It gives some people who refuse to part with their 360 an incentive to upgrade. Not all, but some.
 
The voice acting in that Conan trailer was absolutely horrendous. Maybe it's supposed to have a B-movie vibe?

Developers go through a lot of trouble to make games seem totally realistic these days, but there's apparently some aspects of video games that will never stop reminding you it's a video game. I even laughed out loud at some of the villain dialogue in some RE7 gameplay footage I saw. Granted, it's an effing CONAN game I was originally referring to, but whatever.

Quality voice acting is expensive, good writers are expensive, dev budgets have already ballooned out of control so it's another big bite to take.

 
I dunno if it's been mentioned in between talk of football, poop, and Nintendo Switch, but you can get 1 month of XBL Gold for $2 - are they going to make that the normal promotional price now instead of $1? - or 12 months for $39.99 directly from the marketplace or Xbox.com. That's a pretty good price from Microsoft directly. I have silver, so I dunno if active Gold members can get in on it.

Hey thanks. My gold ran out yesterday and all the prices right now seem to stink. So this buys me a little time til I find a better price. Anyone who's got an extra year code sitting around for $35 let me know.

Also, cancelled my For Honor pre-order after playing the beta. It wasn't awful, I just don't see myself enjoying, or playing it enough to justify the purchase

Might have to try this out. Might be because on Xbox 360 you only can own the license, not rent it so if you buy anything including a free Xbox One game through it, it may treat it differently (like an actual purchase) than through the Xbox One.

Really? Weird. Xbox Live has targeted offers now? I thought they were all universal. I was actually going to wait a couple of days to use it so I could make sure to get the next month's GwG, but now you've kind of lit a fire under my ass in case the offer ends soon.

Did you try xbox.com, click on your username > "Subscriptions" > under Xbox Live, "Renew"?

For Honor is going to bomb real bad.  So repetitive.  And there's an easy way to win if you're playing 4v4 -- just team up with someone and then go after one guy.  In a 2v1 situation, the solo guy is going to lose every time.  There's no way he can block two directions.  Played 3 games and got bored already.

The various bundles for NHL 17 and FIFA 17 as well as UFC 2 Deluxe have 7 days remaining on their EA Access discounts, so I guess we'll see some sort of EA sale Super Bowl Big Game weekend.  Madden doesn't appear to be counting down, though maybe it will update later.  The Watch Dogs 2 discounts are counting down for another 13 days rather than ending next week.  No other out of the ordinary countdowns, just the weekly deals and GwG.

 
Hoping Shadows of the Damned gets added to the vault. Kept procrastinating on picking that game up so ready to give that a shot. Unless EA Access is dead like BC is. :p

Rocket Knight is meh. Game is fundamentally decent, but the game has no soul. Anyone who played the original on Genesis will know what I mean by that.

 
I installed UFC 2 from Access...but I really don't know much about MMA besides it's a bunch of meatheads grunting, hugging, and sweating all over each other til one of them passes out from blood loss. Any UFC aficionados know who I should roll with if I start that game up?

I feel the same way about Steep. They both seem like $30 games Ubisoft made into $60 games. They have good ideas but it could be better. Will be interesting to see where they go, their small teams did great with valiant hearts, grow home and child of light. Their major releases seem to be hit or miss though.

SotD is really cheap and worth your time. It's basically Evil Dead meets violent anime. a few parts I'm not crazy about but overall it's a great game.

Rocket Knight was fun enough but it's currently $15 on xbl. That's at least $5 too much but honestly I don't think I would play it again unless it was on sale for 5 or less.

I hope you're right. I'm watching a walkthru of the first game since playing through it felt more like a chore. I got to this part where he's driving a vehicle and it looks like a disaster.

The gameplay doesn't seem to change but I hope with all the praise for Mass Effect 2, I can give it a fair chance and be part of the ME bandwagon.

Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 are two very different games, so you have to keep that in mind.

I enjoyed the first 2 movies, but after that they got kinda...meh.
