For only four months, it doesn't seem like that great a deal when you can usually get a year for around $30-40 or a month for $1 on the dash, IMO.

Some people don't really need a year of Gold and just play during the Summer or Holidays. I still think its a good deal for gifting or for someone who wants to give XBL Gold a try without handing over a credit card to Microsoft for $1.

The only reason I'd get any amount of Gold time right now would be to play enough ME3 multiplayer to increase my Galactic Readiness so my Effective Military Strength is over 4000 (currently at ~3750), and I'm pretty much just waiting for the Extended Cut DLC to get released before I do that, so...
