If it's the cloud achievement thing that's messed up you guys will probably get them at random points in the future, I know it's happened for me before with achievements when they act up. Just pop up out of nowhere saying I did the thing. 

 
no achievements popping over here. They don't even say Done! Unlocking.... like they usually do when this issue turns up. I'm not playing Fallout 4 until this issue gets resolved. Imagine playing through the game for 20 hours and missing out on a Bobblehead achievement or some shit. I would hate life.

 
I somehow must have missed seeing Monday Night Combat in the BC list and I was surprised to see it in my Ready to Install list. I hope the online is still alive.

Yep, same here. Just finished a quest in Fallout 4, no pop, no "Done! Unlocking...", just nothing. Luckily I have a save from immediately before.

another thing...in My Games And Apps, you used to be able to hide games from your ready to install list, now you can't. Who is the ass head who designed this thing??

Seriously. Between all the deleted demos, trials, gwg and bc games I don't want to install right now, my "ready to install" list is as long as my actual games list.

Took me a while to find it but if you click on your gamertag on the dash and then achievements it won't be a snapped list.

Thanks for that, but still. Why can't I just simply click on the Achievement app and get a full screen showing of my achievements like I used to? Why make it so cumbersome to get to there by having to go through the profile? I should never have downloaded this thing, I still have my 360 so BC is practically useless to me and I'm already not happy with a lot of these changes.

 
I hear ya. I hate the new setup too. And while I like backwards compatibility I don't necessarily need it nor will I be playing old games often. Guess it's more an OCD thing

That's when the codes to redeem to own the games will (start to) be sent. If you already own any of those games, they should be appearing in the list now.

 
Also noticed none of my achievement notifications are popping. The achievements are unlocking but I miss the satisfying *achievment unlocked*
 
Is anybody able to set anything as their dashboard background? I've tried to set a few images as the wallpaper and get the "Success!" prompt, but it's still just a black background. That seems to be broken.

I have no problems setting backgrounds.

However, I am having a myriad of other problems with the new update. I can't believe they pushed this out.

 
I'm browsing my Ready To Install list and interestingly Sonic The Hedgehog 2 pops up. I don't remember buying it, and a quick check on xbox.com reveals I indeed didn't. I didn't ever play it on my profile either, so I can't have a save up on the cloud or something. Will see if it works fine.

I always hear about others getting a free rental and it is pissing me off. Me ... I returned a 5-day rental of BLOPS3 (no free rental offer when I got it) and then I rented another game right when I returned BLOPS 3. Nothing.

Kids are having fun with Snoopy. Easy 900 GS for Dad. Can prob blast it out in about 2 hours.
 
I really like the update - everything is running much faster. I love the layout of the Achievements screen, seeing the hours you've played each game, easily compare with friends. Parts feel more like SmartGlass - which is great.

That said, I had the 'no achievement popping' issue last night, too. Luckily I quick-saved right before hitting Lvl 10 in FO4. Is this still happening for people?
 
So far the Backwards compatibility is meh at best. Anyone tried playing any 360 games online? Gears of War 3 feels like I am playing a game on a crappy streaming service (onlive)

 
All you guys having problems do a hard reset. Hold the power button down until it turns off. Turn it back on that fixes 90% of the problems

In addition to that addition. Hold down the power, let the system shutdown, then unplug the power from the wall or back of the console for 2 minutes and let the system completely discharge of all power.

 
Gem of War is really additive.  I loathe the match 3 style of game but thought I would give it a try for achievements and sure enough I have almost 10 hours into it already in less than 2 days.  It's a big annoying that when you run out of gold you have to wait a day to get more but that only happened to me once so far because I was quitting out so much, usually losing or winning will net you enough gold to carry on.  

Is there anyone who wants to get the Spartacus achievement for level 50 fame?  Servers are closing next month.  Looking for someone who can devote an hour or two each night especially with the triple xp going on til the end of the month.  Just send me a PM if interested.

I think this may have been "fixed." I only see search results for Fable II now. Also, the disc does not work yet.

The only Gears game that hasn't been free on GwG is Gears of War 2. So I imagine there will be lots of codes available for trade/giveaway. :)

When I tried to play it after downloading it, a popup asking if I own the game appeared. I think the same happened with Streets of Rage before it went BC but people were still able to play it by closing the popup, not working for me though. I don't have the disc or I would try with that.

I haven't played it in a while, but I've read that's what Gears 3 is like now. Particularly for people that live in the Southern US and frequently get matched with Mexican players.

Since their announcement includes thanks to those that already have the games, I wonder if they'll even send out codes for games that are already digitally owned. Won't bother me if I only get a code for Gears 2, but I imagine much wailing and gnashing of teeth if that ends up being the case.

I think that would piss off a bunch of people if they did that. I guess you could try playing the Gears of Wars Ultimate under another profile that doesn't already own the Xbox 360 Gears games.

FYI, right now Spartacus' 3XP is giving out less per match than previous 2XP events. People could earn 8k xp in a wager match before, now it is only 5.6k. People believe the base xp was reduced and have contacted the developers who reply with a canned response to play in certain arenas to get the most XP.

I've seen several people post that they got free rentals when they rented Fallout 4, not Blops or Snoopy so you could try that.

Be signed up for their text alerts and check free stuff section of these forums for the Redbox thread. Usually the free codes are for DVDs, but sometimes a game code slips in.
