This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Death is a big impediment because the game only saves every time you transition to a new area. So needing to kill 50 irradiated zombies to get a canister to drop is a pain in the ass when you get to 20-30, then die and have to start over and over again. Especially when you also lose any XP you've earned.
Yeah, I was thinking of Zombie Apocalypse. Too many zombie games with zombie in the title, it's like a 90s tune or something. I only played that one at a friend's house on PS3, so I can't speak to how it is solo, but I remember it being quite hectic.

Nothing for me tomorrow, good thing too, it's getting hard to manage the space on my HDD and credit I have on my account and I only bought two games!
Bleh. I Want State of Decay for less than $7.50 or lesser.
I'm pretty sure this is the second time State of Decay has been on sale since it's launch and both times it's been $10. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

State of Decay is an excellent choice at $10, it was my and many others honorable mentions with Game of the Year. The game launched in such a buggy mess unfortunately. Not having any multiplayer felt like a negative, until I played it and it became a perk. Not playing State of Decay solo would have been a whole different atmosphere. The DLC for that game also takes away the story, gives you survival waves gameplay and is highly recommended.

Might check out Cave at that price.

Yup it was $10 (50% off) during the holiday sales in December.

Already have that, The Cave and Sonic. Haven't played any of them. What the frak is wrong with me.

Condemned is awesome. Good price, but if you're low on hd space I'd go with physical. Funny story: When it first came out I played all the way to the end at a friend's house, but quit before I completed it. My friend kept pushing me to finish it off for 2 days straight. I ended up taking some lsd the next weekend and figured I'd play the rest. Oh dear god. That boss fight. The things I did to him. That really messed me up. Don't recommend doing that. Lol

Check out the trial first. I thought it was a good price last time and ALMOST bought it until I played the trial. The humour is quirky and it's there but the actual platforming is floaty and can lead to frustrating moments trying to solve simple puzzles.

And fighters are better on PlayStation? Since when?
Since any of them came out on Xbox. Please don't try and defend the 360 controller in terms of how "accurate" it is for input on fighting games.... :joystick:

that's unfortunate about not being able to find Condemned or Viking at a GS. I swear at any of the 20+ in the Pittsburgh area, they are legion in the bargain bin

For those commenting on Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD... is there a time limit for each round?

I downloaded the demo for nostalgia and noticed that you only have 2 minutes to complete the objectives... and the demo cuts you off after around 90 second each time.  How cheap is that?

Eh, the PS3 dpad is better, but the transforming 360 one is okay.

I play with a stick anyways, so I don't care. It's why EVO is switching to 360 this year. Everyone just uses sticks, and the "pros" say the 360 versions respond better.
I don't think what Evo is doing really matters to those that play fighting games with a controller.

For me, MK is best on Vita with the second tower and all of the DLC included.

Yeah, it follows the original THPS formula of 2 minute runs in career mode. You can keep playing it over and over to get objectives, though, as they don't have to all be completed at once. Free skate gives you unlimited time to explore, though.

I think I'll be grabbing MK tonight. I've always wanted to play it and $5 is a steal. The Cave looks fun as well but I think I'll wait for it to go on sale for my Nexus 7.

Is Tony Hawks HD worth it? I had many sleepless drunk nights playing the first game with my friends back in 2000.
I just bought it and I don't think it's worth it. I honestly would rather boot up the PS2 and play THUG or THPS4. The game is so choppy and clunky. The moves don't respond the way they used to in the original games. My combos also keep getting ended for no reason while I'm mid-grind and will start up a new one randomly. This sucks for people who like to keep the manual grind combo after the timer has ended. It'll probably be great if they fix these problems but as it is I'm severely disappointed.

I think Revelations gets a bad rap because of series fatigue.  I thought Ezio was at his best from a character perspective in Revelations.

Just nabbed State of Decay from today's batch. I don't see it going for less than 10 in the foreseeable future and I really wanted the game.

You are absolutely right. The game drops combos for no real reason sometimes. And coming down from landing tricks on a pipe is sometimes hit or miss. I went as far as going back and buying myself a copy of THPS3 for Xbox since you can still play it on a North American 360 as long as you drop down to 480p before you fire it up. Absolutely worth it. Still my favorite of the whole series.

I have fallout 3 on disc, the one that has all the DLC included, but haven't played it yet. Can I buy this digital one and use the DLC from the disc version?

Stupid fuck ing Axel and Pixel thinking that it's Trials.  OMG this mini-game is awful!

EDIT: Like clockwork I pass it moments after posting.

I liked the game and I liked the story, especially because Ezio was my favourite AC character. The only problem I had with the game were some of the mechanics, namely the bombs. They felt tacked on and useless in the game.

Off topic, everyone who referred Dante's Inferno, thank you. I've played just over an hour of the game, and although I'm dying a lot because of my stupidity, it's a very cool game. Looking at Wikipedia, the game follows very close to the source material (at least from the bit I've played). I'm really excited to see how this plays through.

I dunno about Mortal Kombat (only played on the 360 for 2 months) but most of Capcom's last gen fighters were significantly better on 360 just because they ran better.

Street Fighter 4 has like 2-3 frames of input lag on ps3 for whatever reason. Super Turbo HDR just plays like shit with it's bugs and glitches (input drops for the love of a god). Marvel 2 & 3 have performance issues on ps3. And this is all offline play on a CRT.

On the flip side, I've been playing King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match lately and the Playstation 2 version is a better port than the XBLA version. It's faster and they actually bothered to translate win quotes and system mechanics text.

UMvC3 was terrible on ps3. By far the worst

Ridge Racer Unbounded friggin' blows. It looks great! It sounds great! But it's damn near impossible. Doesn't anyone make games with multiple difficulty levels anymore? Geez!

Anyway. I'm in for a copy of Mortal Kombat today; will probably skip the rest. I just bought a copy of Sonic Generations a week before for ten bucks; rather unfortunate they're selling it for a few bucks less now. C'est la vie, I guess!

I'd love to grab MK, but then there's all the DLC.. I'll just wait for PS3 to have the full game + DLC go on sale together like they usually do. $5 is nice, but going digital with all the DLC is practically the same price as physical.

I'm just not enough of an MK fan to justify buying DLC. I can get by with the plain vanilla experience in most games. The only times I've purchased DLC is for the truly exceptional stuff, like Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect. And oh yeah, to get the real Iori in KOF XIII, who should have been there *in the first place*. But, uh, I digress.

For the Fallout 3 question, yes it works.

I did this the last time they had a sale on the game.

Having a lot of fun with Motocross Madness, been a fan of Rainbow Studios for a while, yet I can't get into any multiplayer games hmm not having a problem now. It just counts down and then says failed over and over until you hit A. There's tons of challenges, modes to unlock, leaderboards, collectibles to grab, oh boy I think I'm gonna be playing this for a while. Also has Avatar Challenges/Rewards if you're into that little metagame. Good game for $5

Oh I remember this game now, it was being marketed as the same price as a pizza, $10, and way more entertainment lol.

Hah, same here. I got my back in high school during the mid 90s and still use it for my XBL account. I don't use it for much else anymore since it's my first name|middle initial|last [email protected]. Too personal to use it for most things online anymore.
Ha, same here as well. I'm pretty sure I got my hotmail account my freshman year in college which would have been 1994. Dude was like you gotta get an email account so I signed up and since noone else I knew had email accounts (besides people at college and I could just talk to them) the only email I got for the longest time was IGN newsletters. Still use it for my Microsoft/XBL account and I use it for signing up for stuff that may draw spam emails, but it's based off a goofy nickname so I don't use it for much else.

Having fun with the State of Decay demo. Think I'll buy in.

How is Persona 4 Arena?
Eh, I'd say that depends on what you're looking for in a fighter. First off, if you're not otherwise into fighters, P4A is fine - it has a visual novel story mode that is probably pretty good if you're a fan of the series. The fighting engine is kinda newbie friendly, kinda not - I don't mind auto-combos since it lets new players focus on their spacing without having to worry about screwing up execution, but there's a shitload of systems and macros that I have no idea how someone new to fighters could possibly remember (I barely do!).

If you're into fighters and you're wondering if P4A is worth the time, I'd say it is. I have my own problems with the game (god DAMN does it have a lot of cheap silliness), but it's overall a solid fighter. If you're into airdasher-style fighters like Guilty Gear and Blazblue, there's no reason not to give it a try for $10.

Definitely a solid day. State Of Decay is worth 10$, it's what I bought it for during the Countdown sales. I know with all the 3-5$ games it's hard to justify an XBLA for 10, but still, it's great. Tempted by Payday 2 but I don't think any of my friends want to play it. One of 'em owns it but he got bored of it fast (and I feel that'd happen to me too). Sonic Generations for 7.49 is a steal, I'll say it, it may just be the best Sonic game around at this point. So much content, so many different stages, and both game-styles are awesome. Really good game, if you're even slightly interested in Sonic it's a must-buy eventually. Always wanted to buy into Mortal Kombat, 5$ is the right price for me at this point. I don't care that much about DLC, and if I will care I'll just wait for a deal on those too. Lovely price. I remember enjoying the demo for Condemned, 5$ is a great price, but I have a question (next paragraph). The 5$ deal is okay on Fallout 3, but I'll skip: I got bored of Oblivion after 20 or so hours, and Fallout New Vegas sits unopened on my shelf from Christmas 2012. No point getting it at this point. Assassin's Creed Revelations, as it was for Brotherhood, it's 5 Euros for the European bunch here. That's a bloody brilliant price, and I'm a bit envious of it because I bought the whole saga last summer, including Brotherhood and Revelations for 15 each. I've been working on the games slowly and I'm still at Brotherhood, so I could have got Revelations cheaper, but then again that back then was a great deal to get the entire saga.

So, back to Condemned, can someone tell me how it aged? I remember playing the demo for it on PC when it came out. I enjoyed it, reminded me of a smarter version of F.E.A.R. (which was also good). But this was like in 2006 or something, and it's an FPS. How did it age? How's the achievements, save system, controls, etc.?

Since any of them came out on Xbox. Please don't try and defend the 360 controller in terms of how "accurate" it is for input on fighting games.... :joystick:

that's unfortunate about not being able to find Condemned or Viking at a GS. I swear at any of the 20+ in the Pittsburgh area, they are legion in the bargain bin
Im not gonna defend it. Im just going to say im better with a 360 controller than a PS3 controller. I also loved The Dreamcast Controller though...

FWIW. .. i loathe the XBONE d pad

COD meh ghosts tomorrow.

Cant tell how it has aged, but i had a blast with it. Nice atmosphere, teardrops of scare jumps a la dead space, detective vision batman style, tight melee mechanics as dead island. It's fair to say this game has served as inspiration to newer games. Funny thing: its gamerscore is 970G, thats how old it is, away from the norm :p

I'd say it worths that price.

And fighters are better on PlayStation? Since when?
Since the Siaxis controller let you shake the boobs in DOA 5...

...Alright, alright, I'm just kidding. *Holds up Slime Shield*

That joke aside, I'm eying State of Decay myself. And for what it's worth, I got an e-mail from Newegg that linked me to deals including 10% off Micro cards (expires on the 23rd though). I think you can get the code from Techbargains.com 10% isn't much, but still...you can use those extra 2 dollars to play that crane game you never win at your local supermarket!

As for Persona 4 Arena, I'm biased, but offhand, I think I've seen it compared to the Stands system from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure in addition to other series by Arc System Works. You're going to be attacking with your character and your Persona with the different face buttons. If your Persona gets hit too much, it'll be unusable for a while. The story seems to work along the lines of 'if this was the canon winner' with the last few fights and dialogue altered as such. There's branching dialogue paths with joke endings as well.

I have fallout 3 on disc, the one that has all the DLC included, but haven't played it yet. Can I buy this digital one and use the DLC from the disc version?
You definitely can.

Stupid fuck ing Axel and Pixel thinking that it's Trials. OMG this mini-game is awful!

EDIT: Like clockwork I pass it moments after posting.
HAHAHAHA. Never made that connection but you're absolutely right. Don't remind me. It's just so ridiculous because the rest of the game is so easy. By the way, there's more vehicle mini-games after that one. I'm sure you're thrilled.

"Since any of them came out on Xbox. Please don't try and defend the 360 controller in terms of how "accurate" it is for input on fighting games.... :joystick:" I dunno about Mortal Kombat (only played on the 360 for 2 months) but most of Capcom's last gen fighters were significantly better on 360 just because they ran better.
This was what I was trying to say. I prefer the PS3 CONTROLLER, but I use a stick anyways, so I prefer the 360 version. I was noting that there were enough performance differences that EVO has switched over to only 360s, which is semi-significant.

It does? Well, that's.. interesting. Guess they know their audience, haha.

Yeah, BlazBlue and P4A have had strong story modes, though I'd say P4A is better because source material. The story mode is the only reason I find P4A2 acceptable as a full-price sequel in the slightest.

Yeah, I gave a look to the achievements and they don't seem difficult or anything. I remember it being pretty unique at the time, I might just bite, the price is really tempting. I'll wait and see tomorrow's sales, if it's underwhelming I might get it.

Curious, Assassin's Creed Revelations I am unable to find for less than $10 physical copy.  Are a lot people still playing this?  I was hoping to complete my physical disc copy collection of Assassin's Creed.

While not on sale, anyone going to look at Takedown Red Saber?  Seems awesome for an Arcade title

I see. I was looking in the wrong spot. I already own the game, just didn't see it listed in the Ultimate Game sale area. Didn't even check the regular week sale really.

I liked the game and I liked the story, especially because Ezio was my favourite AC character. The only problem I had with the game were some of the mechanics, namely the bombs. They felt tacked on and useless in the game.
I had the opposite experience with the bombs -- I found myself using them for most of the missions (particularly the poison bombs) and was actually a little disappointed to go back to just having smoke bombs in AC3.
