This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Surprised to hear about the Doom controls. Seems fine with me. For the record, I don't do PC gaming.  I always think of the computer as a productivity device not something to use for gaming.

When it comes to multiplayer, I'd rather have it as an option instead of a necessity. Bad internet connections and closed servers bother me more than raunchy players. At least with those gamers, there's an option to get rid of them.  Just like with Final Fight Double Impact, if your internet goes, the game is useless.

That being said, I'm open to online gameplay (especially the Gears of War series) but I'm the type that likes to keep good games and play them in different ways to make them more challenging. Offline campaigns are a must in my book.

Why do people want singleplayer games on GwG?
I would prefer if they gave more multiplayer-based (either cooperative or competitive) games on GwG so that they revive those communities. Games like Bad Company 2, Halo Wars, COD4, CSGO, MOH Warfighter, GRFS.
They already did this with Gears, Halo 3, SSF4AE, Dead Island, Dark Souls, Rainbow 6 Vegas. I pay for Gold mainly because of multiplayer, give me a reason to keep the subscription :/
Yes, lets totally start this debate again.

I wasn't here for that debate, but I 100% agree with rlm2112. I would give multiple organs to have a full lobby in Red Faction: Guerrilla.
I'm on the single player side, bud. I'm the 'idiot' that pays for gold for the GwG games and sales, and not primarily for multiplayer.

That's me as well, except change "not primarily" to never.

The Only multiplayer experience I had any enjoyment with was Mass Effect 3, and that was with ps3 players.

Sorry for the misquote. Not sure where the "idiot" quote came from, though. I definitely never said that nor implied it. I don't think anyone is an idiot for playing single player games, considering the majority of games in my library are single player.
But I do think that multiplayer games benefit more from being free than single player games do.

Don't worry, it wasn't you.

Games with Gold that I've claimed - all but 1.

Games with Gold that I have actually played after getting them on GwG:

Dust (for an hour or so)

Dead Island (4 hours or so)...

My problem is I get hooked on multiplayer games and never get to the great single player games I allways wanted to play. Im letting my gold expire at the end of the month. No more games going into the backlog. Im not disapointed about this. Im going to try to knock out some games. I have about 30 physical games and about 15 digital games to go through. Im going to be happy to clear out some shelf space and hdd space. Ill trade the physicals out after I beat them for others I havent played. I should save some money and clear out some games.

Your an oldshool gamer, you have to know that multiplayer isn't something that just sprung up over night. A better question might be what oldschool classic games DON'T have some form of multiplayer since they were so prevalent. Online play was also available on the SNES and Genesis for a time back in the day. And really, they are all pretty much the same? Your telling me Split Second, Street Fighter IV , Halo 3, and Puzzle Fighter are all pretty much the same in multiplayer?

I got no problem with your dislike of multilayer, just the reasoning behind it.
But the thing is, multiplayer wasn't some do or die thing for people up until the last number of years. Anymore, a lot of people will shit bricks if...oh my...a developer focuses solely on the single player experience. They treat single player as a dirty word. Video games should not be treated like sex, just because you do it with multiple people, does not make it better. Now you see games getting MP when they don't really need it because of people who somehow think it should be some requirement for games now.

So, anyone that picked up TMNT: Out of the Shadows from the Ultimate Game sale - are you enjoying it? I'm thinking I should've picked it up but I watched a video review for it and there was literally a five minute monologue of Mikey going on about pizza.

Only if they have a sit button.
How 'bout a hug button???

a-boy-and-his-blob-hug-screenshot.jpg

So what you're saying is that you're defending some weird arbitrary requirement to quickly wipe your HDD?
From Microsoft Support

Select Format. You receive the following message: This will delete all content on this device. Do you want to continue?
Choose Yes to format the storage device.
If you are asked to enter your console serial number, enter your number, and then select Done. This step helps guard against accidental formatting.
The console serial number is located on the back of the console and behind the oval door on the front of your console.

I thought it was weird too until I read that. I guess it makes sense.

For the 360? I thought that was next week?
the codes go out now for the beta access, in which you can choose what platform you want. Each beta code gives you access to three download codes for your chosen platform.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's like every game needs some expansive multiplayer that eats up resources and probably only gets played for a week before it's a ghost town.

Mass Effect 3 added in one of the worst multiplayer modes ever designed for a videogame and EA made so much money off it via microtransations that's is guaranteed to return in some form or another.

Just checked and you are right. It should at least say Free for Gold. I was going to renew tonight and dl it. I'll call MS and update when I get a chance.
Just like Gato said, GCI is free again but I'll write down my great experience w MS support.

I called them from work and asked why it wasn't free anymore. The rep stated MS uses Greenwich Mean Time (London) which is 8 hours ahead of New York and 11 hours for West Coast and their servers were in the middle of the date switch. We talked and I informed him I know this happens with Gold memberships but it never happened with GwG. He offered me a free month. I asked him if it was the same for X1 and Guacamelee and he said yes. He then offered to refund me a purchase of one of the games. I tried purchasing Guacamelle but kept getting errors. I told him I would have to try from my console at home and asked him to put notes in my account to be refunded. He offered to call me back and he did. I purchased Guacamelle and he refunded me. He then asked if I wanted GCI and I said I thought he was only offering one or the other. He said I should have both so I purchased GCI and he refunded me. All around fantastic service.

I played for a year without spending a dime on the packs, the only reason to buy the packs was to get the gear faster. Still miss the nightly matches and events, again, it was the only mp that I've ever enjoyed.

Odd there were problems with Guacamelee on XB1, since it's supposed to be free for the entire month.

That's quite a statement! In what way did those games impact you?
I'd be venturing deep into spoiler territory to be exact but a lot of the running themes of choice and consequence have stuck with me, and the entire end of Infinite/BurialAtSea is one big reminder that our actions shape not only our future but the future of those around us in ways we may never realize first hand.

Also, I have a Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 1 code. I already have it and it's value is so low I don't care for the hassle of trading.
Get it 'fore the lurkers done grab it!!!

24TCD-GX6Y9-47V96-WYWVM-7DPMZ

So after dragon's teeth finished downloading I will be down to 700MB free :/

Time to get another 32GB flash drive to shuffle things off...

If anyone here is getting the Destiny beta for PS3 and would like to try it on the Xbone also, I'll trade one of my spare Xbone codes for a PS3 code!

Did you play Doom 2 as well as the first? Big difference with all the "secondary" stuff, eg. Map navigation, how you select your guns, etc.

In contrast, my favorite port was the PSX version, dat soundtrack & lighting, it still makes me all a'flutter.
Just look at this 90's badassery:
