I picked up Mad Max, The Lego Movie Videogame, Lego The Hobbit and Lego marvel super heroes last night. Got all 3 Forza Passes today even though I only have FH2. Spent more then I planned if storeparser had been up I would have just got the Forza Passes and skipped the Lego games. Do any sites track DLC and Xbox 360 as fast and good as storeparser if not next week I will wait for major to post.

I don't like time limits in games. I own all the dead risings but off the record I think is my favorite just because of sandbox mode.

In case you're not familiar, otr's sandbox mode allows you to level uo, earn money, find costumes, weapon combos, etc... outside of the story's time constraints while still saving all character progress for story mode.

It's kinda grindy, but if you level up Frank to like level 5 or 10 and then restart the game it makes it so the time constraints shouldn't really matter.

It's also worth noting that 2 and OTR have online coop where 1 is single player only

So only having recently bothered to figure out how to get the One S to realize that my TV has HDR support I'm now realizing that with HDR enabled the Netflix app looks like washed out garbage for some reason. Seems to be a problem since launch and the only solution is disable HDR...

Question for the veterans here. 

I'm interested in purchasing a couple of digital games that according to Storeparser it looks like have never been on sale since release (namely the Tropico titles) and I'm wondering what everyone knows about changing the console region to purchase cheaper from the Australian site (where they are all $4-5 cheaper due to the conversion rate. Would this fall under the dubious "Oman Wars" category or since I'm still paying for it is it allowed? Also, if I purchase from the Australian site I need Aussie $, right? Where can I find Aussie $ credit? If I purchase directly on my CC does it matter? Do I need to use a CC with no foreign transaction fees in order to avoid them? 

I'm actually overseas not far from Australia (Guam) so not sure if that makes any difference at all...

After watching The Transformers 30th anniversary on VUDU I got inspired and played Transformers Devastation.  I was stuck on level 10 and couldn't beat Megatron for the life of me for the longest time.  I literally tried like 15 times and quit the game each time, so I probably died like 80 times in total lol.  But I guess I felt the Matrix power today and I finally beat Megatron!  Maybe I'll even beat the game before the new month roll out.

 
I'm curious how Play Anywhere will affect the price of the PC versions.  They typically have a more consistent decline, but perhaps not now with the X1 license in tow.

Well if they're only sold with an X1 license attached and only through the Win 10 store then they'll probably always be no lower than retail MSRP.

The Oman Wars had two major features that resulted in bannings. 1) The games that were free weren't even supposed to be available there. 2) You had to enter a fake billing address, which is fraud.

I haven't looked into it much, but I believe you need a billing address in that country to get their prices. If it's a substitute GwG or otherwise free, you can get it just by changing regions on the website, which does not require you to provide a fake address. *edit* Actually, can you even still do this since the merge w/ Windows Store? I'll test it this weekend since Viva Pinata is an alternate GwG for South Africa.

http://www.digitalgamesprices.com/xboxone.php has a comparision of the launch prices in different regions, but be aware that it does not track sales - it is just the launch price for that region. I got overwhelmed comparing prices and exchange rates on gift cards, and either I noticed you have to provide a false address or I just decided all that work wasn't worth saving $5 and being stuck with leftover doubloons on my account.

Its Win10 store games not steam games, w10 games really haven't any history to speak of - only like 2 or 3 "real" games released on there.

In general I'd pretty much expect the w10 play anywhere games to price mirror the xbox one price. Its only a handful of games for the next few years anyways - Forza, Crackdown, Scalebound, Gears of War, Recore, Sea of Thieves and Killer Instinct is about it

I agree with you for the most part but I can kind of see the appeal.

Sure it's a money grab. A company had a successful title, so why not quickly up-res it and sell it all over again? That's a really sucky, yet successful model (hell, Nintendo did it way back with Mario All-Stars, remember? Not to mention all of those GBA ports that weren't enhanced...)

On the other hand, it's a great way for gamers who missed titles to experience them all in one package. I finally tried out Metro Redux because I never got around to playing them last-gen. I ended up not liking it, but I'm glad I got to do it on my X1. It's also a way for uber-fans of a series to experience titles again while not having to take off their rose-tinted nostalgia glasses.

Same goes with the price. Half-assed up-res? No DLC? Full price for that? No thanks. On the other hand, it's multiple titles on a current system for the price. I guess it just depends on how much you liked it before whether it's worth it or not.

Luckily, I don't have time to replay games like that... I'm so far behind on my backlog... I just have to keep pushing forward. So it's not a struggle for me.

I agree, that's how it looks to me as well, in that any sales or price drops will be driven more by the xbox marketing team and Microsoft's sales goals for that platform. PC gamers have typically enjoyed more accelerated price drops though, so if the goal was to sell into that market in any significant way, you'd think they may have to drop the price more aggressively. Either that or the games will have to be so damn good that PC gamers say screw it, and buy in at full price even months/years down the road.

A shared achievement list isn't going to help sales at all in the (somewhat niche) market that cares about them, but I am watching to see how PC peripherals play with Forza in particular. I have a Fanatec setup that works well with my x360 and PC, but has no X1 compatibility. If it works on the PC version that's a huge selling point for me.

In general I'd pretty much expect the w10 play anywhere games to price mirror the xbox one price. Its only a handful of games for the next few years anyways - Forza, Crackdown, Scalebound, Gears of War, Recore, Sea of Thieves and Killer Instinct is about it

Agreed. I also have a couple more on my watch list but this may be outdated now: Cuphead, We Happy Few, Ark: Survival Evolved, Halo Wars 2, State of Decay 2.

Dead Rising is one of the greatest games ever IMO. Truly epic story that puts ANY movie or game to shame, fantastic characters, endlessly fun game play, it's so close to a perfect 10 for me. People like to gripe about the AI sucking, which it can, but as long as you are leveled up enough and give your survivors good weapons, it's nowhere near as bad as they say.

It's one of those all too rare games where towards the end you truly feel like a badass as you level up, not to mention a pro as you WILL memorise every nook and cranny of the mall. You'll know every short cut, and feel so efficient as you instantly know the best way to go for a mission and what to do. Hell, it probably is my favourite game ever.

I hate 2 despite it being an upgrade to the gameplay and AI, Chuck just SUCKS. He is so bland and boring, as is the story.

OTR is amazing, a perfect love child of the first two. Way better weapons as well. My only complaint is the story gets way too goofy at the end, but at that point you're already sold on the game so it doesn't matter. The town is also nowhere near as compelling as the mall, but again that's minor.

On the other hand, it's a great way for gamers who missed titles to experience them all in one package. I finally tried out Metro Redux because I never got around to playing them last-gen. I ended up not liking it, but I'm glad I got to do it on my X1. It's also a way for uber-fans of a series to experience titles again while not having to take off their rose-tinted nostalgia glasses.

Same goes with the price. Half-assed up-res? No DLC? Full price for that? No thanks. On the other hand, it's multiple titles on a current system for the price. I guess it just depends on how much you liked it before whether it's worth it or not.

Luckily, I don't have time to replay games like that... I'm so far behind on my backlog... I just have to keep pushing forward. So it's not a struggle for me.

I'm with you on the Metro Redux. That was a remaster done right because they answered a lot of fan criticisms about 2033 and it's a different game now pretty much (for the better). It's worth playing through even if you played through 2033 on the 360. Borderlands 2 was excellent as well. I own the PC version, and the XB1 version is VERY comparable. And if you don't own the DLC for the 360 version, you can buy the Handsome Collection for the same price as buying DLC just for Borderlands 2. AND your save file carries over.

Mario All-Stars was the same way. They took the NES games and revamped the graphics to look like SNES games. Those are worthwhile remasters. There was no much thing as backwards compatibility yet, so the only way to play the NES classics on your SNES was through All-Stars, but the complete visual overhaul and save system made it worth it anyway.

Most of the remasters this gen aren't even remasters. They're ports. Even if the Ezio collection drops to $5, it doesn't change the fact that there's a slim chance we'll see Brotherhood and Revelations BC now, which means we'll never get to experience multiplayer again unless we've held onto our 360s. That was an integral mode in those two games. The games looked fantastic for their time anyway, and still do, a little cleaning up around the edges doesn't justify the removal of major game modes. Same goes with Bioshock 2 (I actually liked the multiplayer). And the way things were looking, with Ubisoft being totally on board with BC and us already having AC1 and 2 BC, I feel like Brotherhood was next on the list. Just as Bioshock 1 was.

I agree with you, as far as if they offer a bundle/collection of games at an incredible value, even if it's literally the same game as the 360 version with no improvements, it may be worth a look for the money saved and the convenience of having it all in one package. But out of the waves of remasters we've received, I can count those on one hand. And if the end result is worse than what we had on 360, just give us BC, and let the PS4 fanboys deal with having to put up with shitty remasters.

I got Arkham Knight at redbox last week and it's pretty good so far, wish I would've waited for this digital deal. is the season pass worth getting though? 

 
Is there any bonus or carry-over from playing the Forza Horizon 3 demo into the full game? It looks fuck ing amazing but I can just hold out a few more weeks for the full game if there's no special reason to play the demo.

Also, where the heck is Minecraft Story Mode Episode 8 for Xbox One? It's out already for everything else. I guess those jerks at Telltale just decided not to release it for the Bone.

I'm wondering if xbox implemented the impulse triggers on Bioshock Collection.  It's impossible to find info on that anywhere.  Anyone caved and bought it yet?

 
If you're still taking Dead Rising feedback, I liked 2 the most. For story you should probably start with 1, and for pure gameplay Off The Record is the best choice. It is a bummer they left out Case Zero and Case West from this collection though.

2 and OTR had fairly buggy co-op modes on 360, hopefully they finally fixed those.

 
I love the triggers when used.  Not many use them, but even if graphics aren't as good as ps4 on a game I'll go with xbox just for the trigger feedback.

I've been patiently waiting since yesterday for Episode 8 also. DLC link within the game takes you to a borked page in the Xbox Store.

I told my kids they could play it last night as a reward for being on their best behavior, which they earned, and then of course I had to disappoint them, because as always with Telltale:

I am not a Minecraft fan, but my son is a super fan. I am, however, a big fan of Telltale games. When he first started playing Story Mode, I really had little interest. But it quickly grew to be one of my favorites in the Telltale catalog.

I laughed when they looped in the line from the previous verse over "go hang yourself" in Bust A Move, which is one of the wussiest, squeaky-clean popular rap songs ever. Then again, the line they loop in says "fatso." Surprised they aren't worried about people accusing their game of fat-shaming or something.

Bless this dude for not just throwing his hands up when Microsoft's bullshit got in the way of the app. He's added onedrive support for your legal collection of 2000 ROMs, as well as a toggle for browser / X1 pad controls.

It's not ideal obviously, but when I tested it 2 days ago, it was very smooth. Minor audio glitches that may be fixed with this newest release.

No bonus, in fact just like every forza demo there are no saves so you restart from the very beginning tutorial run every time you run the FH3 demo. It is 100% amazing, I preordered a few minutes after playing it.

Really excited about FH3. Love Forza 6, but defintely ready for a break from Drivertard bumper car first turns, brake checking Drivertards and Dukes of Hazard multiplayer.

It's cool if you prefer consoles, I'm primarily a PC gamer now but I still have my consoles.

But don't NOT play something because of a few bad apples in an online community. Not playing PC because of a few basement nerds that belittle folks for playing console speaks more volumes about how sad they must live a life because they have to feel superior in that way. Saying it in jest (like 90% of the folks that do) is one thing, those that take it a little too seriously is another.

But it's the same as not playing Xbox or PS4 because of the stigma of mountain dew'd up ADD dorito filled 14 year olds.

Sorry, don't have an answer but I didn't even know it was out until I saw it at Target yesterday. I want this but not at $60. It's totally worth that though for someone who has never played it, but I've played then already. So I'm in for a sale in the 50% odd range.
