This really depends on what you liked about Origins. Honestly Dragon Age Inquisition is the closest thing to Origins. I really hated 2 but they fixed virtually every issue I had for Inquisition, and the option of something close to the original combat is still there. The only other real options are Witcher III or Divinity Original Sin. Witcher has a great story with a fairly action oriented combat system. Divinity is closer to the old school games Origins roots were in, like Balder's Gate, with turn based combat. Overall RPGs are still kind of slim pickings on Xbone since we don't get most of the JRPGs.

Dark Souls 2 and soon 3 are probably next on the list, but they're very different from Dragon Age since they're hardcore Action RPGs with balls to the wall difficulty. Diablo III is another very different game. It has a focus on looting and combat rather than story like Bioware's stuff. The only iffy thing with it is Blizzard basically dropped support for it, all future updates like the season system are PC only.

If you like Origins because of the strategic combat you may want to check out Wasteland 2, though it's sci-fi like Fallout. It has a more classic sensibility like Divinity. Not having played the first game isn't a big deal since pretty much no one has at this point.

There are a few backward compatible games that might fit the bill too.

Thanks for all the responses. I just could not get into Inquisition but I had it on the 360. It felt like I would run around for hours just trying to find the next part of my quest and get jumped at all times with stuff that had nothing to do with the story and die. Maybe I am too old and too used to linear games lol.
 
I played about 10 hours of Inquisition on 360 and it was noticeably worse due to so many performance issues on top of being ugly.  I would say your issues are part of the the intended design though, so I'd pass still unless you the story really grabbed you. The game did feel better for me once I got used to it, but a lot of the quest stuff is pretty unclear all the way through. 

Having things appear farther than 10 feet away on One compared to 360 did help improve my experience a lot at least. You might see the enemies ahead of time rather than being ambushed as they materialize on top of you.

Diablo 3 is amazing and totally addictive. Put a good hour or two into it and there's a good chance you'll be hooked. If you want something more traditional, try Pier Solar. I haven't played it (waiting on a sale) but I've heard good things about it and it looks gorgeous.

I did not, but I was also curious about when it showed up on the Xbox store because it looked pretty cool. I read some reviews of the pc version and watched some gameplay vids and decided it looked like trash. This was almost a month ago so I don't remember specifics. Just beware.

So Quantum Break Reviews are supposed to drop tomorrow but Jim Sterling (I know some do not care for him) accidently published his this morning and then took it down.  Someone got it off Google Cache though.  His reviews can be all over the place but he gave QB a 8.5/10.  Here is the review.

Interesting note. There are 5 main acts with the TV show in between each one so there won't be a ton of TV to watch which I hope that means multiple playthroughs will be easier to see alternate live action stuff.

I know some people really like him, but i can't stand "The Jimquisition". However, usually he fucking hates anything Xbox, so I feel like this is a really good sign for Quantum Break. Definitely looking forward to playing it on Tuesday.

 
DA:I was a mess on the 360. My wife beat the game on the 360 and the system would freeze every few hours. Hell, towards the end the game would sometimes freeze once every 20 minutes. Needless to say that was her last 360 game and the only thing we use the 360 for now upstairs is Netflix.

I'm really curious what the devs do with PS4K and the souped up Xbox. I hope it doesn't come down to that type of optimization on the PS4/X1 down the road. My guess is most companies will focus on the older systems because of install base, at least for awhile.

My buddy was pretty dumb with DLC back in those days and bought ALL of them. They do make the game easier, though I'd recommend picking just one if you have to have one. They gave away the Xbox suit for free at some point, that one just gives you full inventory slots from the beginning.

I don't think they're really worth it unless you're doing the Insanity difficulty. The weapons especially so because the Pulse(?) Rifle is super overpowered if you dump all your nodes into it.

I hope the PS4K bombs. I know I'd be bothered if I had gotten a PS4 instead of and Xbox 5 months ago, I sure wouldn't be spending $400 to $500 more to upgrade. It really depends what they mean by "significant" performance boost on new games. If that just means 4K instead of 1080p that most people won't care. If it means the game runs like dogshit like Hyrule Warriors Legends on a regular 3DS then a shitstorm is coming. The fact that all currently released games will receive no benefit unless the devs put in the work to make a patch is just the cherry on top.

If Xbox does go through with the modular stuff, at least it's way better to pay a smaller amount to be able to upgrade alongside selling a redesigned console.

Either way, this just hurts the NX even more.

 
I have always enjoyed jim sterling, and find his reviews generally more harsh on AAA games so this has me quite intrigued in Quantum break, seeing it has a similar structure to Alan wake, will grab this when it hits 40

This is easily one of the best line ups MS has had. I own all the games but still will acknowledge that. Compare it to this month's PS+ line up and there's no comparison IMO.

Said this a few times, but GwG has, in the long run, been better than PS+ for freebies. Sony has the advantage when it comes to sales though (particularly flash sales).

I played through it on PS4 (exactly the same as XONE), it was one of the first games that wowed me with graphics, the AI, and the scope of the world.

I can't imagine how badly all these would look on >512MG RAM. Turok on the n64 draw distance?

In all seriousness, the complete edition is worth a second play through, and only runs $10-$30.

 
People are free to voice opinions on GwG, this month is better than the usual even if wolf among us doesnt interest me I know others do, however I don't really play online  anymore so unless the games become ones I want to play, I'm letting gold expire

The respective console suits were free briefly when the games came out (the Xbox 360 Elite suit and the Playstation 3 Obsidian suit). They are very helpful early in the game because you have more space for items and I believe they were a bit stronger too. Plus they looked cool.

I don't think I ever actually played Dead Space for long in the standard suit.

I'm simple but other than Deer God, I've been giddy about gwg every month because it's games that come packed in for free as an extra part of a service I already pay for. I know not everyone vis in that boat but my standards are super low as long as I get fuel for my backlog or my friends get cool games I already have.

I want to just be specific about the age of Dead Space. It was released 7.5 years ago. Old but not even almost a decade old. It won't even be a decade old until Oct of 2018. Plus it is still a great looking game.

 
I think they do a pretty good job on GWG of giving weird obscure things and old AAA things. Obviously new triple A games and bestselling indies are not going to be on GWG so taking that into account, I have played quite a few on 360 and Xbox One that I would have missed otherwise. Defense Grid, Civilization Revolution, both amazing that I would have never played.

Oh. Lol. I don't know how you guys remember all these people. I was just going by someone's comment and then looking at the "new" user's member date.

I might be a rare exception, I don't know, but when I'm on CAG and other forums, I don't really look at or pay attention to user names at all (sorry). I read the content and see if it pertains to the topic and/or if it interests me, then I move on. I've always found it interesting how you guys seem to remember people. To me, everything online is ethereal. It doesn't seem "real"/tangible. Maybe it's the way my brain works, but I can't mentally/emotionally attach a personality to a random user name. I mean, I know there's a real person typing your posts. In real life and on TV/radio I have an actual voice and/or appearance to relate to; online, it's all just digital characters that I'm looking at so as soon as I'm done absorbing that content, it's gone (if that makes any sense...).

Anyhoo, I'm psyched to play Wolf Among Us tonight. I remember when Ep 1 was free that one Christmas; the story telling was so good and that cliffhanger ending!
