I really liked the first one, but I don't think it is worth $7.50 at this point. A disc version is likely cheaper than that. The story and world set up in AC 1 is my favorite. Most people hate that one, so chances are I'm one of the few that would tell you to play it.

I liked AC 3 but it does have a very slow start. Story wise the slow burn is done well, and is interesting, but not very fun. Also, the ending sucks. For what it is worth, Brotherhood was good until the last missions (the ending was also dumb) and I hated Revelations. The story was just horrible and they ruined Atlair. :(

I did enjoy it, although I only played the first couple sequences. As for disc versions, I've never found a copy for under $10

Oh wow. I don't think I've ever looked up the price (I bought the CE day 1), and just figured it would be one of those ones that goes for like $5 since I'm sure GS had lots of trade-ins back in the day.

 
Got BF4 Premium Edition.

As for Ass Creed, I've played all but AC3 and Unity. Liked Brotherhood till the end, AC2 was great, Revelations and AC1 were a pain, and so far Black Flag is great. I own AC3 but decided to skip it for Black Flag. Eventually I'll play it but like others have said, I've not heard good things.

Really fun and simple game if you like hidden object games. Played through the Xbox One version last night in one sitting. Very easy Gamerscore and none of the puzzles are challenging. Good if you want something relaxing to play.

 
wow, the Season Pass for Metro Last Light does not come with Ranger Mode. What horse shit. I feel slimy paying for a difficulty mode, but eh, I guess a total of $6+ for everything lessens the pain.

Should I get Revelations or Brotherhood?

 
Not super-thrilled about this week's sales so I guess I'll pull the trigger on Rayman Origins and hope it becomes backwards-compatible.

Really surprised by the free upgrade on Castle Crashers, perfect timing considering we were just complaining about lack of crossbuy.

And including the BL DLC for free is also a nice touch, I doubt we'll see 2 or the Pre-Sequel given the collection, but I guess I can live with that.

Count me among those who missed out on the Goat Simulator for Xbone due to lack of advertising. Thought it was only free for 360, luckily my younger brother decided to purchase it for himself on my Xbone so I still have access to it.

Really weird time to have a Last Light sale, guess it was one of those GWG sales that they forgot to implement.

Edit: Sucks cross-buy for CC will not always be free. But better than nothing, I suppose.

Why is it Gold-only though? That seems kind of bullshit. It's not like it was a GWG.

Hard for me to hate AC1, since it got it all going. I thought Rev was bad, but I'm just hitting sequence 7 in AC3, and this is real pain. After all these hours I'm finding it hard to care at this point. I love the AC series, but I'm thinking of jumping into Black Flag just to save my sanity.

Ass creed 2 will always be my favorite.Brotherhood and Revelations were alright for continuation. Ass creed 1 introduced the series and did it well so no hate there. Ass creed 3 was kinda boring. I just didn't care for the characters as much and it introduced naval battles which I hated. And thus I hate ass creed 4 for naval battles as well. Never played Unity but heard bad things.

I didn't hate AC1, honestly was blown away when I first played it. But I had to push through it towards the end, stayed up to beat it and go to the midnight release for AC2. I would recommend starting Black Flag if AC3 is burning you out. Once you get to sequence 2 or 3 the world really opens up. Revelations can be skipped as well in my opinion, and I'm in no rush to play Unity as my friends weren't impressed with it.

If they for some reason didn't like how Activision were treating them they could make their Destiny games small scale projects on the side while putting serious work into something else wirh a different publisher. With their pedigree they could get any publisher.

This is just Bungie turned into, I don't think it's on Activision at all, actually.

Their contract leaked like a year before Destiny released. It made it sound like Bungie had most of the power but there were some things that probably meant it would be bad for Bungie if it sold poorly, and there was a restriction that no more than 5% of the studio could work on a Marathon side project, which would seem to mean they are locked in to being Destiny focused unless a totally separate new IP is allowed. I think this hints that Activision had more power than some people would have liked.

I kind of felt Bungie's change coming. Shortly after they went radio silent once Reach was finished, one of the head guys, Marcus Letho, left. He was gone for a while but seemed to be convinced to come back, then he left Bungie for good after a couple of months. Then we found out Destiny was coming a full year later than planned (based on the leaked contract), and Staten left. This was the big sign, he was so excited to be working on a new story in a fresh universe, a sentiment he was giving off when talking about ODST. He did the gameplay demo at E3 with Jason, which is always done by the dev leads for Bungie's demos, then he was gone a few months later with no notice and a short goodbye post on B.net. Marty being FIRED was the final alarm bell. This made zero sense and seemed literally impossible on so many fronts. I figured it was an override decision by Activision, but it quickly came out that it was Bungie's Board of Directors (which is two people). This is when I knew for certain Destiny was going to have problems, and a lot of my excitement dropped off.

I'm curious why the higher ups seem SO eager to please their publishers when I'm sure they had offers from virtually every publisher in the business. They should have a lot more authority than they did during the Microsoft days, but who knows. I have a hard time believing Marty became so unruly that firing him was the only option, and the fact that something changed Staten's mind some drastically that he left tells me the problems are bad enough that they're on Bungie's end. Not to mention the court siding with Marty.

Regardless, it's in the past now. I feel like Destiny 2 will take a hit on the sound side. If he really did write 4+ games of music at once I guess they'll get by, but I doubt he actually intended that. I wish I could say Staten being gone will start affecting Destiny 2, but we all know it affected 1 instead. I'm curious if he wrote the grimoire, or if someone came in and adapted as much of the cut stuff as still worked like the unconfirmed source said. Even if that wasn't true, I think the cards being absent in game aside from meaningless points gives it some credibility, especially when in game text lore is a Bungie tradition, in Halo and especially Marathon.

I just hope they get their heads out of their asses and release Music of the Spheres, even if they're going to be dicks and put Marty's name last like the Destiny Soundtrack.

It's way clunkier, way more unforgiving, way more unprecise, you can't swim, the collectibles are absolutely ridiculous, the checkpoint system makes you travel really long parts from time to time, it's a lot harder to escape/hide from bad guys, etc.. Is it a bad game? No, but AC2 basically corrected everything that was wrong with the first game, and going back to AC1 is a pain. The storyline in AC1 is one of the few that are pretty much self-contained, though, so unlike say Revelations or AC3 you can get a lot of enjoyment without necessarily playing other eps for the story. Though if you enjoy AC1 you'll probably enjoy the other games.

Could not agree more. AC1 was more proof of concept than anything. Great, original idea with some subpar execution. Still worth playing first, and I'm glad they took the risk on the IP.

AC2 fixes just about all the major issues, so if you really hate it (I had to take a break after getting stuck on one of the bullshit flag races), you can skip it if you really want to.

Is the $5 Minecraft upgrade officially over now?

The only AC game I finished was the second one, and it's really not my type of game. Too boring, too unpolished, too many dead parts. I started AC3 but after a few hours it felt like I was still doing a tutorial so I lost any interest.

Downloaded Black Flag but never started it, I guess it'll stay on my HDD for a while.

I enjoyed playing through it, and loved the ideas, but it definitely suffered in the gameplay mechanics department (which is why I say it's more of a proof of concept/tech demo). There was just a lot of unnecessary padding/repetition (mostly with the collectibles and side stuff), and it was generally rough around the edges (tons of asset reuse, for example). AC2 fixed a lot of that for me (and I think for most people), so I can imagine it'd be hard for some people to play it after playing through one of the more refined sequels.

Not a bad game by any means, but I wouldn't play through it again on 360. However I'd be open to playing the PC Director's Cut (possibly with mods).

AC1's formula was "Do these 3 things 4 times!" Which makes me laugh when the weakest parts of Black Flag are the actual Assassin segments.

It's almost like the Templars wanted people to get the idea that being an Assassin was a tedious and boring job.

I hate to dogpile on Evolve, but after an hour of multiplayer I can say it's NOT worth my $20. The concept is cool and it looks pretty but plays like rubbish. I had several rounds as hunter and monster but didn't like either. Plus there's the waiting between rounds that feels like an eternity.

I'll be on standby for someone to call me a noob and to go back to play my baby games.
 
So it looks like Rise of the Tomb Raider is dropping "traditional" multiplayer.  Are we going to have to go to the Supreme Court now to decide what multiplayer is actually?  Anyway, I would assume some sort of horde mode will be implemented.

So it looks like Rise of the Tomb Raider is dropping "traditional" multiplayer. Are we going to have to go to the Supreme Court now to decide what multiplayer is actually? Anyway, I would assume some sort of horde mode will be implemented.

Something like MGSV's FOBs would be cool. Design and upgrade your own tomb with traps. Have other players try to get through it. I'd fill mine with dinosaurs.

I really want Instincts Predator to be BC

Great game as well. Beat it a few years back after playing Blacklist.
 
Conviction is so badass. If you go into it like a season of 24 or Taken then you'll enjoy it way more than if you go into it like "I want a hardcore Splinter Cell game!!"
 
If you read the GS story that goes with that image, it says Ubisoft is asking gamers which titles they would like to see BC. So I don't think that image means all of those will be BC.

Exact same can be said for Blacklist. I beat Blacklist and enjoyed it so much I picked up Conviction. Picked up Double Agent on a sale few weeks ago... Having a harder time getting into that one.

I enjoyed playing through it, and loved the ideas, but it definitely suffered in the gameplay mechanics department (which is why I say it's more of a proof of concept/tech demo). There was just a lot of unnecessary padding/repetition (mostly with the collectibles and side stuff), and it was generally rough around the edges (tons of asset reuse, for example). AC2 fixed a lot of that for me (and I think for most people), so I can imagine it'd be hard for some people to play it after playing through one of the more refined sequels.

Not a bad game by any means, but I wouldn't play through it again on 360. However I'd be open to playing the PC Director's Cut (possibly with mods).
