  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

Dammit. After watching a bunch of gameplay vids, I went ahead and bought Skyrim. It looks cool as hell and I seem to like games like that more now that I'm older. Also picked up Bejeweled before it went back up. I mean - $1.04 for a game? Seriously. It would have to be a lump of crap not to be worth it.

Not way too worried about the achievements, just want to beat the game. I'm getting overrun on every screen after about a minute or two. Maybe I'm hitting the part of the game where they expect me to be playing with other people. There's no guides on GameFAQs for it.

 
Oh, farfegnugen! Nobody told me Ridge Racer was HARD! Guess buying that was a mistake. I hate it when games bust your balls from the moment you press start. Hasn't anyone ever heard of a smooth progression of difficulty?

Oh well, guess that'd be another reason to get Dirt 3 while it's cheap. Too bad Microsoft isn't being very cooperative. If I have to see "this transaction cannot be processed" just one more time, I swear...
 
I've passed over Viking for $5 numerous times on clearance shelves but is the game worth $3? Always been curious.

Other than that I'm really only looking at Alan Wake: American Nightmare and Rock Band Blitz. 

 
I bit on Darksiders yesterday, was gonna try it this morning but my xbox must have turned off without finishing the download cuz it's only around 60%
 
Decided to bite on Dirt 3. I have like 3 GB free on my 250 GB hard drive now, and that's after moving a ton of crap off the HDD onto USB sticks. :p

Ha. I know that feeling. I was relieved when I saw the middling reviews for Castlevania 2 floating around since I have so much other stuff in the coming weeks I want to get (Titanfall, South Park, Thief, Dark Souls, Infamous.. man I suck at being a cheap ass).

Yep. When you turn off your Xbox, it will go into a low power mode until the download finishes. Then it turns off completely.

"1.) Go to My Xbox
2.) Next, Choose system settings and then select console settings.
3.) Next you need to select shutdown.
4.) Once done with upto step 3, select Background Downloads and set that to Enable."

I'm surprised people still don't know about this. I'm guessing these are people that never use the cloud as when you set that up it prompts you to turn on background downloads.

 
Debating TWD. Last season I got the first episode free then just waited for the disc to come out. Then I rented it from redbox and beat it in a day. Saved HD space and money lol.

It's not going to happen tomorrow. Maybe the DLC will go on sale later, but considering this is called the "ultimate games sale", there's no DLC.

BTW, where are you seeing the picture that says Assassins Creed is on sale?

Are you picking up Titanfall on 360 or the Xbone? I'm looking for a few people to run with in the game on 360 as the majority of my friends are Playstation owners.

Yeah I have this activated, that's why I was sad to see that my xbox turned off and it didn't do it. It has worked in the past.

I'm so glad I got in on the b2g1 at best buy for dark souls, south park and castlevania. Probably wouldn't have gotten any of them until they dropped in price.
 
A bit surprised at myself for buying the latest football/soccer Pinball FX2 table, but the Juventus themed one (being a fan) just made me bite. It's a great table, some very unique mechanisms and original ideas, also a great design and a lot of things to do. One of the finest Pinball tables yet, for 3 bucks can't really go wrong. Now to hope I won't miss these 3 bucks for the remainder of the sales...

Concentrate on your backlog if you have one. It's how I managed to wait utill the game I want was $10 or less.

It happens to me if the file is too big. In fact, it's happened twice [so far] while downloading Dante's Inferno. One thing I noticed is the Xbox hates when I'm on the internet and it likes to sign off automatically. This is especially common when I try to watch Netflix on PS3/360.

Yet if I sign on to AOL Instant Messenger, it doesn't happen all that much.

XBone, I'm afraid. I'll add you on Xbox for shiggles, though. Having played the Titanfall demo, you're in for a treat when you get your hands on it (assuming everything goes well with the 360 port).

Was that some sort of glitch on bestbuy.com? I think I remember hearing about that a few months ago. I'm GCU so getting these games day one isn't too hard for me to swallow (especially since Titanfall and South Park come with a $10 reward certificate). B2G1 stacked with GCU would have been sweet, though.

Look into your router. Sounds like it can't handle high bandwidth associated with streaming video and big game downloads (AOL instant messenger requires very little bandwidth). This is of course assuming you have cable internet in the first place. You may also want to look into getting a separate modem and wireless router if you have one that is combined right now. A few years back I had one that was combined and for whatever reason my Xbox 360 hated it. Soon as I switched to a stand alone cable modem and a stand alone wireless router it worked like a charm.

Recently upgraded my wireless modem as well to better handle Netflix and gaming. The old one just couldn't anymore.

I keep waiting for that magical $10 price point on Tomb Raider, but every time I see it below $15 I start second guessing myself. I mean I do have a backlog and it will eventually drop that low right? Hmm, decisions...

I seem to recall death not being a big impediment to completing the game. It was a frustrating and unsatisfying experience, but I was able to slog through it. So much better with others - not balanced for a single player, but it's been ages since I touched it, so my memory may be failing me.

Doh, alright. Yeah I've been watching streams of it and I'm pretty hyped. Honestly I'm likely to drop it once the Destiny beta drops though.

Yeah the B2G1 was a glitch working on preorders a few weeks back, intended to only work on already out ps3 and 360 titles. There was another glitch at the same time where this sale overlapped with a 360 platinum hits B2G1 sale and resulted in the plat hits being B1G2.

Death is a big impediment because the game only saves every time you transition to a new area. So needing to kill 50 irradiated zombies to get a canister to drop is a pain in the ass when you get to 20-30, then die and have to start over and over again. Especially when you also lose any XP you've earned.

Really fun singleplayer. I haven't tried online because it is probably dead. The controls will feel bad at first and you'll probably be terrible at the game if you haven't played a TW game in a few years. Play it for about 20 minutes and you'll start feeling more comfortable with the controls. After an hour or so, it'll start feeling more natural again.

Talk to support immediately and DO NOT PLAY IT. Tell them what happened (though you can exaggerate a bit to help your case). At best they'll issue you a credit for the difference, at worst you'll get a full refund and they'll bar you from playing it.

If you're going to pay $15 for it, you're better off getting the disc version of Zuma's Revenge.

Wow. No guides, huh? I'm assuming the forums are as dead as dirt too. Yeah, the game is badly balanced when it comes to SP, but it's do-able. The best I can do is direct you to forums where the game may be talked about (XboxAchievements, GameFaqs, etc.)

The disc version of Bejeweled 3 comes with Bejeweled Blitz. I got mine for $6 from Groupon last year.

Well, Zuma's Revenge comes with (Zuma's Revenge), Bejeweled 3 and Feeding Frenzy 2. I figured that was the better value, to be honest. Blitz is terrible and is on sale for $2.50 often (which is way more than it's worth).
