Seems I forgot Halo Wars was already backwards compatible. Original post edited. Saranag should be happy to know it can be played then on X1

Since the X1 doesn't have the option to delete games that have 0/1000 achievements, I download the crummy freebies like zheroes, deer god, etc and try them on an alternate gamer tag. I don't want any more of those shit titles on my gamertag. I can live with 1000/1000 games such as Avatar/Hannah Montana on my tag, but seeing 0/1000 for crap like Van Helsing irks me. I wish MS would give us the option to delete those 0 games. It was available on 360 soooo......

They gave away S.1 in January this year, so it seems appropriate to do the same for S.2 next year. So also, in case we are still here in 2018, you can probably expect S.3 then.

And as soon as those people get Black Ops 2, they'll demand Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3, etc.

For what its worth, Activision is trying to sell you on Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered now. They want you playing those games this holiday, not older games you already own. They'll get around to authorizing Microsoft to release more CoD BC games once the end of the year selling season has passed.

C'mon, people. If you're going to be angry, do it when the corporate decision making rationale isn't so obvious.

I feel ya. I had 2 graduate level biology classes. In Animal Behavior, we had two exams per week for 17 straight weeks. In Advanced Evolution, we had about 11-12 pages of typing per week regarding different philosophical and theological aspects of evolution. Good luck on your grades!

Really happy to get Rayman Origins. I Platinum'd it on Vita and really wanted to get it again since it's BC, I almost bought it last week at the B2G1 for Gamestop. Glad I waited, rest of the lineup is meh for January.

Thanks, I worked my Shaq-fuing ass off this semester. Pretty sure I aced my courses, but I did spend 40 hours writing one of my final papers, so I'd be pretty unhappy to invest that kind of time in something and get a B. It's been full-on gaming bender ever since.

The single-player campaign is really fun and should keep you interested enough to finish. It's the only GTA game I've played start to finish. After you beat it, the world stays open for you to roam around and explore. This makes it fun to return to when you just feel like blowing stuff up after a long day at work :)

Do you have GCU? That makes GTA $24, which is the lowest price I've ever seen. This is a game that just does not drop.

Yeah that's why they always had that funky port to deliver more power. Though it's odd that they require that big of a set up compared to the 360 Kinect who basically just had a pass through to a wall plug for PCs and older systems. I do suspect they just did the minimum engineering job they needed to cover customers and it wasn't a big investment in refining it or making it more efficient, just cheap to produce.

I already have Shadow Jago and Fulgore so I'm happy. I would be ecstatic if they would re-introduce the classic games' combo finishers (ESPECIALLY for Fulgore and Jago). But having more fighters at my fingertips is awesome, maybe I could fall in love with a S.2 character.

All I want is for them to pull a Bioshock and make it BC once the remaster has had time on the market. I don't even really care about CoD but on principle I think all games should be BC if they are capable, and not held back for marketing reasons *looks longingly at Batman AA/AC*

This is one industry where "doing the right thing" tends to give way to "doing the profitable" thing. I'm sure that's not a life-altering realizatino for anyone though. :)

 
I snagged KI season 2 a little while ago when on sale. Had to be $5-$10 so I don't feel burned with it going GWG. As pointed out, it's a safe bet to assume season 3 will go free sometime next year. Now, to resist KI S3 when it drops to $5 sometime this year....
 
This MX vs ATV game is a lot more fun then I thought it would be based on what I heard/saw, enjoying just messing around in free roam honestly.

Nah, of course not. Ubisoft of all publishers, though, made the 360 version of Rayman Legends BC, and there wasn't even a demand for it really, so this newfound consumer friendliness has me feeling slightly optimistic.

 
Beyond excited about the cave, have it on everything else.

Ended up going with the blue Xbox one S. Now I just gotta figure out how to get the free Kinect adapter.

Edit: also got a NES classic edition because they happened to get delivered while I was at the store. Don't really need it but...

Day 1 - Chatted with Xbox support about getting the adapter (HINT - make sure to register both consoles and the Kinect here first)

Day 2 - Received shipping notification

Day 6 - Received the damn thing (on a Sunday)

Pleased.

Probably not so annoying to those that would want it and don't already have it. And MS has set up a pattern now, so we'll probably see S.3 12 months after this.

Pretty sure we are getting the Ultra Edition, which should not only be DLC, but also would give us the full KI2 Classic game. I could be wrong on that, but if that's true then you're getting more than just DLC, you're also getting another game as well. Whether or not you consider that "worth it", is subjective.

I am not pleased with how freaking big it all is.... super bummer to have that much extra crap to run the Kinect.. you know that thing MS said they would keep supporting and not release a console without? Bah humbug.

It is the ULTRRAAAAAAAAaaaaaAAAAAAA Edition, so yes you get KI2 Classic. Hopefully it cheats less than KI1 Classic...

For the Kinect 2.0 which they did a 180 on, if that's the worst thing they didn't keep a promise on during the days leading up to the X1 release(even though its still able to connect to the Slim 3 years later), I'm GLAD they 180ed on all the other bullshit. Always online/can't play offline for more than 30 minutes, no used games(gotta pay a fee after the 1st user redeems it), Kinect is always listening / looking at your movements(hello Big Brother), etc....if a bulky Kinect adapter is the worst, then that be 1st world problems. I can see the complaint against them saying the system wont be sold separate from the Kinect 2.0, but that pales in comparison to what was being shoved down our throats

Thank goodness those xbox heads were let go. Didn't the lead Xbox One guy become Zynga's CEO and then promptly run them into the ground? Yeah, we're all better off

I'm trying to earn points for actively browsing with edge (the 150 points a month thing)

what exactly do I need to do? I've earned 2 over the last 2 days

I leave it open I have it default I occasionally use it

I've noticed that the counter for that is wonky as hell and just randomly updates. When I started doing this, I would find a really long video through bing video searching and let it play. When I started this, I let it run for 3 days, got pissed off because it wasn't updating my counter so stopped, and then like 1-2 days later it finally updated. My internet doesn't have a data cap though.

Well I have two of the four GWG games, The Cave and Rayman Origins.

But I have them on Playstation and not the Xbox so I'll take this as a win.

Just like you said you have to actively use edge. It's not good enough just to have it open but you need the mouse moving on it or play a video full screen to count. It does take a day or 2 to update the counter. Here use this video to earn them pts. https://youtu.be/8ZcmTl_1ER8

So, I feel my age catching up with me.

I played Destiny back when it first came out. Never did anything past the vanilla experience. Last time I played was way back in early December 2014.

Fast forward to now. I snagged the Destiny Collection last Thursday when it was on Amazon for the $24.99 deal of the day.

I get the game all updated, and boy am I lost. The grind is still somewhat there, and I've kind of remembered/relearned the controls, (took me twenty minutes to figure out how to summon the damned sparrow). But, for missions and what the hell to do in regards to the items, I am completely lost.

Uh huh. I don't know what's worse; trying to figure it all out myself, or having friends who are seasoned at the game try to explain it to me. I still don't fully understand it. I just click missions on the map, kill things, and when it tells me I have a new item, I see if the big number on it is any higher than the items I have equipped. That's how I play it and I have fun with it. Crucible is easy to figure out and it's fantastic; very reminiscent of pre-Halo 4. But if you're trying to experience the story missions in order of release like I was, forget it. It's impossible to figure out.

^ Funny you guys are posting about Destiny. I am just now really getting into it, big time. I just hit Level 40 last night.

This game has its hooks in me. I think about it when I am not playing it.

I was that way for awhile. Once I hit 40, the game started making more sense to me, and because of that, I stopped playing it as much. I like donating my gaming time to single player games I can finish so I can clear the backlog, and I feel like endless multiplayer games like that are gaming time wasted. I do enjoy it occasionally though. I've logged on a few times recently for the holiday crap and Sparrow races. The Legendary Mark bonuses are insane right now.

 
Picked up Never Alone bundle. Had been eying that game since it released but held off for the mediocre reviews. Always figured it would come to GWG but worth the chance at $3.80 for the bundle since even if it does go free the DLC would still be separate and I will have saved 20 cents...

That said, anyone know why MS sometimes charges me tax and other times doesn't? Got Elf tax free but just got charged for Never Alone. Both purchased through the website rather than the console. Is there a setting I can change? I'm in a region with no sales tax so not even sure why it's charging me...

I feel like Zheros gets undeserved hate. Yes, the game isn't good and I'll admit I didn't play it before the patch. But I played a few months ago (mainly thanks to a contest) and didn't think it was that bad. I'm sure the added checkpoints help though. Granted, unless it's for another contest, I probably won't go back to it, so there is that.
