Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

It appears to be all of the requirements are really adding up. I'll go fire up the game here in a couple hours to see how far off I personally am. Not too bad to get an easy 500 gs and right now each achievement is 2300 TA points.
If you can't sign in to Live you won't have access to your saves.

Anyone else showing you've not got Gold even though you do on your console? Where the deals pane is on my homescreen it's showing Join Now.

Sucks that I bought it months ago and just found out from playing Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster that there's a bug affecting it on S & X models.  Where cutscenes(usually reconnecting the train power's CG movie is the first one) causes the XB1 to power down literally.    Appears to be caused from something in the Fall 2018 system update with no work around right now. Microsoft and Capcom both know about it and MS seems to have known about for a month now.

I did notice a work around though if you're an Xbox Insider.  The preview updates(Delta or higher) seem to fix it.  Sucks for anyone that has to wait for those public system updates, as it might not be until April for the next one.

So if you're not an Insider and want to buy that game on your S or X model, wait until the update.  Otherwise, you're going to buy a broken game right now.

Fun couple of days thanks to that shitstorm of coldness. Woke up yesterday to frozen pipes that I was thankfully able to save with a bunch of heat. Then the cold finally killed my car battery for good. On the plus side it was cold enough that my college closed for a couple days so I have the week to do nothing.

I'm hoping the Soul Calibur CaS DLC comes out this week, they missed the January tease they made and the director sort of said he doesn't want to do more non-specific dates because of that.

I don't know this guy but a rumor is floating around about a F2P Titanfall Battle-Royale game releasing Monday. Apparently Shroud and other BR and Titanfall streamers were brought in LA yesterday for a secret event, supposedly checking it out.

Yeah I'm taking that with a huge grain of salt. BUT OMG I WANT THIS!!!!! Titanfall may secretly be my favorite game of this gen, despite it's online only design, then again the online in Titanfall 2 didn't grab me the same way.

Got an update for the Microsoft Rewards app on the Xbox and now I only have 1 punchcard and the survey, not even the 5 point offers for clicking on the game/mixer tiles. This is for Australia by the way.

The punchcard is the buy 3 movies over $5 and get points (can't remember how many). This has an expiry on it, but when it expires instead of getting new offers and quests, it just restarts again and no new offers. This has been going on for a few months. We did get the one a few months ago for gamepass, but then they decided no to do any more.

It is like they are not even trying.

Also, looks like Australia does not get Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon for games with gold as it is not available. We get Race the Sun, here is a link, most people probably already have it as it was a replacement games with gold somewhere else.

If it is true I do think it's a bit funny that Respawn was able to get a Battle Royale mode/game out faster that the announced at E3 Battlefield V version. They may not have had a game come out recently but we know they're working on that Star Wars game so it's not like this took all of their resources.

I also think it's funny that EA is going to once again put out competing products so close together again, with this now and the Battlefield V mode coming in March. At least it isn't as bad with this being F2P and the Battlefield thing being a side mode on more traditional game.

All in all I don't know how well it will do but it does have the setting and mech gameplay to differentiate it much more than CoD and Battlefield so it could have a chance at least.

Yeah everything logical goes against this being true. They are trying to launch a massive new franchise in a couple weeks, they are going to under cut that by releasing anything else? But I do want.

The fact that Shroud tweeted about the secret showing is what's making me thing it has legs. He's one of the top 3 or 4 guys on Twitch so it would make sense. Dr. Lupo (a smaller but popular guy who does a lot of events and often streams with Ninja) seemingly responded like he was there too. Plus, Dr. Disrespect didn't stream yesterday and had something NDA'd according to people posting. This event being in LA is another plus for the rumor. There are only so many studios in LA that would have something that would make sense to use Shroud to promote. I think Twitch itself is in San Francisco, not LA.

My only thought for the shadow drop would be a Super Bowl ad reveal, but I don't think EA has enough faith in Titanfall to do something that crazy, especial for something that is more likely than not to flop when it has such strong competition.

You know, while Maximilian Dood is known as a Fighting game guy, he's still connected. He DID say in his DBFighterZ Season 2 trailer reaction that he's"going up to redacted to play redacted" on the 31st.

Anybody played Earthfall Deluxe Edition? Is it any good?
EB Games Australia is on sale for under $20 (most probably $19.99 lol), is it worth it?
It’s not too bad, kinda fun multiplayer shooter. The friend that got it for me said it’s very Left 4 Dead, which he loved (and I never played much), so if that’s up your alley it may be worth it. You can play the missions solo and with AI companions but that can get annoying. With at least one friend it’s ok. Also, haven’t tried in a while now but last time we were looking to play it was giving us a hard time even connecting to each other, so unless that’s fixed be prepared for some struggles up front. Gameplay and graphics are decent for the price though - as in, nothing spectacular, but definitely fun to be had.

Also I’d be super pumped with a Titanfall BR game. I’m not too into the BR stuff yet, but I did enjoy TF1 for the most part, and loved the campaign of TF2 (not good enough to compete in MP usually in that style, but it can be fun). I’d definitely be down to try it, though. I’m also very much looking forward to any sort of info on Respawn’s Star Wars game, though.

Yeah, he did come to mind having seen that video. I know he has been streaming Black Ops 4 Blackout a bunch and has a pretty big audience so it isn't out of the question, though there are a bunch of fighting game related things coming up he could have been talking about. I think some of the Easy Allies were going to an event in the last couple of days too.

World Enduro Rally is up for $0.99.

I'll just cut to the chase: if anyone bought it, how easy are the achievements?
To my understanding, the 1st/2nd/3rd place achievements are based on global leaderboards. So not only are a lot of them probably already close to impossible for most people unless they're gods, but you can also potentially lock yourself out of the lower ones if you happen to get 1st place and no one bumps you out of it.

Sooooo... Yeah, a complete mess of a list.

True, and I enjoy some of his Yo! videos of their Blackout gameplays.

I thought I'd throw a little fuel onto the fire in this discussion lol.

Apparently the embargo on Anthem info is over. People are saying there isn't much endgame content for launch.

-3 Strongholds (basically Destiny strikes but slightly longer)

-1 story mission (with modifiers or higher difficulty?) rotating daily.

-Open world areas with small activities and bosses (basically Destiny patrol zones and public events)

-0 Raids.

Sounds extremely light to me. Destiny 1 had 6 Strikes at launch, rotating dailies, rotating weeklies, patrols with public events, and while it was released at launch due to level requirements, they clearly informed players a raid was coming. All that and people still weren't thrilled with the endgame essentially until 3 expansions later, though they kept players entertained enough to stay playing, which is something. Bioware better have a TON of loot and widely varying abilities or they're going to have people bored really quickly. I know from the streams I've watched the massive amount of loading screens while patrolling just gets more and more annoying.

I enjoyed my time with the demo last week, minus the weird "stuck at a loading screen with a mostly full progress bar" and a few mechanics that felt weird. The exploring was a lot of fun but I can see it being pretty shallow and the flying was for the most part VERY enjoyable. I also liked that the javelins were very different from each other.

I expect that like Destiny, and other games like Sea of Thieves, that the game will evolve over time and will have more content. That being said if I get the game I will definitely wait to see just how it evolves. Until then, let the sales begin!

I thought TF2’s campaign was great. I had no interest in the first one since it was multiplayer but when TF2 came to EA Access I gave it a shot. Of all the mainly multiplayer EA games with campaigns, TF2 blew them all out of the water. Great story.

I've been playing the demo again this weekend and still having lots of fun. I'm bad at Colossus, still good at Storm. Trying the nimble one now.

Couldn't get past the map in Anthem. It kept telling me to select the mission, but I couldn't ever actually go anywhere. Uninstalled. I'll wait until the game has been out for six months and a decent sale knocks it down cheap. Learned my lesson with FO76, never buying an online game again until it's been out and updated for months.

The issue you're talking about is cause the missions are designed with coop in mind. You pick the mission and go back to a lobby to wait for everyone to ready up before you hit a different button to launch. Had the same problem at first. There's a lot of clunkiness to the menus but I don't expect the content to stay light. I'm sure they're doing the "living game" model where they roll everything out later.

Had that issue with the map/mission also. And in game if nobody knows the mission.. it’s a lot of running around and shooting stuff until you figure out what you are supposed to be doing. Sometimes the objectives are not exactly obvious. Had to defend something in one mission and the enemies kept spawning and runnning at us.. we kept killing them and they kept coming.. took 3-4 minutes before we realized that you had to stand by the terminal capture the flag style and not kill the guys running towards but not at the terminal. And then a “puzzle” later that all of us in that map had zero clue what to do. That took a while and some random clicks to get done.

The game is fun though, I see the potential. It just has a lot of minor things that are kind of annoying. I’m with cheapyd.. will be $30, but I say by April not June 😉

Popped all 4 new FH3 achievements when I started the game.  Was at 757 races and 244 snowmen smashed, so I just barely cracked it.

Gears 4 eSports streams start at 11am Eastern.

Hopefully this doesn't run afoul of the site's promotion rules, but some of my co-workers are doing a 24 hour Extra Life session for Children's Miracle Network that started at midnight Eastern last night.  They're currently streaming Smash on the Switch and a feed of the setup.  They did some Halo Reach campaign earlier, and there will be some COD Zombies and a Metroid Prime speed run later.

No Titans sounds like a bad choice but I guess it could be pretty hard to balance a battle royale map big enough for 60 players and several mechs. It still should be somewhat unique, Titanfall's movement is much more extreme than Fortnite, PUBG, or Blackout so that's something. The bigger thing could be the abilities and classes. The closest we have to that is the perks you can pick up in Blackout, but if they're like Destiny or Overwatch that could be a pretty big change.

I had to grind out the snowmen and Hot wheels jumps. Finished both this morning. For the snowmen
Bucket list Challenge #4 in Blizzard Mountain is to run over 20 snowmen. It lays out a bunch for you. Ran that 4 or 5 time.

This is a pretty damn good deal, even with the ass-hattery of Spyro's disc only having 1/3 of the content on it.

Well, that’s a bummer. To me, that isn’t Titanfall. No Titans and it’s just another shooter.
I mean, to be fair, that's why its Apex Legends.

There are no Titans Falling.

One of the biggest complaints with most battle royale games is that they become loot collection quests...and then the player gets killed. But Titanfall is so fast-paced that Apex Legends matches probably won't take long. The player can get to the heart of the excitement quicker, which I imagine will have a lot of pull for some players that like the concept of BR games, but not their current slow-paced execution.

Interesting idea.

I might actually watch a Twitch stream just to see how the BR tactics meets wall-running gameplay comes together. Especially sense Respawn knows FPS games better than anyone.

Guys, I need help...my wife and I opened our home to a couple from church who needed a place to stay for awhile.  The guy came in with all his stuff this morning, and he unpacked the enemy right in front of me.  I gasped very lightly so he couldn't hear and stepped out of his room, but I have to face the truth.  There's now a PS4 in my Microsoft dominated home.

Should I just politely tell him to leave or just destroy the enemy console ( :twoguns:  :ps4: ) and rescue him from darkness?

Kick him out, but after you check to see if he has God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn first. If he does, play them first.

I don't know, 60 players would still mean a pretty decently sized map. If you just drop 60 players in a small map it's going to be a bloodbath and much closer to a death match than a BR. Currently, it's not impossible to have a more fast paced game in the other BR modes if you play aggressively and drop in popular locations, it's just a hell of a lot riskier. Loot collection is just part of the genre so far so I'm not sure how you get around that when making this style of game.

One thing I could see setting them apart is a map with a smaller amount of land but a focus on verticality thanks to the parkour gameplay. it would have to be a really small map with tall structures to accomplish what I'm thinking.

Seeing as he's a church goer, I think an advance warning is fair.

I'd say leaving a dismembered PS4 controller in the guest bed should get the point across and let him know who's boss before things turn too hostile.

When did video games get to be so depressing?  I spent the morning trying games in my backlog.  I played The War is Mine, and that one made me sad.  Then, I played Firewatch, and that made me sadder.  So, I played Spelunky again for the millionth time to cleanse my palate.  Strangely enough, my mood perked up at that point.
