Guess I can't quote on my phone, but maybe we had different refund experiences because of the options chosen. I think I picked "Item not working" instead of not authentic, but would have to look up my claim.

Upon turning on my xbox today it prompted me to set up the console for the first time before giving me an error, factory reset seems to have fixed the problem, anyone else experience this?

 
Completed Gears 4's campaign, solo, Hardcore.  War journal says 13 hours, 8 minutes, probably includes retries.  Some sticky situations that required a number of attempts, though a fair number of deaths from a random explosive or dumb partner AI not attempting to pick me up.  Also spent time hunting for collectibles.  Missed only 1 each in acts 2-5, but missed 8 in the first act.  Insane solo should be ... fun.

The Insane campaign achievement can be unlocked in co-op, and according to TrueAchievements, the old 1 person Insane, 1 person Casual method works. But I've solo'ed the prior games on Insane, not going to stop now. Insane is unlocked from the get-go in this one, and I considered going that route, but wanted to get through the story this weekend.

 
OK, guys - I've got $14 on my Xbox Live account and I'm thinking about buying Outland ($3.99), Rayman Legends ($9.99)and Valiant Hearts ($5.99). Which of these games has the best value? And do any of these go on sale regularly?

If you buy nothing else, Rayman Legends is a must buy in my opinion. One of my favorite platformers on the 360/X1. It redoes some of the levels from Origins with it's own original levels, including the much loved music levels. Enjoyed the game so much that I got the 1,000 on both versions of the game. That said, if you are into achievements, there is one achievement to watch out for. While the game as a whole is easy to 100%, to reach the maximum level of awesome, it will take roughly 3 months if you get gold on every daily challenge. Diamond does cut the time considerably as you'll get 50 points as opposed to 10, but it's limited to the top 1% as opposed to the top 10%. While I don't recall my stats, for comparison sake, on the 360 I got 90-95% gold (the others being silver) and it took me 3 months. On the X1, I got a couple diamonds (maybe one a week?) and the game start to finish took me only a month and a half.

The hardest of the bunch is Outland. The platforming itself isn't terribly difficult, but the enemies can wreck you if you're not careful. Bullets are flying across the screen, and only way to progress in some cases is to color shift. Mechanic plays very similar to Ikaruga (bullet hell shmup). I'd recommend it purely on the fact it's a bit different than a lot of other platformers, but if you prefer easier platformers may not be your cup of tea.

Valiant Hearts is the only one that I don't have much experience with. Bean dived it when the game went free with gold on the X1, and in my limited time seemed on the easier side and more story driven than Rayman or Outland.

Like others have said, try using a different browser.

I recently tried to redeem a 12 month live code and was having issues. Turns out that you can't stack a year on top if your auto renewal is turned off. It took 1 chat and 2 phone calls to figure this out. Kind of ridiculous in my opinion.

Already picked up Bard's Gold and Nightmares Tale From The Deep. Only title I'm undecided on at this point is 10 Second Ninja. Seems decent looking at the videos but anyone have first hand impressions on it?

I attempted it. I got to the very end of Act I before I gave up and switched to Normal. Enjoying the game much more now. I'll do my Insane playthrough in co-op instead. I beat Gears 1 UE in Insane solo, but this game is a bit harder.

I was more or less leaning toward Rayman Legends and Outland anyway, but I think you've helped me to decide on those two. The physical disc prices online for Legends are more than $10, and Outland reviewed well on most sites I checked. I also think that Valiant Hearts will be on sale again in the next year.
 
Is there only one Walmart exclusive Gears skin for the Rockstar codes? Also I put on on the Walmart site and it gave me two, the acid omen from Walmart and a regular artist one. It only took 5 codes for me.

I adored Rayman Legends on the Vita, easy to recommend. I played Outland briefly on PS3 but just bought it after seeing this discussion. I've been home sick for the past 3 days and need a new distraction.

I recall Valiant Hearts getting some rave reviews, mainly for it's storytelling. I want to play it but I can wait for it to be cheaper.

 
I really hope these greyed out promo weapon skins in Gears 4 disappear once the promos are over if we haven't obtained them. My OCD is kicking in. I did get the Totino's character, and I'm trying to tell myself the weapon skins don't matter. I don't even know what weapon skins I'm using currently, I never pay attention to them when I'm playing, and I don't pay attention to other peoples' weapon skins. Yet, I want them all, because my Mario 64 OCD is telling me "I HAVE TO COLLECT EVERYTHING."

Awesome game, BTW. Best campaign in the series thus far, and versus co-op allows me to kill and unlock stuff without throwing my controller, since I can actually keep up with bots better than human lvl 50 prestige whatever. Bots before bros.

The perfect path. Enjoy the game and it's story on a decent difficulty that isn't a pushover nor so tough it becomes a grind. Come back later for the ultimate challenge that doesn't ruin the story when you hit frustrating road blocks. Nothing breaks up a story like having to go pick up a new controller because you just smashed yours against a wall. I play all my shooters this way.

That's where I'm at. I'm not paying for the extra weapon skins for sure. I have buddies that drink two energy drinks a day, so I just asked them to send me the codes.

I like to have all the characters, though. I did buy a Reyna for $2 on ebay yesterday.

I usually go for that route on everything except for the CoD series. Once you've beaten one of those games on Veteran, you can beat them all on Veteran pretty easily (minus WaW due to grenade hell).

Fortunately, Gears 4 seems like it would have much more replay value than the earlier titles in the series. I haven't had any moments where I've had to sit through long dialogue while my character is walking slow with his fingers stuck in his ear. That aspect always made repeated playthroughs a chore, especially with the first game.

I asked my nephew to send me the codes too but so far he said he hasn't seen any. I wouldn't mind having them but I am not paying for them. Perhaps if I saw the cans that have it I would buy them and give them to my nephew to drink.

Are the codes on the outside of the can? If so probably not even worth buying it. I remember a few years ago one of the COD games had codes on Doritos bags. Bought a few and most of them were already used.

I'm at home sick today too, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what I want to play first. It's crazy when your backlog is so big that you can't pick a game to start.

I usually would have played it on Normal but know I will be replaying it co-op probably later this week with my friend anyway. Normal or maybe Hardcore.

I don't know how many times I've scrolled through all the games on my dashboard trying to find something that strikes my interest, having too many choices almost takes some of the fun out of it. Almost.

Also, being somewhat physically immobile right now (my neck was inured), I've never been so happy to have digital games installed. My 360 is tucked away under my desk and it's a mild pain in the ass to put discs in/out.

Didn't Reyna come with the Ultimate Edition? And you have to have UE to even be playing the game right now, right? All I know is I have that character and I don't know how, I just assumed she came with UE. Unless you're talking about an alternate Reyna skin, but I don't see any other greyed out characters in my menu that aren't unlocked through chests.

I don't think it needs to be said. But don't buy Payday 2, they've treated the console owners TERRIBLE. I have it on PC but theres no excuse to keep promising to fix it and not, then release a new version.
 
Am I the only one who amasses large amounts of Xbox credit through several Bing rewards accounts in order to also amass a large collection of last-gen games whenever they come on sale oblivious to the fact that I will never have the time to fully enjoy these titles but instead in hopes of passing them on to my future offspring in order to enjoy them vicariously through them?

I had 5 Bing accounts, they all got banned so now I just have 1.

Had a preordered Mafia III deluxe edition in my hand at BB today... decided to put it back. With Gears 4 and Battlefield, plus the Arkham Collection later on, I just couldn't justify spending the money on an iffy game like that. I'll probably pick it up when it's real cheap since MS always has those 2K publisher sales going on.

Anyone who actually bought it here enjoying it? I heard you have basically seen everything the game has to offer after 10 hours.

Nope. Except that I only have one Bing account and I probably won't have any offspring if I don't play games as much and starting interacting with women more.
