Titanfall 2 free for all might be some of the most fun I've had in a shooter in a while, like dang it's so awesome haha

However, the modes I want to play (FFA and 8v8 Variety) are always dead already in my area since it searches by region and people aren't playing them at like 3-5AM for me, so I have to switch to like the London server to get FFA games going, hopefully they start putting the servers/regions together because that kind of blows though.

I've noticed Prime is getting worse too. I hate "add on items" that you have to order $25 of Amazon stuff before they'll ship them to you. Also, if you don't order by Wednesday then you won't get your stuff until the following week which completely blows the 2-day shipping deal because they charge extra for Saturday delivery now, which is ridiculous.

I did get get WWE 2K17 delivered day one though... and the discount for pre-ordering is nice... so I can't complain about that part of prime so far.

 
Titanfall 2 single player is god damn good. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty and still really enjoying my time with it. I never thought the campaign would be any good when they announced it but I was wrong. Very wrong.

The downside is the campaign is supposedly only 5ish hours. But playing on the hardest difficulty is obviously going to take longer then that.

I haven't even played the MP yet. Going to play more of the campaign before work, then the MP after work.

Only going to get worse based upon the quarterly earnings. Apparently shipping has become a huge expense and caused them not to meet Wall Street expectations.

When my copy of Fallout 4 was delayed they only offered to cancel my Prime lol.

I've been a prime member since it started and my personal interest has always been the quick and fast shipping which (astoundingly) still rarely exists on any other site even in 2016

but the shipping is nothing like what it used to be. Earlier cut off times, more and more late deliveries, less accountability for late deliveries

it's just no longer worth the price imo so I probably won't be a member after mine runs out for the first time since it started.

They should have 2 primes and one should have all the extra shit many of us don't care about and one should be solely based on fast shipping (charge more if they want idc) and we should go back to what it used to be for shipping times and speeds because in the early days it was incredible and well worth every penny

Damn. I'm still able to order stuff on Friday and get it delivered on Sunday regularly as the regular 2day.

depending on location some people could pretty much get prime speed deliveries without even having prime

in the old days I could order something this morning and if I was early enough it would get here tomorrow without any special shipping just because of my location was within distance of a warehouse and they used to almost exclusively use UPS and they don't fuck around.

Now everything is slower and there are more carriers that are slower but I can see how prime must be a total drain on Amazon because of how spendy shipping is.

 
To add on to the "Amazon is Failing" discussion, I had to battle reps over email, live chat, and over the phone to get 2 of my pre-order tracks for Rock Band Rivals. Nobody had any clue what promotion I was talking about. Word of advice: Screencap the product page with the promo info when you pre-order in case that happens. That was seriously a struggle. By the time I got my 2 free songs, the songs were put up on the marketplace for $2 a piece. In hindsight, I would have rather just paid the $4 than waste my time. But the principle bothers me. Amazon "forgot" about a promotion so you just can't get it.

This is pretty much how I feel about the MP, haven't even done Campaign and the multi is so freaking good, but it's great to hear the campaign is awesome as well, not the reason I got it but I'll get around to it someday haha

 
All this talk about Titanfall 2 has me wanting it. I know I won't play it though. Trying to get through my backlog, while tackling Destiny (decided to finally get into the game for the first time when Rise of Iron launched) as well as Gears 4, and the CoD's come out next week.

This season is so awesome for games that it actually sucks. Can't decide what I want to buy, and then can't decide what I actually want to devote time into.

And on top of that, this was actually a really good XBL sale. Playing through Dead Rising 3 for the first time and enjoying it immensely, and also got L4D2 and the RE Origins bundle. Also thinking about the Alien Collection since I have the game but not the season pass content.

I also have people trying to talk me into getting Battlefield 1 but I've never been able to get into that series. I know it'll be a "play when my friends are on and want to play it" deal and $60 is too much for another one of those games.

Skyrim can totally suck a chode though. I've never played more than an hour of that game. I'm sure it's wonderful, but I've waited this long to dive into the game, I can wait till that game hits the valid remaster price ($20 or less).

Tried getting the achievement called "The Student" at the beginning of TF2 last night. Gave up on it after several tries. Any tips on how to do it? It is the one where you have to beat Lastimosa's ghost on the Gauntlet. (The very first thing you do in the game.)

Do you have to shoot all the hologram dudes? Or just run your balls off?

You have to kill all the guys, there's a grenade launcher hidden above the target range that helps a bit, but it's pretty much just practice until you get it down. I'm grinding away at it myself, was like a second off before and it sucked

EDIT:

Oops, I'm grinding the harder one of the two (becomes the master) but either way, each guy alive adds time at the end so make sure you kill them :p

I got this (but not the harder one, stopped before throwing the controller). Why is the pilot name different to me? It says Anderson

Btw pick up the arc grenades and use them on the first group of three, on the lone enemy right after those ones (throw it under the gap while running) and on the other group of three. There's also an hidden grenade launcher up in the shooting range (the small room with the 5 or 6 targets), you have to wall run around the guns

 
I can't get that one for getting in under 25 seconds. I didn't know about the launcher, I'll have to try that after I finish the campaign.

My copy of Titanfall 2 didn't arrive on time, so I called to politely complain that someone high up needs to be fixing the common problem of people's stuff not arriving on day one, and they are now sending me a free $10 GC. I mentioned that I don't have this same consistent issue with other online retailers like Amazon.

It's the second one I've gotten this year. I got one before when my copies of Captain America: Civil War, Transformers, and NBA 2K17 were all late within the same week.

Getting stuff late is annoying, but the free $20 I've gotten so far eases the sting a bit. Anyone else getting their stuff late, definitely call and you might get something out of it. I've never asked for anything, they've just offered it.

This happened to me with the Microsoft Store twice. I got an email confirmation that my day release pre-order would arrive in 3 days after release day. When I called and said what's going on, they said it'd be there. Come release day, nothing. Called in again and had a talk for like 30 minutes on what the hell is going on, no I don't see the you didn't pre-order the game early enough to get complimentary release day shipping and that's because the website's page had changed due to the game coming out. What kind of B.S. is that! Yeah, and they never understood the you get more credit for being a Bing Rewards member either.

Amazon's saved me a ton of money too, ever since the bump to $50 free shipping as no I don't have Prime, caps on internet makes it not worth it for the streaming services that I'd never be able to use.

To those saying, oh man which game should I get. BOTH, wait till BF, all the gamez go on salez man.

If you've been on the fence about the Xbox One S and need just a little push to make the plunge, Microsoft is providing some incentive. I have enough credits to almost entirely cover a new game, and you Cags are making me consider TF2 now.

And in the ingame "leaderboard" Anderson is the one you have to beat for this achievement, Lastimosa is the one that makes you run in the Gauntlet.

My best run is 34:80 (better than Lastimosa, hah!) but it seems you have to do even better to get the other Gauntlet-related achievement.

EDIT: got it ffs. 33:00 was enough to get the achievement.

TrueAchievements is showing Barbie and Monster High as 10 hour completions. Very easy looking at the list. I've been keeping an eye on the disc copy of Monster High at my Target but it refuses to go on clearance even when the Wii U version did.
