DS2 is arguably the worst in the series but is still quite great. Especially with the 60fps boost.
Didn't care for Gigantic but a starter pack would be a big boost for the community.

Mordheim: City of the Damned's DLC's and add ons are also on sale. I had previously purchased the main game but  now I can cash out some Microsoft credit and get the DLC, etc.

I'll do my Anime Rewards write-up here in a bit.

Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure Raiden V, the Xbone Naruto game on sale and Phantom Breaker are all eligible for the promo.

Also, I'd recommend grabbing Rotastic and Things On Wheels. I think this is the first time they've been that cheap ($1.25 each) and there's a decent chance they'll be added to BC.

Slight chance the Forza Fast & Furious thing is getting delisted soon, as both versions are on sale outside of the usual Forza sale. There's no real evidence aside from that, just a gut feeling based on the fact that it's a movie license-related product and it released 2+ years ago. Up to you if you want to buy just in case, a lot of us already have it from when it was free.

Edit: Nevermind lots of Forza crap on sale.

Yeah the reddit sub can be really whiny and pathetic. When that RE super bundle had the glitched price, I posted it telling people to buy it asap. I got downvoted to hell, a ton of replies insisting "it's the sale price this week, idiot." When the price reset and a bunch of people didn't buy it in time, I felt pretty smug. I assume most of the regulars are 13 year olds.

Finally a sale on Dreamfall Chapters. I love the first 2 games and have been waiting for the third one to go on sale since it's release. It has great reviews on steam and I can't wait to play it!

Am I the only one that has never even been to Reddit much less actually used it? I have no idea what it even is. Every time I hear it talked about it sounds confusing as hell. Like what does it offer or do better that the rest of the internet doesn't?

I've always said Reddit is terrible, as it sucks for discussion and the moderation tends to be incredibly overzealous. They are however decent for information found in titles/bodies of OPs. For example, I check their GameDeals Reddit pretty much everyday (sorted by the newest posts), and just skimming the titles is helpful.

As far as CE stuff, no idea. The game itself is alright albeit a bit short, but if you liked the previous game you'll like this.

PS4 one is no different.

 
Dark Souls 2 would be the worst if DS1 didn't age so poorly. DS1 really needs a remaster. Played 1 and 2 the most getting all achievements in both. Might work on getting all of DS3 in the near future.

Respectfully disagree, while DS1 has it warts with how old it is I still feel it's a much better game than DS2. Hell I'd give Demons Souls the nod over DS2...

DS3 is a slog for the covenant stuff but it's at least fun. I still need to the DS3 DLCs but I got the platinum back in January I believe.

I think it is. The statue is high quality and looks great on a shelf, but the rest of the items are meh. The steelbook is nice, the dlc is nothing of note, and the art book is tiny. If you don't already own the game I'd pull the trigger at that price point just to have the steelbook, game, and statue.

Dual wielding and bonfire ascetic were two huge features that didn't return to 3. Yes 3 has dual wielding, but you are restricted to certain weapons. No more making your own weapon combinations. While I loved how small and cozy DS1 felt by neatly connecting different locations together, DS2 felt like the more epic adventure in terms of locations. SOTFS is the version I played most. Rented vanilla at launch and played through it before guides were available, which was very fun learning with the community, but I don't have much experience with vanilla.

Huge disclaimer, I have yet to play what is widely known as the best part of the whole Souls series. That is DS1 DLC. When I played DS1, I was addicted to achievements and sick of the game from farming for achievement items. Every time I go to replay the game, it feels so slow that I can't get into it again. I'll try again in a few weeks, but I'd rather a smoother remaster.

I also don't care about the story, which is also supposed to be a big reason why DS1 is so great looking, especially the DLC.

I'm not looking forward to the covenant grind in 3. I farmed most of the items in 2 offline. For 1 and 2, I mostly only used an item checklist. That wasn't helping me in 3, mostly due to the multiple endings. There's a good guide on XA from start to finish, so I'll probably start fresh and follow it closely.

DS2 is arguably the worst in the series but is still quite great. Especially with the 60fps boost.

Here's why I think it's fake...

Total is conveniently the same as last month's. $59+ and 4000 gs.

Now the 4000 gs adds up it seems. But the $59+ doesn't really. $9.99+$39.99 are accurate for XBox One. If you add in the supposed $9.99 and $19.99 that it looks like for the 360 games, that's $79+. Unless it happened to be a placeholder by Microsoft, which I doubt.

Which leads to problem #2. Neither of the 360 games are BC as of this point and also aren't available to download digitally, so the price is unknown. And while I'm too lazy to go through the lists of BC dates and GWG, they don't seem to have often made one game in a month, let alone two, be newly BC games to GWG, aside from ACIII. Unless maybe early when they announced all 360 games would be BC.

99% chance? I'd say 1%.

Still, beats the other one I saw where the guy had one game with an ESRB and another with PEGI.

Dark Souls 2 is my favorite of the series easily, but I've enjoyed all of them, Bloodborne is probably the one I liked the least, but it's easily still worth playing.

You can't be saying you liked power stance. I know Dark Souls is all about obscure stat and weapon progression, but the dual weild system in DS2 was just bonkers. "If you have 1.5x the stats required to weild a weapon one handed in your left hand, you apply part of the weapon in your right hand's moveset when weilding the weapon with your left hand with both hands. Sometimes you just get a generic 2 handing moveset tho, and that can vary by whether the weapon is in your right or left hand." WTF?! And don't even get me started on how they tied invincibility frames in rolls to a stat.

Bonfire Ascetics are a feature I wish had carried on from 2 > 3, along with an incentive to equip multiple copies of the same spell. It also seems like a huge step back that ng+ bosses just have more hp, instead of additional abilities and environmental changes.

Covenant grinding has always been the low point of the series for me. At least 3 finally lets you switch freely without having to trek back and forth across the world and deal with pardoning your sin for leaving. Although basically omitting sin wasn't much of a solution either.

Cozy? Not an adjective I see associated with Souls much.

The gameplay in DS1 is slower and more deliberate, such as being unable to cancel actions once started, but this lends itself to a more tactical approach. I also think this makes the platforming much easier than in subsequent games that have twitchier controls, but 2 and 3 didn't have much platforming anyways.

The framerate issues in Blighttown are real tho. Maybe the X1X will be able to run it smoothly. :rolleyes:

Oh ya, I hated Bloodborne. It felt like DMC. I really didn't like the lack of weapon and playstyle variety. After the tutorial zone of any other Souls game you have multiple weapons easily available. Don't like the starting weapon you chose in BB? TFB cause you're stuck with it for hours until you get even a single other option. Oh, you want use ranged attacks? TFB because you can only carry 20 bullets and you don't even get a spell until after the 2nd boss. Oh, you want to block and mitigate damage instead of dodging every attack? TFB because there are no sheilds and even your vampiric attacks fail to recover all your hp. Wuxia or GTFO. (Lol, I accidentily typed "Waifu or GTFO" at first. I should probably stick to terminology with which I am more familar.)

captbrannigan... would you ever consider playing DS3 together sometime? I love all three games (and Bloodborne too) - but have never beaten any of them. Not even close. I am only like 3 bosses in to DS3. 

(I will never forget how I felt after beating the Belfry Gargoyles in DS2. Heart was beating through my shirt.)

I love the Dark Souls games, but don't always have the patience to persevere. Perhaps if I died played alongside you, we could win bigly.

I have no clue how to co-op though. Mayhaps I need to boil up some soapstone...

EDIT: If one of us dies, do we have to buy the co-op soapstone shit all over again - or it it mult-use?
