Proud new owner of an XB1 S!

Just have to be careful with the presentation to the wife....(hooking it up after she goes to sleep).
 
So I am about to go way OT but I am hoping one or two of you know anything about cars (I don't really) and can give some advice.  Got a flat this morning and the short of it was I had to replace the tire.  Took it to Firestone (my dealer was too far) and they told me I only had to replace the one tire.  I am not trying to spend more money but I always thought you needed to pair tires especially since this new tire is not even a match to the old ones. Anyway he says it will be fine since I still have a good bit of tread left on the old tires and it is a front wheel drive only car.  Anyway it is a 2014 KIA Forte with 32,500 miles (all on the current tires).  The new tire seems to have significantly more tread left and I am not looking to mess with my axles or drive train by spinning the wheels unevenly.  Hope someone has a thought.

If you're front tires are the same size you're good to go. Umm. why did you have to replace a tire over a flat? Was it blown out from the side?

The front are the same. There was a nail right at the sidewall and he said there was significant run flat damage. I did not think I ran on it flat for long but I also think this was the second time this tire went flat.

I was looking to get it patched initially.

Just jumped on one too. Amazon gave me $150 trade in for my fatty X1 1TB. Used it on the X1S Ghost Recon 500GB bundle.

I've always been told you should replace at least 2 at a time. What happens when you rotate your tires and the new one is on the front?

I had an "extra case" method for guitars. I always kept an extra case around. She would see a new guitar, but all the cases look the same. When I'd find a great deal... Wham!! Spare case gets filled and new empty case shows up a week later. She never caught on.

Yeah at this point I assume the new tire stays on the back while you rotate the other 3. I will talk with my dealership and see what to do exactly. The old tires are maybe a year away from needing replacement so when that time comes I will just buy 4 new tires are save the one I just bought to turn into a full size spare since this car does not have one. In fact the KIA cars don't come with ANY spare which is crazy. I had to buy a donut afterwards.

Nope. You won't rotate 3. With radials, you only move front to back or back to front - never side to side. It's not going to change circumference to the point where it causes issues. Passenger car tires are hard and have not much tread, anyway. If the other tire was close to the end of it's life, you could replace it, but if it has miles left, use them. You're good.

If you have a full size spare, you can rotate that tire you bought today to the spare when you replace the next 3 tires.

I'm here at e3, and so far I got to play John Wick and Bravo Team, because there were no lines.

Every demo they have here runs 10-20 mins, which is great I guess if you're playing it, but it makes lines unbearable when you can count the heads before you and see all the hours you have to wait.
 
I finally got my Rare Replay, No Time to Explain, and The Final Station.  I had pretty much figured I was not getting anything so this makes me happy.

 
Urgh. One thing I forgot about was the S needing that damn adapter for Kinect. We actually do use the Kinect for Skype calls, in particular. Guess they no longer do the freebies for upgrading.

So will have to get one of those at some point.

Does the USB on the Kinect adapter have a pass through? Reason I ask is that I have two external hard drives. And be a bit ugly to use the front port for one of them.
 
I showed my kids the Nintendo press conference, my 5 year old says he wants Arms and Splatoon 2. I thought it was interesting that he gravitated to the newer franchises. He has no nostalgia.

Just a little OT: Has anyone ever felt nauseous from wearing earbuds? I got a new pair and I feel like throwing up after wearing them for an hour. I don't know if it's the headphones or something else.

It sounds like a touch of vertigo. My dad has it, and because of that he sits in the other room with his iPhone at full volume, unable to wear headphones.

 
^ Well sure, something that can mess with your inner ear can do that. I only use earbuds when I'm mowing or biking lol. They block some of the noise from the mower but they're not noise cancelling earbuds. Those could make you nauseous. Got big cans, nice round set... of Turtle Beach Elite 800Xs and I use them whenever I can.

I'm starting my Xbox One X savings now, a little bit each month... hopefully that'll cover me when November rolls around.

I don't really understand the whole bringing back the Duke controller hype.  I guess it's some kind of ironic hipster thing?  Who would pay money for a controller that almost nobody liked in the first place?

It's not like you need it to play original Xbox games.  The Controller S, the one that people actually liked, was basically the same as the 360/One controllers except that it had black and white buttons instead of bumpers.

 
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but we actually lost a back compatible game this week. Got a notice that poker smash is no longer available for the Xbox 1. Owners may receive tokens for hexic 2 to make up for it. They posted a faq at http://xbox.com/pksm

Question about the rare replay games...it installed multiple copies of some titles, I can delete these right? Keep the ones with Rare replay on the cover art, and just delete the regular duplicate?

Yes, delete regular duplicates. Also, you don't need to go into RR to launch the game.

 
Holy shit. The FH3 expansion pass includes blizzard mountain AND hot wheels? I thought everyone was mad because both these dlc's were on separate passes?

No, people are/were upset that they bought the Ultimate edition ($100) at the time and still had to pay $35 extra to play the DLC (if they desired to do so)

2 tires is best. 1 will be fine. 4 New quality tires will make your car feel new again. I spend money on good tires and change them 2 or 4 at a time since I have a decent job. As a youth, I would buy used tires if I didn't have the dough.

You will be fine but 2 is better.

Considering trading in an Asus Memo Pad and an iPod along with my 500 gb VCR model towards an S for $199 at GameStop, but based on your impressions so far, is it worth it to upgrade (other than the hype)? I'd still have to pay $25 out of pocket plus tax. The color doesn't bother me since I already have one of the newer white controllers.
