Mirrors edge 2 is a lot of fun. I will really enjoy playing it for 10 hours and then playing it some more when it hits the vault in two years or so.
 
Looking at the other system's flash sales(again), I had no clue they got HD versions of certain ps2 era games. Manhunt, Max Payne, Psychonauts, GTA III, .....why can't we get certain 10 yr old games with the upscale treatment?

You got my hopes up that I could play Psychonauts for the umpteenth on my ps4.
 
Was having fun playing the campaign and then I got booted because of Destiny servers being down. Not too impressed with Destiny so far.

Destiny servers have been pretty stable for the most part since launch. I think this was tied to XBL taking a shit last night. Normally if there are server issues it's right after an update.

As far as fun, I'd see if you have some friends that will play with you. It's alright solo but pretty much everything is co-op oriented. The story is the only thing you usually do alone. Most of the strikes and stuff have matchmaking. Raids can be the most fun, but I'd try and find other new players to experience it fresh at this point.

After the server error I started again. I had lost my progress because of the server error, but I was not too far into the game so that was okay. I liked the little I played of the game this morning. I just did not like getting booted from single player with no way to save my progress. I checked in the menus and I did not see a way to manually save which kind of sucks. I was hoping there was a way to save in case I get booted from the game again.

Overall I think I will love the game. I just hope the server errors are at a minimum.

I know you're new at the game and I'm not trying to sound like Destiny Defense Force here, but none of this sounds like anything that happens in Destiny. Server errors like you describe do happen, but they're quite rare, and if you get disconnected from the game you don't lose anything. The game is constantly saving your character status and inventory on Bungie's servers, so there's no need for a manual save. There is certainly no circumstance where being booted from the game would make it necessary for you to start the story over. I think there was a pretty big misunderstanding here on your part.

I know I had to start over at the beginning which was not too far from where I was in the game. Like I said no big deal. I just hope it does not happen often is all I am saying. I started the game and my first time playing I got a server disconnect error. Not cool. First impressions are very important. Hopefully it won't be a common occurrence. Like I said I like what I have seen from the game gameplay wise.

 
I already had Sunset Overdrive on disc. Do I need to uninstall the disc version to replace it with the GWG version, or does the Xbox One recognize the fact that it was already installed and replace the install with the digital version automatically?

Nope, it recognizes it so just play. I love that about the xb1. PS4 makes you delete the game then download it, so stupid.

Because of that I never delete games off my HDD after I sell them JIC I might get it digitally down the road.

That's awesome, awesome news. I'm really hoping the "big feature" they're teasing is the revival of RBN, or at least allowing imports for RBN tracks. They can add all the new features they want to RB4, but it's just no fun to play without my RBN tracks, which was half of my library on RB3.

Seems kind of scummy to me, since they just had the failed Kickstarter. Apparently that wasn't necessary at all or they shouldn't be able to afford to update an launched game for probably no profit other than DLC sales. It seems like that PC version that they were going to farm out was just going to be fans paying to develop another platform for them to sell DLC through.

No, Borderlands is the only game to have done that, so don't count on it being the norm. Also, it's specifically the Borderlands back compat version that had the DLC bundled in it. Borderlands GWG didn't include the DLC on the 360. It's merely the fact that Borderlands back compat titled included all DLC when it released as back compat.

It used to be that a few weeks after a game was GwG they would throw the DLC on sale. They don't seem to be doing it lately.

 
Rumor has it that Gears 4 will have an Ultimate Edition (digitally) that unlocks the game 4 days early (10/7) and includes the Season Pass. The season pass gets you 24 maps over one year. Plus VIP access to map playlists and lots of digital skins. Price TBA... I'm guessing $80.
 
I want that exclusive Gears 4 skin for getting to level 20 in the beta, but good lord, I'm only level 5 and I'm already sick of the same three gametypes and maps. Unless they add more, I don't think I can do it. Level 20 is a bit too high, I don't think I'm even that high on Gears 1 UE and I've had it since launch. Smart move on their part to get people to play it extensively though.

What's scummy about it? They could've put that money towards adding these features for everybody to further build on the game as they've been saying since before it launched or to hire a developer to port their engine, tools, and all of the DLC songs to PC. The Fig campaign was to see if there was an audience on PC for the game to see if it was worth getting all of that work done since they're not exactly full of money to spend on anything and everything. They're now a small developer that has to choose their projects carefully and they're putting a lot on building out the Rock Band platform at the moment despite the current peripheral market suggesting it may not have been a smart move.

The Ion Drum support is probably an adapter and a large part of the fall update is a paid expansion, so it's not all free.

Harmonix has had to change a lot over the years, probably more than most studios. Jumping from publisher to publisher, series to series, actually supporting Kinect, going independent, hopping on the Kickstarter train twice. Having done a lot of decent stuff in the past doesn't give them a free pass in my book. Asking for so much money to OUTSOURCE a port to a platform they've never bothered with in the past, especially through the shady Fig instead of the normal crowdfunding site probably burned some good will, just like Inafune has managed to do with all his Kickstarter nonsense.

Are you using your XP cards? I suck, but with the cards it only took 4 days or maybe slightly less to get to lvl 20 and I only played an hour or two at a time.
