The Wolfenstein deal is great but I think I am going to pick up the Old Blood from Amazon for $10 since I played the New Order already.  Just have too much to play to go back to old games.

You could also license transfer all of you content to her console. This would require you to login to XBox Live on your console to play your content on your console. Either way it is going to be very inconvenient just for this one game to work for her.

Honestly, just buy it again and save yourself the headache. You will have to gimp your gaming set-up to make this work and it really isn't worth the inconvenience.
 
Just impulse bought the Arkham Knight season pass. Didn't want to make it through the entire Black Friday sale without making a single digital purchase ;)

Lucky you for having that option. I live in Tucson which is one of the only places they don't offer unlimited data. I'm capped at 300 GB and went over this month after buying a second Xbox One and downloading a few games to both my consoles. If only I had remembered I could just transfer via external HD.

I feel your pain. I have one more free overage to use. It's either Comcast or dsl for me currently. Of course Verizon is in the subdivision next to me, taking their time coming to mine.

Ii's a PITA though, because you have to call in to activate or deactivate, and it is only for future months. You can't be on the cusp of going over and save your butt or anything.

Plus, it's $35. You'd have to anticipate using at least 500GB for it to be worth it. I've never gone over 350, even though a couple of months I had to really dial down usage for the last couple of days.

Does Comcast track your usage online? I am very fortunate to have unlimited but that would be a PITA to have to worry about how much data you use at home.

Yeah, they have a data tracker. I can't speak to how accurate it is, because there are some days that I can't have used that much data just VPN'ing to work. Not that I can do that much about it, though. I have considered filing a complaint to the FCC/FTC each time I get billed for an overage. Others have stated because they are forced to respond, the charges usually just get reversed.

$10 every other month or so isn't a huge deal, but it's the principle. They've already stated it's a pure money grab and not a usage issue. I also don't trust those fucks to stop at $10.

Because you probably won't get trampled firing up your Xbox or using the website.

Consider that $5 a convenience fee for not having to leave the house, put on pants, or talk to a person.

It really bugs me that a lot of people don't see the big picture when it comes to things like this. Yes it is usually cheaper for a physical copy and everyone just assumes that digital copy is worthless or should be cheap. Nope.

They've been "testing" in some states for the pass few years. Most have a monthly limit of 300gb and $10 for every additional 50gb. I've only gone over twice in two years. One was from upgrading my PS4 hdd. Had to re-download a good amount of games.
 
So far I've only pulled down Injustice, Wolfenstein bundle, Watch_Dogs base game (already had season pass), Trials Fusion Complete.

I am so glad I'm in an area where Comcast isn't testing those plans. I do about a TB of bandwidth of month on average. I'd be screwed if they actually enforced their caps in my area.

 
Further validating my purchase from BB this week, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 just received a massive update - and it includes being able to skate as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in their own campaign. Free, of course.

Yeah but digital games don't have a price to buy discs, print those discs, ship them to retailers. There's also no used digital games market.

Those are the reasons digital games should be cheaper (or atleast get a pricecut after a few months) than physical games.

It's to keep the retailers happy since they pre-buy copies assuming a certain amount of demand. For example, stores pre-bought game xxx, not knowing how much it will sell, how high the demand will be or how big a loss they may have to take in order to move the units.

With digital copies, there is none of that worry, as a shitty game can be put up, sell very little and have little net loss.

That's one of the biggest reasons you don't see that many PC games in retail because they will get undercut by places like Steam, meaning they will have a net loss for buying the games and not being able to sell them.

With physical games the profit is split between the publisher, MS/Sony/Nintendo (royalties), blue-ray sellers, blue-ray printers, shipment and retailers.

With digital games the profit would be split only between the publisher and MS/Sony/Nintendo

As long as people are dumb enough to buy it at prices comparable to retail they'll continue to charge retail prices.

I agree, but you have to know there would be someone out there who would redeem the digital version and sell/trade in the disc version, or keep the disc and sell the code for the digital version. That'd lose money for someone involved in the retail purchase. Can't have that, now can we?

cut out the fuck retailers like Apple did with iTunes. Am I supposed to feel sorry that their business relies on doing things in such an archaic way? Retailers adjusted their business with the fall of CD sales. They can do it again with games.

If retailers can't sell games anymore, then they won't bother selling consoles either and the console market would be much smaller, hence less games sold, hence less money for them.

Just because Apple sells music thorough iTunes, don't forget they also allow people to copy songs from a CD to iPod/iPhone.

IMHO the original X1 solution was the best: keep retail to get a digital-like license and allow to sell licenses through MS-authorized retailers (so everyone)
