Light, Medium, Heavy, and a dedicated launcher rather than every character having their own launcher you had to figure out in 2. Aside from that the 3 character selection can be kind of intimidating until you start figuring out how to get some synergy from your chosen team, and long air-combos are pretty important for higher level play. That said, if you're playing with people of your own skill level you'll still have fun, having so many characters means a lot of variety if you want it.

If you've never played a Capcom style fighter it's going to be a bit of an adjustment from the other games you mentioned. Block isn't a button press like MK or Soul Calibur, and special inputs are mostly about circle motions rather than the directional input of 3D fighters or odd directional inputs many MK characters have.

Single player selection sucks like most Capcom fighters. Fairly barebones arcade mode with a decent boss fight at the end, and a few gimmick modes aside from training.

Nothing for me in last week's sale, nothing for me in this week's sale. I'd bite on either TF Devestation or TF Dark Spark but they're still too much $$$ in my opinion.

The game is dumb fun, but be prepared to run into matches online where you get hit once and you lose a guy. Putting teams together is fun as is learning a particular character's infinite combo, but it can be horribly unbalanced.

I think if you buy them for 360 you get them on xb1..... idk about windows 10 though. Don't quote me on this. I'll ask my buddy who has them, then edit my post.

EDIT: Looks like it is platform upgrade only. So if you buy them on 360 you will get them on xb1 but not windows.

Hot dog arm didn't hold up well at launch. The swinging around itself was pretty decent, and I think I remember fun bosses, but everything else was average at best. The story was bad, and that character design is a joke. I'm just glad I had Rearmed so I could play as the cool classic design.

I guess it is worth checking out at $3 though.

 
The Overwatch even is over in-game, but I'm still earning the Uprising lootboxes. I'd guess it's going to go away with the server maintenance in the morning, so hop on and grab the arcade boxes now.

I played it on 360 and from what I played it was quite enjoyable. Game was on the difficult side though, so it's more likely people gave up while playing. Only made it halfway or so when I played, but it's been a few yeats.

Yeah, buy them on 360 to get them free on Xbone. Zen hyped Windows 10 cross buy when they brought it to Windows 10 if you had the Xbone versions but that never happened.

I really liked the campaign for Sniper Elite 4. I couldn't tell you about the DLC, since I bought the physical disc and wasn't paying full retail for the Season Pass. If it's anything like Sniper Elite 3, the DLC has never been on sale separately (to my knowledge), only as part of the Gold/Ultimate/Mostly Complete Edition (it's missing the Kill Hitler pre-order DLC, I believe).

Lot of hit or miss or games (out of what I don't already have).

Probably the only game that has a realistic chance of being bought may be Aqua Kitty if anyone has experience with that. Saw that it was a shmup, but looks like it plays a bit on the slow side from videos?

They put in a gym, a weekend junk market, some fancy movie theater that serves booze and dinners, and supposedly the new owner wants to put in a reptile house and aquarium hoping to draw crowds...they should just tear it down, the only place left that anyone actually goes to in there is Boscov's.

Welp. Between Friday afternoon and today, I've spent about 19 hours playing Axiom Verge. The first 14 were the first playthrough, then I beat it again on hard.

As a lifelong Metroid fan, I didn't end up loving it quite as much as I expected. The story isn't as interesting as I was hoping, but the gameplay is very solid. Also, a key plot element is almost identical to another, more popular game, which is kind of a bummer. In spoiler tags for anyone who wants to discuss or doesn't care about spoilers:

Bioshock Infinite. It's Comstock all over again. Ugh.

Axiom Verge is in my backlog, but now I have to wonder if the ending has the same gaping plot / logic hole that other game has.

 
Woah....a Dorney Park love fest in the XBL thread? Better than date night!

I grew up in the Montgomeryville area so near Philly unlike all of you Lehigh Valley folks. But Dorney was my digs (and Great Adventure to some extent).

I always thought that place would be an abandoned park by now but hear it's still going strong. Oh the memories, especially of that classic wooden coaster.

Only ever lived in The Franklin and Adams County areas for PA, so square in "Pennsyltucky". Did go up to Dorney once back in 7th grade though. Don't remember much about it (my memory is horrible from my school years), but I do remember their drop tower being the first of it's kind I was brave enough to ride.

 
I'm going to throw out this warning to anyone thinking about purchasing Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off The Record.

Dead Rising 2 had an annoying glitch where if you played for several hours straight(3 or 4 I think) the game's performance would get worse and you would have a terrible stuttering problem. If you played the Neo Geo ports on xbox one, it's very similar to the stuttering that occurs when you unlock an achievement.....except it never stops. The only solution I found was to reset my xbox one everytime this happened.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record....Dear God
The past week has been a nightmare even getting this game started. The damned thing refuses to even load up most of the time and when it does load up, the game is stuck in an infinite loop at the screen where you load your saved game. I've tried several work arounds, including deleting the local copy of my save file, deleting/reinstalling the game to moving it to my internal HDD from my external HDD and it only works sometimes, and even then the problem returns when I reboot the game. At the time I'm writing this, I've spent 30 minutes trying to load this damn thing and I've given up. I only have the Sandbox achievements left for this game so I think I'm gonna call it quits.

As for Dead Rising 1, I didn't have any issue with the xbox one version, aside from the survivor AI being useless.

I absolutely love Dead Rising 2, and while these ports aren't terrible, they eventually developed issues that forced me to stop playing them.

The plot isn't nearly as elaborate in AV so it doesn't feel that way, although I really liked the plot of the other game in question / it didn't bother me. I think my issue is that the main character in AV doesn't have much personality (nor do the other characters, really), so even as he becomes more powerful as the genre requires, I never felt all that attached to him. Tom Happ made a great game but its gameplay first and the story feels like an afterthought.

 
I can't believe they still haven't made it so you can use your account balance to buy 360 games on the Xbone OR a browser. I was going to buy Bloodrayne finally but I have to wait until I dig out the 360 now. What a pain in the ass.

Apparently, rather than porting a Xbox One version of Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds, the developers actually made the new DLC character of the PS4 version for the backwards compatible version we already have, back in November. I didn't expect that, especially from a Japanese dev, but its pretty cool to see.

More than likely since it's the exact same game as the last console balance patch and if you are skilled enough you can do infinite combos.

I'm torn as well because it's a good price and I have a PS4 compatible stick but even if it goes on sale for the same price tomorrow the netcode on the PS3 (and by extension PS4) version was way worse. Need to build me a custom stick with one of those boards that works on all the systems.

I think I am going to spend $4 on Lost Planet 3.  I loved the original LP. It was one of the first games I bought for my 360 and I paid full price (pre-CAG days).  The multi-player was actually pretty fun.  I know LP 2 was a train wreck but LP 3 was better so I will give that a try.

 
LP2 was honestly my favorite of the franchise, it was like a monster hunterish third person shooter hybrid that had a lot of coop replayability, I hope all three hit bc though

Just looked at the reviews and LP3 was the worst aggregate by far. I thought for some reason it reviewed better than LP2.

 
I got into overwatch and was trying to get the uprising skin for mercy so I wasn't able to cross anything off my backlog in April. Made a huge dent in wildlands though, shouldn't be too much longer to complete the base game.

I also folded and got a switch last week so Zelda is probably going to keep me from completing much in May. Glad there's not much new stuff I'm interested in until the fall.

PA talk, never been to Scranton but been to Philly a lot and stayed near the water gap and went to Allentown once. Really like visiting the state. I've always wanted to go to Centralia.

We don't have too many weird town names like that in Massachusetts, mostly towns with native American origins or ones that no one outside (and probably a lot in) Mass know how to pronounce.

We have Orange, Peru and Sandwich. There's a bunch of spooky places though that aren't towns like misery island and the gates of hell.
 
Strider, any opinion on the Neo Geo Samurai Showdown that just released? I hope it doesn't suffer the same problems as the other Neo Geo releases...
