Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

On Xbox.com they've made it much more obvious, the confirmation "extra step" pop-up after clicking the download link displays a link that simply says "Use Microsoft Points" directly under the price in dollars at the top of the page.

I had to look at my calendar to make sure it's not April 1st. :)

Question about the Walking Dead download. I heard the disc version has issues whereas the GoD one works fine. Can anyone shed more light on this? I'm a little low on HDD space right now but $10 for all 5 chapters is hard to pass up.

There's no Games on Demand version since it was originally released as an XBLA game with episodic DLC. The issues arose in the port to the disc version that didn't affect the original game, but it's not without its own issues.

The XBLA version has big darkness problems where your color range setting being anything other than the standard setting causes the game to be incredibly dark and almost unplayable, which can at least be avoided. It also has stuttering that happens between every scene change that causes the audio to start playing before the video catches up, which was more jarring than a big issue for me. i also heard of save issues for the XBLA version, though that can be avoided by backing up your save to the cloud between each episode so it doesn't get messed up.
So... does Nelson's blog mean this Spring Sale will be going on in the US also? I remember originally it was a UK thing.
Yes.
Kinda want the DLC of Skyrim, but also Kinda hoping for a GoTY edition with everything included. $23 for DLC is still rich for my blood...
Bought all DLC for Oblivion, and Fallout 3. Afterwards I bought the "complete editions". Doing the same with Skyrim. Gonna buy New Vegas Ultimate, being late to the party and all.

For me, not always having broadband readily available, having the GOTY editions are a blessing. But more importantly I don't mind supporting Bethesda, I really haven't been let down by those games.

You can take it to the bank that Bethesda will be throwing together a Skyrim GOTY, and they aren't done making DLC. Hopefully a couple more.

It was a UK, Germany, France, etc thing because those languages were already posted to "Xbox.com", but the US language page merely remained unavailable.

Previously on The Walking Dead...

Never had any issues with darkness, and I have a 34" XBR970 which is too dark. Having to brighten up most games. The stuttering never really bothered me, since 95% of the time the audio was in synch and you don't miss much. Not once did I have a save issue with one long playthrough with many reloads to make different choices.

Not saying that you aren't correct. They are valid. Nor do I think its correct that they release it with bugs. But many issues tend to range from person to person. PS3 and retail being worse. Even if you run into some problems, it's still awesome. Best story I've played since the first Mass Effect. I've literally held my breath at some points, an emotional rollercoaster.

Next time on The Walking Dead...
Hitman Bloodmoney for $10. Most likely going to get that.
Loved it, played it a ton and is on of the few I 1000/1000'd.

I didn't say it was bad or anything. He asked about issues with the XBLA version and I stated what I had experienced and heard. The only issue I had with the PSN version was the stuttering that I mentioned, which makes it much better to me due to less issues.

I played through Walking Dead on the PS3 and ran into plenty of issues. (Losing all your game saves REALLY sucks). The game was just buggy as hell across all platforms I guess. Still enjoyed it though, I just hope that TT reinvests some of the money they made from it into improving the sequel.

I had no bugs playing through it, but anyone playing it now I would strongly advise you do a copy/save in the menu each time you play. just in case...

I only had minor problems with TWD, such as de-synch audio conversation in a single video sequence. No major problem.

Really excited with the Ducktales remake, I knew all the secret passages and items back on NES (or so I thought :)).

Thanks ... I'm in the OP now, making it all pretty-like. :)

Fantastic! I've been waiting for the Skyrim DLC to go on sale since the sale that never was a month or so ago.

Thanks Zonic. Whatever marketing guy came up with that trailer is a very smart dude. I love that trailer.
And on top of that is not just lazy port. Looks like BC Rearmed quality, which was remake done right. :)
This is what got me excited. This will probably be one of the very very very rare times that I actually pay full price for an XBLA game instead of waiting for a sale.

All done in the OP ... obviously another mass-edit will be necessary to add "xbldb", Metacritic, etc, or any other pertinant info like GoD vs. used disc prices.
can't wait for horse armor sale april 1st
I was SOOO close to putting that in the OP, but decided someone else can be snarky for once.

For what it's worth, I had every problem Frisky mentioned with the XBLA version of Walking Dead, including losing my save. Luckily I had heard about the issue and was backing it up regularly, so I only lost about a half hour.

I also like the trailer, looking forward to the game!:D
Thinking of buying Just Cause 2 and DR Case West.
Great minds think alike cause those were the two things I was going to get. I'm still on the fence on JC2.

Definitely going to get Dragonborn for $10. Seems like a great value.
Great minds think alike cause those were the two things I was going to get. I'm still on the fence on JC2.
Just Cause 2 is one of my favorite games on the Xbox. It's just so much fun!

Been waiting for ORC DLC to go on sale forever. Now the only DLC I need to go in sale is The Force Unleshed and i'll have all the DLC I want in every game (until Dishonored's DLC comes out)

Case Zero is a steal at $2. It's very fun for such a short game.
any opinions on Case Zero and Heathfire? For the price, I might pick them up
I liked Case Zero, I thought the short length was actually a strength. I feel like I might have tired of the gameplay if it had been longer. Easily worth a couple bucks in my opinion though. If you like the premise and/or genre at all you'll probably agree.

I think the Dead Rising arcade games much better than the retail games. I get very bored playing the retail games after an hour or two. I completed the arcade titles in just one setting (about 5 hours each) and was left wanting more. So I definitely recommend Case West and Case Zero, especially if you enjoy the retail titles.
Ducktales HD coming this summer to XBLA, PSN, & Wii U eShop, being developed with WayForward.
Freaking sweet. That was one of the two games I stole from my neighbors when I was a kid, the other being Super Mario bros 3. Def getting this.

So Case West and Zero are about 5 hours? Seems pretty good for $1.60 and $3.20

So it's a longshot, but does anyone here play Max Payne 3 with the DLC? Do people play online with the DLC ever? I'm curious about the Max Payne 1 remake levels, but I'm having a horrible time finding matches with the core game. I'm not sure if it's because I don't have the DLC and everyone else does, or if there's actually not a soul playing this game.

I'm totally in for dawn guard. I actually just got dragonborn from GameStop for $10 by using one of the power up reward coupons.

Looks like I'll finally be picking up Walking Dead and Dead Rising arcade titles. I know I'm late to the game on both, but ran out of points when they were on sale/or forgot previous sales. And DuckTales looks good, if it's fun I'll pick it up. Needs online co-op to play as the nephews, Launchpad or anyone else. HA!
can't wait for horse armor sale april 1st
I actually would buy horse armor for Skyrim. Because they would make it worth while this time. They've learned, besides I'm such a fan they could almost sell me anything at this point.

Besides Dragonborn there really isn't anything jumping out at me in the spring sale. That's mostly due to the ton I bought during the New Year's sale. I would love to see Braid, Crysis or Forza Horizon Season Pass. Been playing that like crazy. Non of that is going to happen though. At least I'm not the only one wondering where the arcade games are.

I have to admit... this actually made me a little teary with nostalgic-joy.

Then I read the Capcom Blog and felt a pang of doubt/dread.

All the talk of expanding animations, bringing in the original remaining voice actors, and making sure scrooge is colored correctly, and then there's this:

DuckTales Remastered is currently set to launch this summer on XBLA, PSN and the Wii U e-Shop, and we’ve only just scratched the surface of what’s in store. We’ll have so much more to show in the months ahead, including the game’s new controls, additional areas, a Duckburg museum to track your progress, remixes of some of the most classic videogame music of all-time, and my personal favorite… A MONEY BIN YOU CAN ACTUALLY SWIM IN!

Hrmm, time will tell how far they stretch this into either a devoted, loving-remake--or into homage-levels of... Bionic Commando Rearmed 2.
