For anybody who's had expirable MS money before.. how exactly does the system spend this? I currently have $135 on my account and getting this extra 10 that expires at the end of the year. So if I spend 10 bucks, will the remaining money be safe or will that expirable money be left in there? 

 
My Microsoft E3 conference predictions:

Show opens with Halo Wars 2 video, followed by release date for Xbox One and Windows 10 in November 2016.

Next up a car is revealed from the back, video of 1080p cars driving around, Forza Horizon 3 video. Release date for October 2016.

Next up someone from ID@Xbox comes out, montage of ID@Xbox games coming over the next year. Announces a big ID@Xbox event happening over the summer with showcase games and great discounts on there favorites.

Now some Capcom exec takes the stage, Zombies all over the screen. Dead Rising 4 coming in October just before Halloween.

Now Rare is up on Stage, in-game footage for there new Pirate game Sea of Thieves. Coming Spring 2017.

But wait before Rare leaves the stage now Yooka-Laylee is being shown. Guy from the Yooka-Laylee team comes out. Exclusive to Xbox version in partnership with Rare, Banjo-Kazooie will be a playable character in some multiplayer version of the game.

It will use what's expiring first before your normal balance. If you're a XBL rewards member it's the same as when you get a deposit from that.

Harmony SmartControl (w/ smart control app). I paid $70 at the end of 2015. One of the best tech decisions I've made in a while. It controls everything in my media stack, Bluetooth or IR, including my cheap HDMI switch. The remote is simple and easy for everyone in my family to use, but has all the buttons you'd need. The base station sends the signals to the devices so you don't need line of sight for the remote to those devices. Using the smartphone app to reconfigure buttons is a breeze (you can also bind functions to long press different than tap). And I can use the app when I want to turn things on when I don't have the remote handy (from another room).

It was the opposite for me yesterday. The season pass and DLC were revoked, but the full game was still in my account. This morning all of the Fallout 4 stuff is gone from https://account.xbox.com/en-US/MyGames :(

I did have some $19.95 refund from Xbox Live Rewards and supposedly I'm getting a $10 credit from MS at the end of June.

I own the official media remote and it's OK. it uses IR so it requires line of sight to the console, which is often an annoyance to me. sometimes i will point the remote directly at the console and it doesn't respond the first time.

also, the media remote does not have keys to mimic the XYAB buttons of the controller. this is a problem with some apps whose main features require those buttons, especially YouTube.

I also wish they would have thought to add a headphone jack to the remote. A dedicated power on/off button would have been nice, too. i know you can still hold down the logo button like the controller, but still...

One of the nice features of the remote is its motion-activated backlit keys. but i would trade that feature to have one of the above problems fixed.

Another nice thing is the remote doesn't power off like a controller does. it's always on and ready to go right when you pick it up. i like to give feedback on youtube when i'm watching on xbox and too often i'm scrambling to power on my controller so i can hit thumbs up before the video ends (this could be fixed by youtube if they had a 10-second menu that automatically pops up when videos end)

the remote could have been better, could have been worse. it's nice to have when i have company over and don't want them fussing with a controller on my "media center."

anyone else have a problem with CAG adding double-spacing after you edit a post? it's not a formatting issue on my end. or does this look normal?

I feel the same way, they'll definitely announce that slim model but doubtful they will drop the hammer that is Scorpio. Probably saving that for their own show.

 
Did people already get their $10 from the Fallout thing?

I only "purchased" the season pass but didn't get anything, was it just if you downloaded the full game?

I'm having more fun with Tron Run/r and its 45-second load times than anything else I've played in months. I used to tease people who played games on their phone. Shitty casual gamers. Now I accidentally became one of them.

I'm lying to myself by saying this is the hardcore gamer's version of said shitty casual running games, hence why it's not on any mobile devices. It's too hardcore. I think it's actually because your phone's battery would die while you're waiting for the next 1-minute-long level to load.

I'm still having a hayday with it. I should boycott it on the microtransaction principle alone, but I've gotten so good at the game that I've already accumulated more "bits" than I know what to do with. Either I'm really good or someone forgot to tweak how many bits you get at the end of the level, because microtransactions are totally useless.

From this we would extrapolate Sony announcing an upgraded PS4 with a 3TB drive at $249.99 and a VR implementation that includes a tactile full body suit for the most realistic dating sims, with monthly Hollywood starlet DLC releases.

 
I would totally buy a Microsoft equivalent to the Nvidia Shield TV if it included a 500 gb hard drive and access to the Windows Game Store with controller support.

Oh, wait. I think I just described the Xbox 360.

The Scorpio rumor didn't say it'd be at E3 anyway, just that it was aiming to release next year. If it is reactionary like was also rumored, I'd guess it won't be out until fall 2017, so next year will be the E3. We'll just see the Xbone Slim this year.

At this rate we're could have all 3 platforms release VR ready machines next year, maybe that will be the catalyst for devs to make worthwhile games instead of these mini-game tier things that have been the majority so far. Then again, I don't intend to spend $600 minimum ($400 console, $200 headset seem realistic) to get on that boat, and I think a lot of people will feel the same.

 
I retract everything I said about Tron Run/r. I finally started the light cycle levels, what I was most excited about. Pay-to-win trash, choppy framerate, hideous graphics (I must have missed the part in the movies where The Grid became filled with a BLINDING WHITE LIGHT), annoying music, and the controls act like you're driving on ice.

Bought it the day of release actually. I got bored with it the same day. Multiplayer games just don't do anything for me. If a friend is playing it and invites me, I'll join in, but usually after a match or two I'm done.

Xbox One Slim does not interest me one bit. Between Doom and Uncharted 4 my PS4 sounds like a jet engine. I really have a fear it is going to overheat. My Xbox One gets warm but I only ever hear the dang thing when the drive is in use. If smaller means louder than forget it.

 
Theoretically smaller should mean smaller fan, I think it just depends on the form factor of the console itself. The current Xbox was clearly design as a response to the RROD years of the 360. I think PS4 was designed more to be stylish than utilitarian.

I have no interest in a Slim either way. Once my original 360 RROD'd MS put a stronger fan into it and I never had issues again. I didn't fell a need to get a newer model so I never did. Once the Xbox One Two comes out I'll consider it depending what it brings to the table, but if the Slim just looks different and has a bigger internal harddrive I really don't care.

The irony when that video about luck played the third time I loaded up FO4 yesterday.

Same here, but when I just went back to play it 10 minutes ago (after watching some TV), it kicked me out with the message and won't start up now. It's officially dead for me. Season Pass looks to be dead too, since it shows the purchase price on Xbox.com.
