Truuuuuuue that! Maybe if all games have creative, organic achievements like that instead of Kill X with X I wouldn't have gotten so sick of Gamerscore. Devs barely try anymore

I literally did Seriously 2.0 while I was at work and sleeping with a turbo controller and a bag of rubber bands. It is not an impressive achievement. I couldn't fathom the frustration involved with that Evil Within achievement though :0
 
I love gamerscore, and while the controller on xbox one is 10 times better than ps4, gamerscore is the second biggest reason I never turned my ps4 on

3 more BC titles is good but they need to fix the performance on Horizon, Castle of Illusion and any other games with terrible performance issues.

FH and Castle of Illusion are unplayable for me and deleting the 360 storage is only a temporary fix !

 
Two questions -

1. I think they announced this earlier in the year but to confirm, are all 360 titles from here out BC?

2. Can you find the 360 games they offer for Games with Gold on One's store or do you still have to go on Microsoft's Xbox site and "buy" them that way and then they'll download on your console?

See the perfect example of a HYBRID system of all this is the Borderlands games. My god, so many miscellaneous tasks to complete lol and that gave those games a lot of depth for me anyways. They were also my go-tos when I would listen to gaming/pop culture podcasts.

For me it really it all depends on a couple of things. If I am having fun with the game and chasing down some trophies or achievements can be fun. However if I finish a game and have less then half the achievements or I want to move on to something else I am not going to grind them out. Also if they aren't fun / "fair" I won't bother either.

I have only full completed 2 (soon to be 3) games on Live and 29 on PSN.

Having a ball with Letter Quest and the achievements (other then maybe 2) aren't too hard or tricky to get. A bit of grind but not too bad really. Will likely finish that in the next day or two. Also have some DLC related trophies on Borderlands 2. Will eventually get them (already 100% on PSN).

But grinding out 100K kills on a game I am not having fun playing for a stupid achievement isn't my idea of fun or getting value out of my gaming dollar. When it becomes a chore I rather move on and trade it in (if physical and has any value).

There was a time were I would play COD for 9 months and maybe play 4 or other games till the next COD. I like playing more games even if I don't play most of them for hundreds of hours.

Not like I am going to catch most of the people in this thread on Live or in the Sony threads on PSN.

I didn't put a ton of time into the PC version nor was it very recent, but it's a solid third-person shooter/space flight combat MMO that does a good job of capitalizing on the Star Trek license.

Yep. Creative integration enhances the experience, but I'm not going to mindlessly push a button for hours to rack up enough kills for a perfect gamer score.

Why not just grab this? It has the XBLA version of Pac-Man CE on it (so it has its own achievements), and it's backwards compatible. Also comes with Sega Tennis, and a bunch of other XBLA games. It's the same price as Pac-Man Museum as well ($5).

There's also this if you feel like spending a little more, which gets you all the BC Namco arcade releases outside of Galaga Legions DX and Pac-Man CE DX.

I did the clear local save trick to fix the shitty performance for Castle of Illusion, but now the game intermittently chugs. It'll be fine for a half-hour to an hour, then just completely drop in performance. It does pass after a while without having to clear local saves again, at least. The game's relatively short too, so you won't be suffering for long.

I assume they rushed the Castle of Illusion BC to accommodate the upcoming delisting and get some last-minute sales.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm partial to digital titles though, especially on 360, for convenience sake. Nice to know I can get an on-disc copy for $5 if I want some hard copy preservation, though.

The Namco collection looks a lot more appealing given all that it includes, but it's more than I'd like to pay. I still have that $10 Fallout 4 apology credit so if I bite on CE etc it won't come out of my own cash =)

 
The 360 had some good JRPGs because the console definitely had a market in Japan (mostly for shmups which were already running on custom Windows PCs). Compare that to the Xbone which is selling like hot garbage over there, and it's no surprise that we aren't getting that level of Japanese support anymore, unfortunately.

Not a problem. Fair enough. I agree that having most of my BC stuff on the Ready to Install list is convenient. Definitely an affordable option if you change your mind. Plus, you know, Sonic Tennis.

The price is a little steep at the moment for the Namco collection, but you can always grab it during a B2G1 free pre-owned sale at GameStop. I think Best Buy had it in stock online during this week's B1G1 free sale, but as you might expect, they sold out rather quickly.

For what it's worth, I'm 99% sure CE will get at least a 50% off sale by the end of the year. Not sure why it wasn't included this time around, but there's a number of titles that are staples of Namco publisher sales that weren't included this time either.

Regarding achievements and gamerscore, they've changed the way we play games forever. Other than Nintendo, every other major platform owner has followed suit. Personally, I think this feature of the Xbox 360 played an important role in the system's early popularity.

Thankfully, I care about 100% completing my games (achievements-wise) but I don't care about my gamerscore total. Therefore, if completing a game involves too much grinding, online multiplayer or some other kind of requirement that I feel would take away the fun, I either don't bother with the game or I play it under a dummy account.

I probably misread how to do the cloud save trick. I'll start from the beginning. I have castle of illusion on my X1. I can't play past the second level because the game starts chugging at an abysmal rate.

Now, it was my understanding that in order to fix this I had to go on my 360, delete the local save and keep only the cloud save. Then go on my X1, delete the cloud save and re-download it. Is this incorrect?

My problem is my 360 has turned to total shit. I can't turn it on to delete the local save. Am I screwed?

The local save on the :360: doesn't have any affect on the game on your :xb1:. Just delete local :360: data on the :xb1: and you should be good to go.*

 
Whoever was complaining about the Battlefield 1 Xbox Rewards promotion, I've played the beta, pre-ordered the game and everything and it still only shows 35 entries. I think it's broken.

Agreed, the Namco collection would be a good pickup if it was part of a larger deal, I'll keep an eye on it.

The stand-alone CE is on sale currently, actually, along with the DX follow-up. I'll probably buy them both since I have a lot less interest in the Museum Collection, even if it'd be cool to have those extra games. I do value achievements in score-attack games like this and I know I'll 1) play CE the most out of the Museum Collection if I got it, and 2) play the standalone more due to the longer lifespan of achievements.

Plus, I'd rather launch it from the dashboard instead of having to launch the Museum first.

 
Posted earlier but is that second Deathspank worthy of my $15? I feel the need to spend some money.

Speaking of which, don't recall seeing the list of weekly non-retail releases to see if any are interesting.

I don't know if this helps you on the XBOne, but:

When the monthly packs that are a part of the season pass were released, they also gave one of the cars from each pack as a free sampling. I had "purchased" and downloaded those free cars when they were released (360 marketplace, not in-game). I purchased the season pass this weekend also thru the 360 marketplace, not in-game. When I fired up the game all the season pass cars were available. Apparently the free monthly cars I downloaded contained the entire pack, just license locked. I did not have to download those monthly packs form the FH servers.

Mr. Bong's on the money. Just go to your storage and there should be an option to clear your local 360 stuff. This won't affect your cloud save, as it's well, on the cloud.

The release is still a ways off, so just give it some time to fix itself. Or does the contest end immediately when the beta does?

My bad, I must have skipped over it mentally because I already own it and it's not 75% off.

The disc releases should at the very least, allow for dashboard launching, fwiw.

If it included the DLC, maybe. But I'd just wait on the next big EA publisher sale (that isn't entirely Battlefield/Battlefront).

EA's the publisher of all 3 games, afaik, so they also might be heading to EA Access. EA is also the Shank series' publisher.

Probably not, but at half off I would recommend it. If money is no issue though you should grab it. I enjoyed both of the first two Deathspank games quite a bit. They are light hearted adventures that have a fair amount of humor which ranks high in my book.

My thing is the Deathspank games seem to almost never go on sale. That's the only reason I'm considering it.

Looks like this one has not been on sale since February 2013 according to XBLDB.

yeah. The preview update with clubs just went out. It's 4 GB and then you can search/create clubs. I don't know if the invites work if you don't have the update yet, but i'll start sending them out or anyone that has the update can search for CAG. (clubs are located in the community tab)

Patch notes also say that they fixed the stuttering issue with BC games.

 
Somewhat off topic, but does anyone know how I can auto download any XBox 360 digital games I own?

I'm not even sure which ones they are; would like to download them all...
