I'm getting Life is Strange day one BUT just so people know, this new game is a 3 episode prequel by different developers (DONTNOD is working on a life is strange sequel) and Ashly Burch isn't voicing Chloe again, instead she joined the writing team to help write her lines.

I just checked and it is downloading Rare Replay. Even then I had it installed from disc. One was on my Internal HD and the other external. so I deleted the disc based one. Not sure if I already have the warthog or if this is a special one for today. Don't see that anywhere yet. The other games are queued behind RR. Haven't gotten an email or message from MS yet.

 
So I wonder when we will actually get them? Like are they gonna have to do anything like the 360 fixing them or is the framework easier and they could make all OG titles BC (disc) and only put a few on the marketplace.
 
For Rare Replay, do we have to install all versions of the games to play them?  When I look at Ready to Install, for example, there are two versions of Perfect Dark (regular one, and one with Rare Replay at the top of the picture) and two versions of Perfect Dark Zero.  Do I have to install all of them, or can I just install one of each?

An unknown, (just doesn't say anything but I'm guessing it's the Minecraft skin), Hawken Starter Pack (maybe I'll actually try this game now lol), No Time To Explain & Kinsano Leader HW2 showed up in my Queue.

 
Figures the only Xbox hueg game I own digitally is Psychonauts (which is missing from your list, blink).

Anyway, the conference was alright. I feel like with all the multiplats and scarce actual announcements (only annoucements I cared about being Forza 7 (a given), Metro was a nice surprise, Ori and the Titus mascot game, good to see Cuphead and Crackdown finally have release dates, Scorpio release date and price info is also good) that MS is just focusing on the rest of the year and trying to win over the casual crowd that just cares about the best version of the games everyone plays. I think the only games in 2018 from them are Sea of Thieves in Q1, and the Titus mascot and Ori games. Surely they've got more than that cooking for an entire year.

I respect MS just going balls to the walls with showing games, decent variety too (though some of them just looked like shit to me), little amount of cringe (aside from the eSports announcer guy, that was dumb) but it seemed very obvious they were just covering their large lack of exclusives. Of the games that matter, Cuphead looks great, Sea of Thieves looks alright (the section with them showing it off went way too long) and Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2 did not look good at all.

Mixpot is a decent giveaway, I had Rare Replay on disc but owning digitally for free is nice and it's a great value for those who don't own it yet. I would have preferred they not bothered with the other stuff and just given us Ori and State of Decay remastered. 3 solid Xbone first-party games would have been great.

Original Xbox BC announcement was the best part and while it's awesome and I was hyped as fuck (Crimson Skies was an amazing choice for a first game), it's also kind of sad that we really didn't get much else in terms of games to be hyped about. Hope they do better next year.

Re: Price, I expected it to be $600 so I'm pleasantly surprised, but it's not an instabuy like $400 would be.

Anyone who expected it to be $400 is an idiot though, there's way too much high tech in that machine for it to be the price of a Pro. I think they're taking a loss at $500, to be honest.

I remember enjoying Black at the time, but at this point isn't it just another modern shooter power fantasy?


To the person comparing Titanfall to Hawken, that's really not a fair comparison at all. You only spend 1/3 of your time in your mech, there's AI cannon fodder, and while on the ground you get all the fancy wallrunning action in Titanfall. Hawken is a f2p mechwarrior arena. It's ok, and I kind of enjoy the gameplay but the upgrade system confuses the hell out of me. I've only played a handful of matches, but like I said it seemed like a fun enough game. My real point is that the gameplay is vastly different in the two games.


Does anyone else forsee consumers being confused that there'll be a cheaper S model and a much more expensive, but also smaller, X model? "Little Jimmy wanted that small xbox... that must be this S that's cheap. And look, it comes with a bunch of (old/redundant) games! He'll be so happy!" *facepalm*

Microsoft doesn't care. Unlike the Wii vs. Wii U thing, the Xbone, Xbone S and Xbone X all have access to the same games, and all MS really cares about is software sales since that's where the bulk of the money is. As long as little Jimmy is buying one of their machines, they're happy.

Only OG game i care about is RB6 3 but even then it would have to have the servers back up and a lot of people playing for me to care.

I'd rather have more remastered OG Xbox games instead.
 
For people that plan on getting the Xbox One X, remember that Xbox credit now works on the MS Store site for anything including consoles and physical games. We're CAG's so most of us are buying credit for 10-15% off so you can basically knock $50-$75 off your price by going that route.

Solid point. This also means you can take your GameStop trade credit and buy the console from MS directly (just convert your trade credit into MS GCs).

Excited for Cuphead, Metro and SOD. Just checked my attic and found my CD Binder with my Xbox games. Your going to laugh but think im ready to fire up Bicycle Card Game Collection again. Also seems all the mix pot items have downloaded. Sweet :)
