Hey yeah if I'm ever on and playing Rocket League, we should team up. I'm in the process of getting my headset replaced so I have to fall back on a simple stereo headset which doesn't have the mic (well technically it does I just don't know where it is lol). I do communicate with my team via quick chats though. I've been playing for a bit now but I still don't understand how some people can trigger a saying I can't get on the quick chat left, up, right, down d-pad shortcuts?

 
I'd just like to remind everyone that there's an open invitation/challenge to any pair that would like a shot at Dark Rider and my imaginary Rocket League title.

It was new and fun back then. Just like playing Uno naked on the vision camera was. Now its played out. No one likes being called a Nagger by someone who's balls haven't dropped yet. Plus if you curse now, enforcement will ban you. Too many times and its permanent and you lose your digital library if your console ever breaks or whatever.

It isn't just that. Xbox enforcement team is strict on verbal and text communication. It's a lot harder to get evidence of someone cussing you out online cause you have record it happening an all but they're strict on people cussing at each other. Send a person a text message saying how shitty they are at the game an you'll receive a 24hr communication ban almost instantly. The enforcement team system looks for offensive words and only that. Say something very cut an dry and you'll get away with it as it contains no cuss words or obviously offensive words. People don't bother telling others they suck because they don't want to be hit with a temp ban so pretty much everyone stays quiet or stay in party chat.

Not to mention the fact you can screen shot things and xbox record that etc. I know when I was playing a BC game I recorded a clip and people were swearing up a storm. Easy evidence to get someone banned. I'm not sure how strict they are with the people who've been with them forever as I've been reported with no bans, but it has shown in my enforcement history when I got salty and started scoring on my own team in Rocket League. That's about the worst I've done in the last year because I always party chat and team games are with my friends in party chat. Even in Rocket League randoms I will sarcastically say Nice Pass, What A Save! but will not dare to use voice chat encase I say something stupid.

 
My headset is always on. I don't think I've played outside of "party chat" since the Xbox one until this weekend tried a few rounds of DOOM's mp. Ha quickly used the mute all button on that. I don't even blush at cursing so much as every other jackass seems to have the Kinect as their headset solution.

Not really Xbox but for Steam games. I came across this app last night poking around my TV, and i know a couple people have Samsung KS8000 tvs or were looking at newer Samsungs to purchase. Haven't got it running yet but this is pretty neat, going to work on it tonight.

When I first got my Xbox One I found it odd, too. I found myself joining the crowd after a while, though. I don't know if it's the fact that I've matured since Halo 3/Left4Dead came out or that teens have gotten worse or some odd mixture of the two, but after playing Halo 5 in team chat when the game released I was done with chat forever after a week. It's always people blaring music and children shouting ephitets at me.

A couple of weeks ago I decided that I would try to go back to in-game chat for Friday the 13th because it seemed like it might be fun, but in practice that was one of the worst gaming-related decisions I have ever made. Not only did I have the music and hateful children, but there's also the people that are telling me that they're going to find and kill my family (totally not even people playing Jason) or people telling me that they've got my information and are sending police to my house. Shit is fucking stupid. The pure toxicity of the player base in that game is impressive. It quickly became one of those things where it felt like it is more worth it to completely forego any possible enriching interaction and just instantly mute all players no matter what the game may be. I find that truly sad to be the case too, given that I still actually have close friends that I originally met through Xbox Live on the 360 and have so many great memories of games we played together.

That's not new, though. Pretty sure Awakening DLC in total was more than the base game itself, too. If you count the other paths as DLC in Fates, Fates's DLC was more than the base game. Echoes DLC was probably the least quality of the three, though, as it's about half overclass ranks for the existing job classes. Needed more story DLC mixed in there.

 
The 360 came with a headset.  Everyone had one right out of the box so they were more likely to use it.  I guess everyone complaining about the horrible things people were saying during the 360 era may have influenced the decision to not include one with the Xbox One.  I didn't get a headset for a long time and the only reason I eventually got one was cause I dad game, ie late at night when everyone else has gone to bed.

 
I have plenty of great memories chatting with random people in Halo, Far Cry Instincts Predator, Shadowrun, Red Dead Redemption, GMod (PC), etc. Mute the people that annoy you and eventually the good ones will come through. Also don't be a try hard
 
I guess Techland announced Dying Light will continue to get more free DLC support for the next 12 months. It should include new enemies, new events, new mysteries, "and more."

I may have to pick up a copy and try out the new area they released awhile back.  I beat the main game though so I usually lose interest after that but it sounds like they have really added enough to make it fun to go back.

The disappearance of voice chat happened on Xbox 360 a long, long time ago. Pretty much when party chat started, which was nice to make multiplayer more enjoyable.

I'm talking about the season pass, which is the cheapest way of getting the DLC. Of course you can make any game's DLC more expensive in bulk than the game if there's enough of it. Though you're still making my overall point that Nintendo is willing to go overboard with DLC when it suits them despite what fans claim about their perfect consumer-friendly practices.

Unfortunately, with party chat most people are just using that unless it's a particularly competitive/team based game. You get occasional randoms but it's mostly silence over even annoying people

The Following storyline is rated at about 10 hours of gameplay, and even more for completionists. Sounds worth it to me. I'm not sure I've seen a game, other than this one and Witcher 3, with so much support after release

 
How did everyone feel about the Destiny 1.5 Beta? Anyone picking up the Day One "Early Adopters Will Almost Certainly Get Screwed Again" Edition?

I'm glad they extended the Beta because I haven't had much opportunity to play it, although I'll be echoing everyone else's sentiment that there isn't enough PvE in the Beta.

But just in case I like it, I have a CE and two LE's on pre-order.

I really liked it at first. But then after I finished it, I couldn't help but feel kinda lukewarm on it. It looks gorgeous, and plays great. But I'm not sure I want to jump in right at launch. Most likely will get it closer to Black Friday, where it will inevitably be $39.99.

(I love Destiny 1, but I was a late adopter - didn't play until Taken King was out.)

Kinda on topic - Does anyone know if the SR Gat Out of Hell 3 hour co op achievement is cumulative or needs to be 3 hours in a row?

Underwhelming. No teasers to get me excited about it. No mystery. No grandeur destiny 1 beta had. I stopped playing d1 when they added sparrow racing and got bored with racing and never came back to it. I found it funny that it takes a sequel of a game to finally walk around in the hanger in the tower and to finally see what's behind the black gate by the speaker. Am I gonna get the game day 1? Yea, mostly cause if reviews and if my friends says it's not good I can return my copy and put the money towards anthem.

I had the same feeling. I wanted to hated it, but ended up liking it and as i finished and did PVP and opened everything else up, i got the 'meh' feeling about it.

I'm still interested in the campaign so hopefully I'll pick it up when it's cheap, or bundled with dlc later on.
