XBL starter kits at Wal-Mart for 35 dollars.

Noticed this at my local Wal-Mart, so if you might check your local Wa-Mart if you need one of these for what amounts to almost half price.

im not to the whole XBL scene, I used a 48hr gold pass code but can I use this to reactivate it or do I have to make a new account?

Yes , you'll be able to renew your account with one of these kits .

Generally it's the promo-membership offers that are not acceptable to renew an account with .

Did you get the original xbox live kit or is it a new one? What was in your kit?

this is probably highly YMMV, I haven't seen one of these in a wal mart for a while now if you are referring to the original xbox live kit.

This is the 360 XBL kit. It contains a 12 month XBL card, headset, 200 MS points and the Bankshot Billiards game. The 20 dollar coupon is expired.

I bought this same kit at Target. On the original XBOX, you cannot renew a gamertag with the enclosed card. You can on the XBOX 360.
