  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

I disagree. Now that Xbox One GWG has moved to the "rental" model just like PS+, there's no reason that trials shouldn't allow you to download the game. Sure, you can grab the game using a 3-day trial but once the 3 days are up you can't play it anymore. This is very different from the 360 where you could still play the game without having Gold.

 
As someone who paid full price for Child of Light, I can tell you it's definitely worth checking out at $10. Beautiful game, and a really fun, simple yet clever combat system.

I put in an hour or so this morning on the X1 version and it's fun. A platformer that borrowed ideas from many others, some more obvious than others (ahem*Metroid*ahem).

I admit that it was hard to put the controller down when I needed to get up and actually get some work done :lol:.

I bought it this morning but haven't had a chance to play it yet. This is the third week in a row I picked up an XBLA game on day one. Last week was Valiant Hearts and the week before was that Blob game. I've been looking forward to Guac for a a while though because of all the good things I've heard about it so I can't wait until I have some time to play it.

The site has lied in the past about games that were coming. I wouldn't get too excited, but I would pay up to $40 for FC3/FCBD combo disc on X1.

EDIT: It say there is one near me. I might check later to see if they have have it at the kiosk. Already played it though, so I won't be able to confirm that it is actually there. One review says you can't play full version of the game with it, only the trial.

damn, the discussion about sleep and unemployment is so invigorating.  I like how we discuss certain games and deals but I adore when folks touch on real-life stuff.  Sleep is huge in my life, it charges my batteries and makes my day light and bright, if I don't get enough sleep I walk like a zombie.  Sleep is overrated - cag said it earlier.  Nope it's not.  Sleep is super important, it's crucial for well-being.  Get as much sleep as you need to function properly.  My motto: early to bed - early to rise.

and Unemployment, shit it sucks, it gets boring.  I wanna do something.  I love being lazy and don't do shit, but having purpose is a great delight for me.  And paychecks!!!, we need to pay bills, reality is tough.  I see unemployment as very nice vacation that pays, that I can take once in 2-3 years, just sit there relax and collect unemployment checks. Life's good  :whistle2:

This. I was actually sleeping like a normal person again and then I missed it by 5 minutes on both sides. Now I'm back to sleeping like the crazy person that I am.

Is anyone able to download Guacamelee from the site for the Xbox One? It let me do it before with Max & Halo but now it's just stuck on the white spinny page.

Downloaded it about an hour ago from the website. Did the same for SA and Max last month.

Don't have an Xbox One, but SA and Max also show up as having being purchased as well.

The first time I tried yesterday, it was "stuck" refreshing (with the spinner stopping) - I refreshed the page a few moments later and it worked. I then downloaded it to my console (from my console).

Finally worked just now. I used the tablet site from an iPad to download it. I don't know if that did anything, but it let me download so I'm happy :razz:

 
Guacamelee is a standard (but well put together) Metroidvania in a lot of ways, but the combat goes a lot deeper than most games or the genre and is extremely fulfilling.  It has some fun platforming challenges as well if you're going for 100%.

It's Metroidvania in a colorful luchador style. I guess that could not appeal to you but then again you're Batman so see above.
