I swear Ubisoft had too many idiots running it. It has to be tough to get folks up there that are struggling with English (no knock here, I understand why they are) to then try to be charismatic but they brought a couple presenters that were cringey.

I liked the new Ghost Recon and am optimistic but also cautious about Watch Dogs. Sam Fisher reduced to a mobile game tho? For shame, especially considering Microsoft just announced all the Splinter Cell back Compat titles.

They are doing something neat with Delta Company. I looked at it and if you're active in the communities, it looks favorable. Time will tell

Is it the usual obsidian gear? Was hoping we wouldn't get anymore of those since they introduced mixer loot which seems to only have the obsidian sea of thieves dlc last I heard.

Stuff with licensing issues is always going to be unlikely when they can't sell it anymore. I would have loved Blur and the Transformers Cybertron games.

Look, I get it. This doesn't bother most of you that much, but it does bother me. I'm annoyed that backward compatibility has ended on the Xbox One. I'm annoyed that games that should have been backward compatible were forsaken for games that were already over-represented on the system. (Someone else said that only 10% of the games in the BC list were first person shooters, but I'm counting ten Call of Duty games alone. Were ten Call of Duty games really necessary? Really?) I'm annoyed that I have to buy another system to resume that slow drip of games from previous generations, and I'm annoyed that I may still not get the kinds of games I want to play even if I buy a Scarlett, or an Xbox 33 1/3rd, or whatever they're going to end up calling it.

I've cooled off a little about this. What's done is done, and there's no way to change the decision Microsoft has made. Still, it's aggravating that I can't retire my Xbox 360 and classic Xbox, because the games I enjoyed most on those two systems just won't make the migration to newer ones. They probably never will, as long as Microsoft continues its selective approach to backward compatibility. I greatly prefer the old BC standard of "put a disc or cartridge from your last system into your new one, and it will probably work."

 
Damn. Square Enix definitely has the best opening of any conference: screen showed Cloud's sword stuck in the ground with a menu that said New game, Continue, Remake?. The cursor slowly went down to Remake?, then showed a new FFVII trailer. 

Ubisoft definitely had the worst opening with the really slow symphonic AC music.

 
Blur and a lot of the licensed stuff was never happening because of expired licenses.
As for Max Payne 3, blame Rockstar.
They've been really crappy about supporting BC on Xbone, choosing instead to rerelease upscaled versions of their PS2 games on PS4.
Max Payne 1 & 2 were also delisted not that long ago, so that might have something to do with it.

I think part of the problem was how willing devs/publishers/who ever owns the rights to a game were willing to work with Microsoft. That's probably why almost half of these final games are ubisoft games.
 
I don't play Sea of Thieves so I always wonder if these Mixpots trinkets add anything beyond cosmetic appeal. Would someone who plays care to weigh in? Purely for curiosity

If the GameStop in question has one of those testing machines, they'll know about the stick drift in about 15 seconds. If you have a Microsoft Store near you, reach out to them and see if they can help in any way.

Agreed. Pleasantly surprised by the combat system being a hybrid of FFXV and FFVII where you have the flexibility to play more action or turn-based. Even more interested now, but I bet this will be like FFXV in another way and have 5 different ultimate final complete royal editions every few months.

That’s true. Plus it’s not like it was a popular game anyway the first time around. But I still had hope! The Transformers games would have been awesome!

Interesting, I thought I heard/read somewhere that the FFVII Remake would be released for :ps4: and :xb1:.  Maybe it is a timed exclusive?

I watched like 10 minutes of that sea of thieves stream cause I was bored and there was a female player on there that had an attitude with her teammates the entire time, I was waiting for one of them to tell her to stfu.
 
The new console will be able to play all Xbone games, so we are going back to the old way standard of BC. I don't really think it makes sense to complain about 10 BC Call of Duty games when it's one of the most popular and best selling series of the last two generations. No, the drip feed of BC Xbox had for this generation was not ideal, but they added this feature late, it's hard to complain about the effort if you consider your BC options on competing platforms PS4 and Switch.

I don't think they do the testing, and I don't have a Microsoft store within a reasonable distance unfortunately.

 
So I’m assuming that some of these new BC games will be added digitally? Splinter Cell Chaos Theory was probably my favorite of the series and not available digitally.

And of course, our free Too Human still isn’t either.
 
Oh man, Enslaved and Asura’s Wrath were the two games I’ve been waiting for since they announced BC! I highly recommend both games for anyone who hasn’t played them.
 
The game looks pretty good but I have concerns. Four or five studios working on this game, and plans for years of support means it's probably cross-gen. No paid characters or locations makes it sound like we're going to get raked over the coals by cosmetics.

We're getting fucked by Sony again though. I guess this is what's taking up Destiny's exclusivity spot. Thanks Square-Enix.

 
Arugula for what it's worth I think you're incorrect. You don't have to buy Scarlett to get the next wave of BC games when or if they resume doing so.

By it's very nature you should still be able to continue buying and playing those games on your Xbox One.

Me personally there are a few games that im disappointed haven't become BC and may never but it's been a great program that has bolstered my game library.

Well Avengers certainly has a look, seems an odd choice to go with the here's kind of the Blumhouse version of the characters in the film universe. 

 
Thank god Microsoft has amazing healthcare , the backwards compatibility team will need top tier therapy after playing Too Human for more than 10 minutes.
