Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Well, I suppose that using VPN and proxys is not allowed, but there are other countries where you can buy without much problem. As I am from Spain the prices are normally higher.

In Spain the only games which are cheaper than other countries are ACA NEO GEO ones. in my case I have bought games from USA, Canadá, Russia or Hong Kong, I have talked with Xbox Support many times and there hasn't been a problem even they know I have bought games from other stores. Anyway, yes, as you said is against Live's ToS.
I thought you could buy xbone content from any region you want if you buy credit for that currency from the Microsoft store site. My impression was that the sketchy part is if you're providing a fake billing address to avoid taxes, buy from foreign markets, etc. If you're just changing the language/region setting on the website, that's all fair game.

Ex. X360 GWG are region specific and you have to provide alternate billing info, while xbone GWG are region free and you just click on the squiggles where the buy and confirm buttons should be.

Some weeks ago there was no problem to buy Gift Cards from the Microsoft Store, but no it's not, I don't really know why they took that decision. You still can buy in webs like G2A Gift Cards codes and redeem them.

I think that the problem comes from countries where games are expensive. I have bought games I wouldn't have bought if there hadn't been a way to buy them cheaper. I have assumed that I could be banned, and like me, hundred of players for the same reason.

It's not really a DLC, more like an expansion. It's a redone what-if story with Frank as the main character, with a new area and totally different ending. The big addition is a whole new free-play mode with a ton of challenges, where you can just mess around forever with no requirements. It's worth $10, it just kind of sucked on launch that a DLC upgrade option wasn't offered.
Oh yes I know OTR is a "what-if" story with Frank instead of Chuck. I was referring to the Gamebreaker DLC that is not included. Though I gotta admit I didn't know what it was until I read some of the "complaints" in the Xbox Store. Googled it and is more like an in-game mod, so I guess I'm not really missing out. I just might get the game after all.

So, no difference in movement? Considering that parkour, double-jumps, wall-running, etc. play a factor in about every level? That's like saying the only difference between CoD multiplayer and Battlefield is planes. You obviously can like what you want, but to throw out such an exaggeration and then imply that people who aren't crazy about CoD campaigns just don't like them because they're popular is silly.

And I only recall one or two people saying they weren't crazy about the CoD campaigns. I liked the ones I've played and I think others did, too. The yearly releases made me lose interest, honestly. I enjoyed the original Modern Warfare, Black Ops, MW2 campaigns a lot and the only one that I tried and lost interest in was World at War.

I mean, we can argue all day about what's better and that's just a matter of opinion, but to say you don't see an objective difference in the games beyond the presence of titans is kinda mind-blowing.
All of this. TF2 is an agile shooter which emphasizes movement. CoD SP is about being methodical and taking cover. Both are perfectly good game design but CoD is very standardized these days. TF2 by comparison manages to be innovative and original in a genre that is so overloaded with games that you think it's all been done, until a game like TF2 comes along.

Dead Island: I've only played the first one on 360 and am contemplating getting it on X1. It was a fun game with decent coop. If you've played Dying Light, it's similar but without parkour, and not as fun in my opinion. If you haven't played Dying Light I'd recommend putting the money towards that. $16 for two full retail games and one small game seems like a good deal to me though if you have played DL.

Overcooked: Haven't played it but picked it up last sale, heard it's a fun couch coop game.

CoD 3: Decent WWII campaign, it's obviously dated graphically. Been a while since I've played the campaign. If you're an achievement hunter, be prepared for a lot of grinding. There are achievements for multiplayer and 99% of players are boosters and it will take at least 15 hours of someone throwing a flag at you to earn points, if you're lucky. Even before BC I don't think I've seen any CoD drop below $9.99.
Thanks so much for the advice. I really appreciate it.

Me either. This one is more Borderlands in style though. Has 4 player co-op and loot drops, sounds like quite the departure compared to the first game.

Beat the main story-lines on Saints Row 2 tonight. Real fun game. While there were some design choices that definitely show it is an 8 year old game I still only felt overly frustrated a few times. Lots of missions but they were sometimes on the super short side. With all that though the writing and cut-scenes were just awesome. Some of the street dialogue had me laughing hard. One of my favorites was walking by this couple on a park bench and the woman says "I think it may be time for a visit to Dr. Coat Hanger". I nearly spit my drink out. Actually looking forward to trying SR3 and 4 after a cleanser game in between.
Glad you enjoyed it. The X1 version of SR4 is all over the place in terms of performance. Hope Scorpio can save it. The 360 one is also BC. Not sure why they still haven't made Saints Row 1-3 BC yet.

I wonder if Rey will have to carry Luke on her back during her training like Luke had to with Yoda.

That teaser is cut very well, but TFA left me feeling a bit cold after that initial viewing. Gonna take more than explosions and foreboding musical numbers to get me hype this time.
I only watched Episode 7 like a week ago and it was good overall but felt sort of... hollow? Like most of it was a whole lot of pretty nothing kind of.

The problem they faced with Ep7 was that they had to set the groundwork all over again. Now that they got all that exposition out of the way, now we're gonna get the meat of the sandwich... I'm hungry.

Finished up Bulletstorm: Full Clip edition yesterday(got it thru gamefly, ain't paying full price for that). This game is still just as much fun as it was six years ago! Took me 8-9 hrs for the campaign on normal and played around in echo mode for about an hour. So all solo stuff, no multiplayer. Got half the achievements since I just wanted to chill with the game. Graphics give it a crisp clean look, but it could have used a bit more polish. Surprisingly, the frame rate dropped to a crawl about 15-20 times during my play through. Wasn't even intensive set pieces, where lotsa enemies were on screen or stuff was happening. Game even froze twice. Coulda used some extra time for testing bugs instead of being rushed out I guess.

Overall, I had a blast romping around slinging and shooting bad guys while racking up combos and cracking up at the 'colorful banter' throughout the game. 8/10, woulda bought if sub $20 even though I played & own the game before on 360. Definite purchase if you never played the original before. End spoiler below
forgot how much the ending set up a sequel. Too bad we'll prolly never get one

Is it possible to sell my gamer tag anywhere. I'm out. Microsoft has the worst customer service ever. I basically wasted money on this Xbox... I'm selling it and giving up on the company as a whole.

I purchased a gift card last night to purchase some games from this sale. I had to update my cell phone information and for some reason I can't use the website for 30 days (for my protection) and I don't have the option on my account to use my Microsoft account balance.

Should I not be furious? My Xbox was stolen from me back in November... I upgrade and take the plunge for the Xbox one and literally Microsoft can do nothing for me.

I gave them my freaking CC info over the phone and it still wasn't enough information to verify that it was me. I gave them more than enough info to steal my identity and they still can't help.

Furthermore... since when are you not able to use your Account Balance on your console?! Tying up a punk ass 25 dollars I spent for 30 days that I intended to use on an advertised sale this week... I can't make this stuff up.

Sorry for your loss of losing an xbox(assume 360 since you didn't specifically say what it was) last year.....but it seems there's a lot more going on. More pieces to the puzzle would help as maybe the community here could help vs you just posting MS service is crap and you're gone forever. Hence the response you got. Heck, we were just discussing how great MS customer service is in general just last week. Did you contact MS right away when the original system got snatched? You cancel any of your CC info attached to the console? Etc

Adding to the SW talk..... Loved loved LOVED Rogue One, Ep VII was okay. Laying the groundwork as stated before. The director came thru with RO so I have faith in ep VIII

I don't really care what happened, I was just saying bye. MS customer service has always been incredible to me, sucks you've had trouble, but nobody is gonna bat an eye over you boycotting X1.

And everyone who frequents here knows you can't use you're credit to buy 360 games via the website or X1 marketplace. It has been that was since the switch from MS points I believe.

I mean the story includes a stolen Xbox 360, a gamertag with an email that no longer exists...it's not that surprising that the rep would be cautious.

YMMV, but a rep gave me an address to use for the South African store :). I wouldn't hesitate to use that store again once the Battlefield 1 season pass drops in price.

I literally verified everything on the account. Even the phone number and email account tied to it... I just don't have possession of said number or email now... NOBODY DOES. I verified an old CC number that's been expired for 3 years even.

I understand the need for security but my god this is atrocious. There is also no fine print on this card I have stating that I can only use it for certain merchandise.

Was it a Gmail.com or yahoo.com address? Or one for a defunct domain? If domain is available maybe find some place that will let you do a free month of domain based email. Set it up recover your account and then change the email to something you can access. Or wait out the 30 days. I am pretty sure my Live account also has my cell phone number setup as a verification option. I know it does have the two factor app on it.

My nephew lost access to his original PSN account. He put in bogus birthday but a legit email. Problem was he couldn't remember the email address password and put all bogus info in there. Really sucks but if you don't update your information or remember what you put in for info it is hard for a company to verify you are who you are. Knowing someones email address isn't enough. I have a few friends who I can probably guess what email address is linked to their Live or PSN account.

I agree it is beyond stupid we can't use XBox Credit to buy 360 games via the webpage or XBox One console. I REALLY have to want a 360 game to use a credit card. I usually just pass on the game though.

My huge problem is the 30 day policy. Since I had to update my cell phone number I'm now locked out and can't purchase the one game I actually wanted from the sale. It'll be back to the normal price when I can. Them not even being able to purchase the game for me over the phone while acknowledging that it's me while I have the receipt from the purchase of the card and the card itself after all of this trouble is ridiculous.

Google claims the account doesn't exist. I tried to login to the account and it tells me it doesn't exist... I go to create an account with the name so Microsoft can just send the email verification again... "this name is already in use"... after being on hold with a google rep for over an hour I was told that they had no answers at all.

I'm learning a hard fucking lesson on why digital verification can eat a dick basically.

I've been out all week suffering from a crappy disease called Hand Foot Mouth disease, and it sucked big time.  You can't really use your hands (no Xbox!) or feet (no walking) plus your throat feels like your trying to down a razor blade every time you swallow so I was on a 3 day liquid/milkshake diet.  I'm just now diving into the Spring Sale to see what I'm interested in.  What were some of the unanimous favorites around the thread?

that's a good point about the movement being different, but it didn't feel unique to me when other shooters already did it

i like Titanfall 2 more than Black Ops 3, but not more than Infinite Warfare

Do NOT get on any CAG multiplayer games! I don't want your crap transmitted over XBL!

Seriously though. That sucks. Hope you're feeling better.

I can feel Juice el savior pain shit i lost my login credentials to my hungarian account which had a couple of x360 titles and some are now BC like far cry 3 and L4D2.

I'm just done with console gaming as a whole now. I'm 30... married... great job but it's investing in the time department. I get by with my 3DS. I think I'm just gonna upgrade to the N3DSXL finally and make a car payment with my leftover cash.

I'd love to just give the account away but I'm not that stupid lol.

But you are still represented in the other countries, right? Ok.

:D

My niece had it couple of years ago and she will little then - suffered a lot, I can sympathize with your situation. Genuinely hope you didnt transmit to anyone else :)

So you are ditching the Xbox because you are upset you have to wait a month to purchase things on your account?

My gamer tag was made on a hotmail account I made in 8th grade (almost 20 years ago). Haven't actually used it for email since then, but it wasn't deactivated

It's Friday night which means my Xbox will be playing one thing:

My dad has always talked about hoof and mouth but that's what cows get! Wow, that sucks man.

There are a bunch of indies in this sale a bunch have picked up.

They're also discounting custom controllers. Mine's showing up next week! Will post a picture when it arrives.

Forza Horizon 3 added 3 weekend challenges, now through Sunday night. Looks like there's 17 more in the upcoming weeks.

There's a hefty 1.4 GB update too.

It's not Friday, it's next Sunday, A.D.!

With 4 of them next Tuesday. Mid-week challenges suck. At least there isn't a Horizon Edition car available directly through them.

I downloaded an update for it the other night. Don't remember how big it was, if it might be the same one. Going to be trying for some of those Gears Chocolate skins, though. They appear to have fuck ed up, giving out the Easter emblem today instead of the Chocolate Lancer. Threw down for the RAAM 3 Mega pack, got Kantus in one pack, RAAM in the 2nd and Savage Kantus in the 3rd. Lucked out there.

Hockey playoffs and MLB games are killing my game playing... I'll get back to it eventually, but the games have been so good that I don't miss games much...
March Madness in to NHL and NBA playoffs is quite bittersweet. It's great having what feels like all day meaningful games for weeks on end but yeah it kills your ability to game or watch other stuff.

Yeah, I have an ancient hotmail account too...I checked it for the first time in years and still had access, but they deleted all my emails lol.

Just finished today's Forzathon. Bought the car pack and Porsche pack too. Good thing I really don't like racing games.
