It's $9.99 @ Target if you're into physical games at all. I never played it but I saw it this morning while my wife was discount Christmas shopping.
 
In the OP, it seems to indicate that the current sale prices will continue until 1/9, but i'm thinking the current sale ends then and that the current list of games on sale will change tonight to a new list of games and the current list will go back up to normal prices.  Is that correct?  I am specifically referring to the heading for "Week 2 Discounts - 12/29 - 1/9"

Discounts run that long, it is unusual but Major Nelson's blog states the same thing and the Xbox storefront lists those discounts as lasting 8 more days.

I'm sure I'm the only one hoping for a discount on Medal of Honor Airborne lol. For whatever reason I'm having the urge to play through it again. It's base price is only $15, which is somewhat reasonable.

I don't usually waste more than ten minutes accruing points per day. Use Edge for the bonus searches and quizzes, then search for your favorite games on both PC and mobile. Someone earlier in the thread recommended entering "halo games" and selecting each of the items on the list; this only works on PC, but it's fast and easy, which is something all cheapasses can appreciate. (Basically, search for something that has lots of items in a series, as each item counts toward your search points.)

If you do all that, you get somewhere around 300 points. Do that every day for two weeks - again, just ten minutes a day - and you'll have enough for a $5 code. I never get these magical emails you guys talk about with big bonuses, so if I forget to do this stuff I get nada.

Debating on Dragon Age before the sale ends. I love Mass Effect but DA Origins was hard for me to get into, but that was in part due to the fact the graphics/gameplay are kinda dated. I know DA:I has endless replay value, should I give it a go?

The first Dragon Age has the best story imho and might be the best combat depending on who you ask. More of a sequel to the older Baldur's gates games, kinda. Though I know back in the day there were cheaper deals for all the DLC+Base game. The "true" ending is also hidden in the ending, EA style as usual

For the price you can't go wrong if your backlog is small.

Edit: Oh! If you have EA access you might want to hold off. When they put Mass Effect 2+3 BC they put in the vault. I could see EA adding Dragon Age 1+2 to the vault. The dlc on the other hand...

DA: I is fun and cheap. It pretty much plays like a one person MMO. Go for it.


EDIT: And what I mean by that is the combat feels like a MMO

I think Ninja Gaiden itself is on hiatus due to the poor reception of 3. Team Ninja is working on the PS4 exclusive Nioh, which is probably the closest you'd get. Most of the games in the genre are PS4 exclusives currently, like Nier: Automata. The closest we're getting would probably be Scalebound, though it also sounds like Kamiya is trying his hand at RPG elements for the first time with it.

Ryu Hyabusa and probably more Ninja Gaiden characters are in crossover game Musou Stars which will probably be named differently in the west. I'd guess 35% chance of an Xbox version for the west. Definitely a Warriors game at it's core though, so the gameplay won't be the same as normal NG.

Not even in the same league. Shadow Warrior is a FPS with some cheeky humor like Duke Nukem. It's actually quite a decent game. The sequel however is 4 player co-op and supposedly has Borderlands like loot drops. Sadly the sequel is due out later this year vs already being released on PC.

I also wish Shadow Warrior was on sale. It's been as low as $5.99 on PS4 but I haven't seen it release on sale for the XBox One.

even if you don't play those types of games (I don't usually) it's a steal as far as bang for buck

It depends on the game for me. I keep that mentality for nearly every Capcom game because their achievements are usually ridiculous. But if a game has single player achievements that seem possible without too much of a grind or a headache, I try to get them all.

Def, depends on the game. I believe most of the hard achievements are meant for others but there's some, there's some that are the best challenges to try and achieve.

Getting that hard as nails achievement after a long long time yeah is super satisfying achieving them.

Clever FIghter in Pinball FX 2 - God, I was neglected of this one for over a year or so. Super satisfying getting it. I still remember running around my house as if I scored a goal for a premium European soccer team, GGGOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLL! (arms out like a super star lol)

Sooooo, I think if you love the Mass Effect series you'll love Dragon Age: Inquisition and there's a high chance Mass Effect: Andromeda will have influences of Inquisition, just as Inquisition has influences from Mass Effect 3. I've put in over 300 hours into DA:I, it's a def pick up at that price.

This.... MS's biggest problem since probably the 360 is when they scaled back their publising and going out to get some crazy exclusives. I bought an OG xbox just to play Ninja Gaiden, and a lot of that crazy Sega stuff they had. Phil get on it, granted we got Recore this year (snooze) but their regular franchises are all just sequels, the next Halo will be Halo 6, 8 if you count the offshoots, Forza 7, even the next Gears would be the 6th game.

DA:I is pretty good, but you must be willing to go for a while before you give up on it because it goes slow. And I wouldn't say "endless replay" as my one playthru hit about 100 hours.

You'd probably get better value with EA Access, though

That would be me if I ever got that stupid achievement on Halo Reach for surviving a big fall by assassinating an Elite. I tried for weeks to get that damn thing and it would never pop so I eventually had to give in. That achievement single-handedly ruined any of those "I must get this" feelings when it comes to achievements. Now I give it a shot and if I don't get it in a reasonable time, so be it.

my wii u is almost entirely physical

although it was a flop I'll probably be able to make some good cash down the road given how well I take care of my consoles and games

and Nintendo's hardware being so sturdy helps as well
