It's for a very specific sort of gamer and the XB1 version is supposed to be pretty rough in comparison to a pretty rough PC version. A lot of the fans have been pretty vocally unhappy that they are charging for DLC when the game's not considered done yet.

Of course you may like sitting on the beach naked and clumsily eating poop.

Oblivion has the massive open world, but it streamlined a lot of the RPG elements (IMO) unfortunately. Morrowind has the much more significant RPG portions of allocating skills, etc. I was so into Morrowind that I didn't care for Oblivion, but I know I'm in the minority. It's a big open world RPG with more quests and explorations than you can fill, as well as the awful voice acting you'd expect.

If you're looking for an X1 RPG, Skyrim remastered will be on sale on Black Friday, so you can try to wait for that if you'd like.

For me, Daggerfall was one of the first true open world games I ever played, and I sunk probably several hundred hours doing absolutely *nothing* with the main storyline (messing around and getting arrested and kicked out of town, and then climbing the walls back in, doing pest control jobs, etc). I'm the guy that played Dark Age of Camelot, and beta tested the original WoW, and spent most of my time doing dumb things like traveling to places I wasn't supposed to be able to go, and trying to find places to take glamour screenshots of scenery. I.... don't play RPG's for the same reasons most do I guess. If I get Oblivion or a similar RPG, it would be for kinda' the same reasons, I'd want to wander around aimlessly finding new ways to get into trouble or fiddle with things. One of the reasons I enjoyed Fable III even though everyone else apparently hated it was because I found so many other things to do.

Ya I saw someone's post which made it seem like Skyrim would be 50% off. I went and looked at MajorNelson's post and was disappointed. I'd definitely pick it up at 50% off digital over physical at that price.

 
Just got my Ultimate Edition of SW: Battlefront delivered. Confirming it is just a Season Pass code inside, none of the first 3 packs are on the disc. So, don't buy it used. Now you know.

I always try to keep that in mind with these titles, and RDR in particular I've always felt was primed to be a GWG title, but then they hyped it being BC and I don't know if that increases or decreases its chances at this point (as I would have expected it to be GWG when it became BC). And I know WatchDogs 1 got a lot of pub at launch, then fizzled and disappeared because of problems. I don't know with WatchDogs 2 out if releasing 1 as GWG makes any sense or not. I always wanted to give it a whirl, and $5 seems cheap.

Also, I'm not really an RPGer, but has Oblivion held up ok or no? I have not played an Elder Scrolls title since Daggerfall (even with all the "OMG SKYRIM!" going on). I might consider it for $5, to fool around with like I used to Daggerfall.

Watch_Dogs won't go GWG on 360. It was on XB1, and I think it would go GWG there if at all.

Hey man, sounds just fine to me. Oblivion will definitely scratch the itch then. Skyrim isn't my favorite for the "wander and explore" kind of games, as the scenery for Skyrim is just very...bland. Snowy mountains to flat brown plains to a tiny patch of forest in the south. Oblivion would work better.

I'd get Oblivion if there were any signs of it coming to BC. I'm trying to lessen the reasons to hold onto my 360, not add more reasons. That was one of the very first 360 games I ever played and I wouldn't mind revisiting it.

Great game. I haven't played much of Skyrim but Oblivion was a beautiful game at the time of release, and Shivering Isles is still one of the best DLC packages I've ever played.

Q3A is also tempting at that price. I'm sure it's dead online but I'd pay that much for nostalgia and playing with bots. I'd say BC would never happen, but with the randomness of the XBLA BC releases lately, you never know.

I'm playing through Batman Ep1, very sold. I wish there was an option that conversations don't auto resolve if you get distracted. I get it, but the mechanic isn't working.

Ya, when people know what they're doing is wrong they can get pretty defensive. If you pay by CC or paypal you'd need a legit foreign billing address, or you're committing international fraud for $20. I think you can buy spacebucks for different regions w/o falsifying any info, but I'd rather just get xbl credit 20% off and not risk losing my account with thousands of dollars worth of content.

Exactly. I've actually purchased currency for different places (Mainly South Africa) and purchased items through there. Their DLC always seems to be much cheaper than here in the states. I had a bunch of chats with customer service first to make sure it was fine, and I was reassured there was no issue with doing that.

Please do enlighten us as to what "international fraud" is, exactly.

Spoiler: That's not a thing. You would almost certainly be violating the Terms of Service. That is not, however, illegal. And if you're using a credit card or PayPal account, you would need an actual one of those in the region you're trying to buy from, as Microsoft does verify that when adding a payment method, so it's not possible to "commit international fraud" going that route. (Using the credit card or PayPal account of someone in a foreign country who has given you authorization to use it would still not be fraud, though it's probably against the TOS).

I've played many hours of Trackmania Nations on the PC a while ago. Some of the tracks you would play later on in the online community, half the fun was discovering how to race/where to go lol. I also picked up Trackmania: Sunrise years ago too. I'll be picking this one up as well.

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion was a Christmas gift back in '06. I got the Collector's Edition from a Canadian Ebayer for way more than $5. My god if you're paying that price now for the same game - with post patches and a steller DLC expansion - fuck me you get a HUGE huge deal. Oblivion will keep you at it with all the things that are available to you in the open world, I'd suggest picking it up as it's stated is a bit more refreshing vistas-wise than Skyrim. The only drawback with Oblivion is the scaling enemies & combat, which they fixed with Skyrim. There's also the dated graphics now but at the time, man can you believe the draw distance in this game!

By this point it's a wonder people aren't playing Titanfall 2! Get on it people, excellent game, very good price! I can't say much about the multiplayer but the campaign is steller (there was a part, the "shortcut" part, that reminded me of Portal 2!

Great game. I haven't played much of Skyrim but Oblivion was a beautiful game at the time of release, and Shivering Isles is still one of the best DLC packages I've ever played.

This, my god if you didn't get enough content in the base game, Oblivion's Shivering Isles is a lot of fresh new content to ahh, consume. Plus, you get a wacky King to have to appease to.

International fraud is defined in Black's Law Dictionary as, "Being tricky with Canadians, and stuff." It's a little known fact that its origins are buried deep, deep within P.L. 107-56. So deep, in fact, that's it can't even be found when reading P.L. 107-56 in the United States Statutes at Large. It was then scattered throughout the U.S. Code, and is now located right next to the section on Mopery with Intent to Creep (3rd degree). Don't even get me started on how Westlaw classified it in the digest system!

 
I bailed on JC3 shortly after beating the main story.  Was a lag fest and had horrible load times (on PS4 at least).  I LOVED JC2.  Enough that I bought it for 360 so some day I might replay it.

Mad Max has a couple (or did) bugs where it could keep you from getting 100%.   I was able to get 100% on PS4 but it is grind.  And one part I thought (and still think) was glitched but I was able to still get all the collectibles.

I don't think they ever really fixed the load and lag (bad frame rate) issues.

I was really interested in JC3 and sort of meh on MM.  I ended up enjoying MM much more.  Maybe if/when JC3 hits like $10 digitally I might give it another try.  Those load times were horrible and took me out of the game.  Also some of the wing suit challenges looked like a real bitch to complete.  Didn't mess with them much.

I was kinda suprised at how small the cag club was as of right now, plus I dont know who anybody is so Im guessing a lot of members who dont post in here are on there.
 
Also for anyone with Live expiring soon or needs a 12 month code, CDKeys has them up for 45 bucks or so. They've been cheaper before so if you can hold out I would, but if you need one right away I'd get in on that.

That is VERY tempting. Does the majority of the population have the DLC now? I know that'll change once it hits EA Access and there will be a ton more vanilla players, but I've heard the game is pretty useless without the season pass. I bet even once it hits EA Access, I'll be paying that much just for the season pass, so I might as well get the game to own with it.

I'd say overall they're the same. I enjoyed mad max way more than just cause (still haven't finished it) but that doesn't mean I didn't have a good time with it. They're both open world games that have a ton of filler to add to the game.

I'd say it's more down to what you like more: Mad Max and post apocalyptic car action OR over the top action with explosions and more shooting.

If you have the opportunity, get both.

There are also those of us whose gamertags are nothing like our CAG handles. That likely adds to the confusion.

IMO, it's really that good. Campaign is absolutely fantastic and bring so much originality to the genre that you will see as you play (was ripped for a small spoiler earlier so just trust me. It's awesome). And multiplayer has been refined from what I already enjoyed in the first game.
