I played the beta on XB1, and yes, definitely give it a shot. If you like the normal ES games this will have enough content for you still since the story and guild quests are single player only, while there is also a lot of multiplayer content as well if you want to give that a go. I got my copy preordered and will be picking it up day one for sure, I recommend ordering it if you do want to try it since the bonus lets you play any race in any faction and that's a nice bonus.

 
I decided to pick up Rouge Legacy while it was still 20% off, and I am so glad I did. Just got done streaming it for about 4 hours (would have played for longer if I wasn't so tired) and it was a blast. Definitely one of the best metroidvania style games I've played. The game can be pretty brutal at first, but the more you play it and the higher you level up your character the easier it gets. It sort of reminds me of how Harmony of Despair's leveling works. Kinda grindy, but a fun kind of grindy. If you're on the fence I definitely recommend getting it!

The Swapper is released in only a matter of hours. I had the chance to play it early for reviewing purposes, which I'm not linking purely because it's not in English. Anyhow, it's majestic. Amazing artstyle, very novel concept, impressive atmosphere, challenging but fun puzzles, surprisingly deep storyline, and easy achievements if you follow a guide (otherwise good luck getting ANY of them). Very much recommending it.

That stuffs no joke. There was a chick i worked with that was a huge gamer that had to get surgery for it it got so bad with her. You really should see a doctor as a few people have mentioned. Let it go too long and you may wind up where she wound up. She was pretty young too, early 20's. I actually started to have some issues with my right hand. Back when i played PC games a LOT. Old Everquest days, heh. It kinda went away when i cut back on PC gaming but sometimes the hand will kinda 'claw up' or give me issues.

I actually played the beta and then got it at launch. However the support for it is horrible. I quit because a bug early on wiped out my entire gold and bank account supply. It took weeks to get any sort of response from CS, then eventually their solution was just to give me some gold to compensate me for the slots and items and money i lost.... fuck that. Worst CS i've ever received in a game im paying a monthly fee for. I think its free to play now but screwing customers over like that really leaves a permanent bad impression

Thanks for all the advice on the hands. I actually see a neurologist for an unrelated issue and I have my 3 month check on Tuesday so I will tell him about it.  Sorry some of you have problems also but it makes be feel a tad relieved this is not some strange occurrence.

Yep. The Swapper was on my Top 10 list for 2014 due to its awesomeness. It's kind of like a 2D Portal in terms of the Eureka moments when you realize how to solve a puzzle and that your gun only has two functions that can used in a variety of inventive ways like the Portal gun. That first realization of what the Swapper gun can really do is an amazing moment.

I agree these games have lots potential but I'm going to wait and see how they are received.

Fallout 4 - likely not out for a year at least

Arkham Knight - Rocksteady pissed me off with the ludicrous pricing for their "DLC" content that is already in development along with the base game

Halo 5 - 343 does not have the best track record with making games that function, will be holding off.

BLOPS 3 - didn't play the first 2 so likely will skip this one

AC: Syndicate - I want this game to be awesome but with Unity being the POS that it was will wait for reviews

SW: Battlefront - has the potential to be incredible, or a BF clone...

Rise of the Tomb Raider - in for one.

I will never understand this. What problems did Halo 4 have? People seem to forget MCC was outsourced. The Halo 5 beta was working properly. I guess it is easier to blame them for everything though.

 
I'll probably preorder halo 5, battlefront, fallout 4 and maybe tomb raider. With them being $48 + $10 gift card at best buy it makes it easier to preorder.

Everything else is on my radar, especially Battleborne. The older I get the more I want to play online multiplayer games, fighting against predictable dumb ass programmed computer AI in single player games is so played out. Arkham Knight and Fallout are the exceptions.

Personally, I'd recommend ESO over Batman. The price of both will drop in a decent time frame, but ESO has more content and a better preorder bonus.

That's interesting. The older I get, the less inclined I am to wade into the cesspool that is multiplayer console shooters. So many kids acting like such fools. I'd take a well made single player experience any day. One of the reasons that I really enjoyed Wolfenstein last year.

I get that but personally I don't really experience unruly kids or anything when I play online. And even if I do then most games allow you to mute annoying people. Listening to other guys troll and trash talk to random people is hilarious to me. I just find the social interaction of MP games more entertaining than killing a programmed enemy over and over.

That's what I was thinking too. But between dark souls 2 and witcher 3, I just don't see myself playing another rpg for a little while. Thanks for the advice though. More food for thought.

#IDARB is getting a large update that will add and fix stuff. Multiplayer over XBL will be 4 Xbox Ones instead of 2. Weird way to do multiplayer.
 
Too bad Wolfenstein didn't have a multiplayer mode. That was one of the best games I have played in a while. Will definitely be buying the old blood when it goes on sale.

The only thing that pisses me off in online gaming is people who play objective games and don't play the objective. For example, in hardline you have a game mode called heist where the criminals have to capture two money packages. The cops have to stop the two packages from being dropped of at two different helicopter sites. The only way the package is dropped is if a cop kills you or you run out of bounds. You got people who hold on to the damn package and fuck around and cost you the game. I dont mind the shit talking cause I let my play do the talking.

or the snipers in Battlefield that don't play the objective, crash vehicles to get to their "sniper spot", and then proceed to only get 2 kills and a score of 300 in a 15 minute game. Ever since BF3, if I have those guys on my team I just spawn on them with an ammo bag and throw down smoke grenades.

I hear this complaint a lot but I swear 90% of the time I'm playing an online shooter no one is wearing a mic. I guess that can be it's own problem in games with complicated objectives, but I find most of my online gaming to be perfectly enjoyable with little frustration.

It's too bad that with all of the data that games track now that they somehow don't check for this sort of behavior and suspend or block people from playing gametypes they clearly aren't playing correctly.

I've had some pain off and on from various things but it never lasted very long or came back that quickly if I took a day or two off. When I did a weekend bender on the Smite beta it really set it off in a way that's beseem hanging around since.

Halo 4 had glitched and unobtainable achievements for almost 3 years before 343 even acknowledged that there was a problem. Some of the outsourced parts of MCC seem to be the best, like te cutscene upgrades. I don't know who did the online but that's the part that seems most broken.

Yeah, but we get the swapper AND steam world dig this week (supposedly) so that makes up for it.

Halo 4's glitched achievements were only that way for about a year. The game came out in 2012, on Election Day, so it's impossible for them to have been glitched for 3 years.

The bigger issue with 343i is that they seem to take credit for things like Halo Anniversary and The Master Chief Collection, when they had little to no involvement with either. That's what I find annoying, and what makes me understand why people blame them for the faults that occur. Had they boldly been like "it's all of these other companies all along, thank (or blame) them; we're focusing on the next big title" then I don't think people would blast them so much.

Thanks man! I got steam world as soon as you posted this, then I remembered when zombie army trilogy first came out and I got it right away. Half an hour later there was a gold discount of $10 off. I'm waiting a few hours to get the swapper JUST IN CASE. I'm at work anyway and can't play anything until tomorrow night.
