Would he be given the authority to cut a large number of Congressional Republicans and replace them with people with firing synapses? And maybe a Supreme Court justice or two? Without getting rid of some of those stonewalls, even he'd be stymied.

But how could you fix social and economic issues by cheating? I guess he could record other successful countries and just copy them, but that seems like it wouldn't work on the scale necessary.

I think Microsoft is the first to attempt having their consoles play their immediate predecessor's games without including pieces or evolutions of the predecessor's hardware. The PS1 CPU was one of the PS2's processors. Early PS3 models had PS2 components; when new PS3 SKUs didn't include those components, no BC. The GBA / DS / 3DS and Gamecube / Wii / Wii U progressions went with more powerful iterations in the same hardware family (ARM and PowerPC respectively), so there wasn't too much trouble there. Going back further, the Atari 7800 had some Atari 2600 components and the GBA had a Game Boy Color processor, which was a more powerful iteration of the original Game Boy's.

A major issue with doing gaming BC in software is performance. I'm sure 360 on XB1 and PS3 on PS4 emulators can be written, but they'll run like crap, and gamers would bitch. The PS3 is enough of a step up from the PS1 that software emulation works there, but the XB1 and PS4 aren't. Sony went the route of running older games in the cloud, either using powerful enough servers to emulate the older systems or just using the hardware of the older systems, while MS most likely went the route of binary translation to convert the 360 PowerPC executable code into x86 executable code for the XB1 to remove a lot of the overhead of straight emulation on players' consoles. Original Xbox BC on the 360 was in software, though emulating x86 on PowerPC is more efficient than the other way around. As improvements to the BC system are made, they put out updates to make the older games run better.

Sticking with a similar hardware family should mean the MS and Sony console lines will be able to play older games on newer iterations. I think with the Xbox line, MS isn't letting developers have direct access to the hardware, but rather going through APIs, so if that remains the same, other potential stumbling blocks for BC in new systems, like a radically different GPU, shouldn't be an issue.

 
FYI, if you are buying Gears through eBay, check your email for a message titled "$5 off, just for you."

It gives a one-time $5 off a purchase of $20 or more, as long as you buy through the mobile app. Ended up buying a $34 code for $29.

I just watched some more Gears of War 4 videos and I just can't pull the trigger even at $34. I'll keep watching to see if the codes drop even lower. I've always been more into Halo and CoD style instead of the cover shooter so that probably has something to do with it.

Once again the Xbone line-up is solid-ish, and the 360 line-up is crap I already have, digitally too.

Feel bad for my bro though, he's only bought 2 Xbone games digitally and both have went GWG (Goat Simulator, and he bought Super Mega Baseball when it was on sale in August). At least it only cost him his $10 "whoopsie" Fallout credit.

Most excited for The Escapists, that game still hasn't seen a bundle on PC. Hoping October's Humble Monthly will include it now.

Shadow Lords mode that just came out for Killer Instinct has a lot of content. Watched a stream last night where a dev said the difficulty is getting nerfed. You collect/craft guardians and items that buff your fighters with specific powers. You have to prepare for and slow down the arrival of Gargos by defeating other enemies.

Shadow Lords is great. Lots to do, lots to unlock, and lots of achievements to get. Good to hear about the difficulty nerf, I've read a ton of complaints (the preview Shadow Lords build we got to test was on the easier side, but this is maybe a bit too far). I think having high-level guardians and equipment really helps (and probably why they buffed him so much), as I was able to steamroll Gargos well enough despite him having all his extra powers. I think part of the problem is just that the AI is so seemingly inconsistent in difficulty, even on Normal. They probably need to work on refining it as a whole.

I think Supremacy and Walker Assault somewhat stack the odds in favour of the Imperials, but really, it's just a matter of getting a Rebel team that's slightly better than the Imperial team. That, and to find 2 people competent enough to man the airspeeders at the end, as they can one-shot Walkers relatively easily.

Anyone with half a brain knows spygate and deflategate were both bullshit and the league was out to get the patriots. Both offenses are things other teams have admitted to doing or also been caught doing without punishment. Is this for the standard or deluxe? I'm wanting the deluxe edition. Buying the game and season pass separate balance out to the same price as the digital deluxe on the marketplace.

They still hope to add some single player elements.
They're still shooting for Fall (seems unlikely... but possible because)
There are only 3 maps.

And they do expect to have physical copies at retail.

Lol. I want this to be good but there's just no way. I just picturing them sitting around saying "Alright we just finished up the third map... I think we're done! Good job guys."

I loved Gears when it first came out and then the second but for some reason each new one after it felt like been there done that. I had a chance to get this new one at $34 but I passed it up too since what I've seen didn't really excite me. Didn't enjoy the beta too. Maybe it'll end up good and since people are getting two versions, maybe I'll grab it at $30 later later on.

 
I'm glad I jumped on that code last night. She did actually send me an invalid code first, but sent another after I messaged her. Maybe she'll post more eventually.

 
Trying to rush through all my calls at work so I can go home and play Horizon.

Also with Gears, and Horizon dropping and it seeming like everyone and their mother is getting both is there interest in starting up a game night again? It started strong last time, but faded after a few weeks, but some ofus still play together so it probably wouldn't be too tough to get it going again

I do say we and us. And I'll continue to. I've been watching the Patriots since as long as I can remember, including when we used to win like 3 games a year. And of course I have a bias, I'm a masshole through and through and very proud of it. And you can call them cheaters, I probably would too if they crushed my team every year too

And did you see those color rush uniforms last night??? They're even winning the uniform game!

Looks like you know why people refer to their local/favorite team using shared pronouns, way to call him out on it tho! Totally doesn't make you seem like the a Trump supporter/deplorable person at all.

Has anyone played the DSIII DLC and can comment on the value? The DLCs for souls games are some of the best fights and occasionally have a couple useful items/spells. The trailer looks great, but I don't know how useful those new spells are and it looks like it could be really short.

I really want FH4, but not the $99 version. I need to run by BB and preorder the $48 version this weekend, though.

Just started playing my digital version of Aloen:Isolation. I keep waiting for shit to jump at me. Pretty cool so far. I use a guide. I just want to see the story. I don't want to explore meaninglessly.

The Steelers are the only team in the AFC that are close to as complete as the Patriots. Denver has far and away the best Defense, but their offense is weak. I see the Steelers as the Patriots only roadblock to the Superbowl

And fortunately I'm alive for my teams greatness, the Steelers, while good in this decade haven't been a dynasty since the 70s, but you can't knock what they've done.

Is there a way to get a Warthog code for FH3 if I've never played Halo?  I've never been a Halo fan, but the Warthog is cool looking and I'd love to drive one in Horizon.

They said there will be an event in game during the month of October where you can earn the vehicle if you didn't get a code. I have it, it is a pretty fun ride but I would just wait for it to be free rather than trying to buy a code from someone or anything.

 
I certainly don't regret getting the Gears 4 code yesterday for $35, but I had no idea it was an 80 GB download. Screw that. I'll Redbox that shit to get what I can off disc. That's absurd. I really need a hard drive right about now as well.
