there's definitely a reason it's so highly regarded. It's a same most people missed out on the GC original release, maybe we wouldn't have gone down the path the series did after Mikami left if it sold better back then.

First playthrough is the hardest.

The inventory management is a bitch your first playthrough. Once you know what you need and when you need it, the limited inventory isn't a big deal. I might do another playthrough this weekend for fun. Doesn't take long when you know what to do.

I don't know what is up with your camera and controls. The game compensates for the camera changes if you are using new controls. Only would be a problem if you wiggle the stick a lot. Just hold the direction you want to go when the camera changes and you'll be fine.

-Do NOT feel the need to kill all enemies. You'll do better if you try to simply avoid enemies from time to time. Plus more dead zombies can make the later part of the game harder.

- This is what I dislike about the analog. Most games I play don't have this fixed camera bs, so I'm not use to it, and not getting use to it. For example; I was in a corridor with 2 zombies laid out flat, got pass them camera changes,, 2 more zombies already up and running

ahead of me and couldn't tell you if they were down or standing to begin with. 4 zombies on me, got pass them, I had to go straight, right, straight, left, straight, then right again, all while each time the camera angle changed with each direction, and all in this tight spaced corridor, managed to get by all of them, only for me to get slashed by one of them with one more right move needed to the door to get out, but the camera angle changes, and just a tiniest slight of pressure off the analog and i'm running backwards straight into them.

-There is a Map button, not sure how you missed it.-where? there was no tutorial, and I briefly glanced the button config.

-Jill is easy mode, bigger inventory and Lockpick, plus Barry as a helper sometimes.-using her, you mean Chris has less? pft.

Overall sounds like you just don't like the classic style of RE. A lot of these are general complaints about the style that fans who prefer the action-focused game have.

I did like classic RE games, when it was, what it was, for its time. I have played every home console released RE game and every RE port with the exception of RE Revelations 1 and RE ORC. A few decades ago, I wouldn't give two shits cause it woulda still been better than battletoads from outer space on snes, however, this is 2015 and most of us already made note that we hate that stop and shoot shit, it makes no sense.

This game is just a bag full of mess. The only people who can play this game, and at the end give this game a top rating while ignoring all the irritating shit thats tied in it, are the hardcore fan boys. You'd think at least think they'd do away with the doors and load times in 2015, but no, we must wait like we own a psone, all for the sake of feeling the "survival horror. " Im a guy, and in those 5 seconds I wait for that fucking door to open, I think about Jennifer Lopez ass and forget what im doing. Out of 10 I rate this a I dont give a shit, to give a rate. You know what this game is? Its like watching Knightrider again after 20 years in HD, then wonder why you thought that talking car was the shit in the first place. RE R2 is better.

I was just watching a Screw Attack "Top 10 most overlooked games of last gen (360 / PS3 / wii)" and was quite suprised to see Double Dragon Neon on their list. They also mentioned the soundtrack as being one of the highlights of the game.

Does anyone know if table imports work on Pinball FX2 for new purchases? I know it worked on tables puchased before the Xbox One version came out. Wondering if I buy a Star Wars table pack on 360 if I would be able to import to X1.

Yes - just did it yesterday for two of the three table packs on 360 and then imported them through the game on XB1 (tho I think it may also show free in the Marketplace/Store via console).

It will. Always buy your tables on 360 they will carry over to windows 8.1, and Xbox 1. If will not work the other way around. On Xbox one go to the table it will say buy game. Its OK it won't charge you. When you click on it it says you already own this table do you want to Install it. Click yes and it will download. Most of the same achievements are there. The star wars ones have achievements now on Xbox 1

HA. Waiting years for a Double Dragon Neon sale has finally paid off!

...seriously, what the fuck. This is the first time that game has ever been on sale.

Thanks ... didn't even think about Win 8.1

It does. I just bought Heroes Within this morning and immediately was able to buy the Xbone version for free.

Ugh I should have gotten when it was $16 before. Oh well, free episode is free episode.
What are you talking about? I don't see a free episode.

Edit: So I'm confused. The Black Emporium is free for everyone on 360, but gold-only on Xbone?

The Black Emporium seems very familiar...was this in a previous game or was it already given out as a first edition bonus someplace?

Yeah, it was a location in Kirkwall in Dragon Age II, that was part of the Online Pass (i.e., buy the game new) when EA was doing those.

Ah cool, ok yeah I remember now. Was reading it's description and was like "yup been there before but don't remember it in DA:I"

-There is a Map button, not sure how you missed it.-where? there was no tutorial, and I briefly glanced the button config.

Yeah, Map is a face button on A and B settings, I think RB on C setting. Just hit all the buttons, you can't waste resources unless you are aiming.

If this stuff bothers you so much, play RE Deadly Silence for the DS instead. It's the original RE1, not REmake, but it allows you to skip door screens, and your inventory is always on the bottom screen, which allows for instant use of items. It seems like you've just lost patience over the years if you were fine with it 15 years ago but can't stand it now.

I don't think it's really fair to expect such drastic changes unless this game gets a RE-RE-REmake to a Modern or Revelations style. If anything, that will probably be what they do if RE2 ever gets remade.

Sorry. Buying the season pass saves you the cost of an episode. Now that its on sale, its like getting another free episode in my mind. Sorry, wasn't clear on that lol.

It's not about money. I have a wife and four kids. Space is limited
I used to balk at people that said things like this, then I had a kid and realized how precious space becomes. They take up much more space than their tiny frame would suggest. Digital for me lately too.

Ah, I see. I also hate my money.
It's not about money. I have a wife and four kids. Space is limited. I don't have a bunch of video games out in an easily accessible area. Digital is fast, convenient, clutter free and I don't have to take the little mermaid out of the disc drive to play my games.

Now a completely unrelated question. I broke down and got the Star Wars hd collection. I never got an email confirmation or anything. Will the bonus stuff like the pinball table come as a code in an email eventually, or what? Anyone bought it that knows?

Edit: why is 1/8th of my post up there? Stupid phone.

I've got $67 in MS space bucks that expire June 1st. That gives me 3 more date nights to use it or lose it. I really only want to spend it on games and DLC for the One. I already have Unity and no real interest in an overpriced Far Cry.

I wouldn't mind a good price on Dragon Age. I almost bit last time but I didn't want to over pay for the "Deluxe" edition.

Customer will receive redemption codes for either Xbox 360 or Xbox One versions of X™ Pinball Pack and Angry Birds™ Star Wars® based on console ownership. Codes must be redeemed by July 31, 2015.
They must have extended it because the e-mail I had from many days ago said it ended the 5th of May.

Definitely in for Black Ops. Really want that zombie resurrection pack, but it kind of seems pointless to pay more for DLC than for an entire game. Wish they would put some map packs on sale too.

Awesome, thanks!
Also from Xbox Rewards Missions:

Want to create your own master movie collection? We’ll give you 5,000 Reward Credits for each film you buy to make the entire franchise your own.†

Don’t wait… just buy additional HD movies in the series from the Xbox Store between now and May 22. Building your dream collection just got a whole lot more rewarding!
5,000 Reward Credits for each movie

April 22 - May 22, 2015
I'm not sure if that would qualify, but it should since you are buying a complete collection.

And Xbox Rewards have removed the $1 reward for play a Game with Gold for 10 hours...

It was included in the hardened edition, maybe you can find a code somewhere (or even a cheaper new copy?)

Thanks for the heads up ... pretty disappointing it has already been left to wither on the vine

Just a reminder that the Complete edition has the DLC on disc which can be downloaded to your HD and is compatible with the GoD title.

ie free DLC if you can find it with a rental from GS...
AFAIK the complete edtion never came out here....although even then I would like my own copies of the dlc. Never just installed something and returned it.

Just when I finally have enough space to actually play the GWG for that time frame....Xbox Rewards get less and less appealing...only more of these throw money at this and that and you will get a laughable discount back...

Holy crap, they just dumped all of the Pinball Arcade tables on us at once. 360 owners rejoice or wince?
Sadly I already own the game and it's only the 4 tables that come with the game...and if you want to "complete" it you would have to buy more dlc hum. Anyway not complaining..since I got my copy for free years ago too.

I have an August birthday so I'm still bitter I never got my birthday quarter since they started that in Sep and ended it the next July and then we're just sending birthday cakes to print and eat the paper.
