Blizzard was acquired before the second expansion of wow was released right? While WOW was expensive per month, It wasn't until Activision bought them that Micro transactions were heavily implemented into their game systems. They went from crating games and series such as The Lost Vikings, Starcraft/Broodwars, Warcraft 1-3/DOTA, and Diablo 1,& 2.... to creating games like Overwatch, Hearthstone, Diablo 3, Heroes of the Storm. Now while the games are mechanically sound they feel soulless and have zero engaging story(Except for maybe starcraft 2?). I used to care about their characters, now so, not so much.

 
Just picked up Dead Rising 4 via Gamefly and free shipping for $18. Paired with the $8 Season Pass digital, it brings it down to a really solid price. It's $40 digital, and $30 for the standard game if you were trying to buy everything through the Ultimate Sale.  I'm good with a sub-$30 game and DLC

Good to know thanks. I enjoyed 4 a lot, but have 3 and haven't played it, so maybe I'll stick with that for FC.

Personally opinions:

Out of the 3 I've played AK the most. This is solely due to the story. I really enjoy the batman universe, but I really hate the Batmobile. It's the reason I haven't finished the game yet. Even if you enjoy racing games the vehicle feels like a slip and slide fuck fest where you find the one rock in the yard you missed by having it rammed up your ass so hard it starts to bleed........ except you can't remove the rock or go around it. You have to repeatedly have it shoved up there over and over again till your stool is nothing but a scene from Dead Alive. The characters are on point though, and without spoilers, even though the hook of the story isn't great, the big picture is worth it. It also helps that the delivery and voice acting are top notch...... now if only they would make a game like this for The Flash or Deadpool....

Far Cry Primal felt like a rushed let down to me. The core mechanics are still there from FC3, but it just didn't feel fresh like 2 or 3 did. However, the only Far Cry I truly loved was Blood Dragon, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. If you like the formula of 3, and are interested in the prehistoric skin, it's probably worth your time.

I haven't played JC3 on the XB1. The Mod support is soooooo much better on PC, although I did hear that they were in Beta for XB1 and PS4 as of January of this year. Don't expect a great story here. Just expect to chain people; animals; cars; boats and planes together before launching them into the sky and watching them explode(Sometimes Killing yourself in the process). But if you are looking for the best destructible environments look no further. That is where this game shines. Blowing up innocent civilians on bridges has never felt more satisfying.

^ Well Origins shouldn't be looked at in the same light as it was developed by WB Games Montreal, not Rocksteady Studios, where they basically just left off where Rocksteady had done with the series.

I played both JC3 and Arkham Knight. JC3 was fun but the slow load times and crappy frame rate kind of ruined it for me. Arkham Knight didn't have the performance issues of JC3. A bit too much Batmobile but I think was the better game of the two.

I keep thinking about pickup JC3 but honestly once I beat the game I traded and hoped they would fix it. Short of playing on XBox One X or PS Pro I think it is still a mess.

This was on PS4.

 
Was using the Kongregate coupon and the B2G1 free sale at GS (combined with the extra 60% in trades for six crappy games) and came across the original Nier. Game is damn near impossible to find so snapped it up despite being $24.99 (hell, it was my free game and made out on thos bonuses).

So now Nier HAS to become BC or there will be hell to pay. :)

Seriously doubt that will happen. But I do have a 360 so it will be played.

Just be aware that there is no such thing as mods for Just Cause 3 on consoles. I don't know where that idea came from. Also, the game still has performance issues that likely won't be fixed via updates. Xbox One X might help there, but there's no guarantee just yet.

havent played it yet but just purchased it because I loved Maniac Mansion. I just played through Day of the Tentacle Remastered and Full Throttle Remstered on ps4 last month and both played great with a controller, so I wouldnt worry about the controller issue.

 
This may have been posted, and apologies if it's a duplicate, but I just checked my junk mail and noticed an offer from Groupon. It's targeted to certain accounts so definitely YMMV, but it was for 95% off any goods item (among other things) up to a maximum discount of $30 off. They have the Batman Return to Arkham collection which, after coupon, taxes, and shipping, totals $5 and change.

Thanks for posting these. I watched the first 30 minutes last night and continuing where I left off, it just gets worse. Bad enough that they crop the TV footage but now the running is slow (reminds me of the dream sequences in Max Payne). Glad I saved my $15 for an Xbox One.

Seriously, I decided to match what is in my XBox balance whenever there is a week of sales I like on Xbox One when I buy nothing on Xbox 360. So far I have $15 and will see if I "deposit" another $15 if there is nothing on the Xbox front (once I finish watching Part 2).

 
Thoughts on Battlefield 1 / Titanfall combo? Both communities are still active I'm assuming.

The Deluxe Editions are pretty much useless, right?

This is where I got it. I may have miss read but it sounded like there was still a finite chance of getting multiplayer and mods on console. But the multiplayer mod beta was for PC only it seems.

 
So it is not absolutely confirmed but it sounds like ME: Andromeda will not have any single player DLC.  I figure this might help some on deciding whether to buy the game now.

Not even joking but check your local library for it. Mine recently started having Xbone/PS4 rentals and it's one of the only Xbone titles left.

Guess I'm glad I held off on Micro Machines. Getting bashed pretty good -- especially on Steam where it has only 42% positive reviews. I'll wait until it's $10 or less.
 
New July XBL Rewards crap is up.

Wasn't that just a rumor started by a troll posing as the 3rd party dev hired to make the dlc? Bioware stated they don't contract out DLC and are busy working on single player content, but aren't ready to announce yet. Also, IIRC the game has a season pass and the mp content was announced to be free, so that kinda necessitates single player dlc on the horizon.

So a follow up after the original story is stating no single player DLC is in the works.

"A report from Kotaku, however, posted following EA's denouncement of Sinclari's false post claims that, separate from the Sinclair statement, sources told Kotaku that Andromeda will not see any single-player DLC.

When asked for comment regarding the new report, a representative for EA told IGN the company has nothing to announce about DLC at this time."

Again it is speculation at this time but Jason Schreier wrote that Kotaku article and he has a fairly decent track record on things like this.

 
OP is updated.  New character limit on posts means I had to remove the system icons, all StoreParser links and the non-Gold prices for XB1 DLC and 360 stuff.  Doubt I'll have room on Monday for date night unless I abbreviate a bunch of things, or go through and TinyURL all the marketplace links (unless CAG blocks those from posts).

I'd imagine a lot of newer games will get HDR updates down the road. Old ones? Not so much.

I finally got to try Marvel Heroes Omega aka Diablo with Marvel characters. The controls with Daredevil seemed off in terms of targeting enemies compared to say, Hawkeye. The frame rate is unlocked so if your sensitive to it like me It's all over the place. The X is going to be interesting when it comes to unlocked frame rate games. It's not Never Winter level bad but it can get pretty low when there's a ton of people on the screen. When it's just you and a friend It's not too bad. There seems to be quite a lot of content you can play through for $0. So it gets a thumbs up in my book.
