XBLA - Castle Crashers - 1200pts - Necromatic DLC 160pts 8/26

It's a matter of luck. I was playing for about an hour with friends and it was great. We logged off and tried to join up later but it all went crap
 
This game reminds me of Knights of the Round. I think thats the closest beat um up I have played to this.

Also, whats the highest level you can go to in this game? Can you max out characters in all stats?

I have a question about co-op. RawIsJericho and FrankySox are 2 of the CAGs I play with most, and they both got this right when it came out. I won't be able to get points for it until tomorrow night.

In order to do co-op with them, would they have to restart from the beginning, or how does that work?
 
Funny, much less complaining about the 1200 point tag here than in Braid. ;)

Downloaded the game this morning and bought it after playing for about a minute. Great game so far! Currently at level 6 with the green knight. Haven't gotten a chance to try the online yet, but hopefully I can get some games going this week.

I think you have to start from the beginning. Even if you do, Franky and I can both select new characters to level up and play along with you. Then once we get to the spot that Franky and I are at, we can either switch back to our old characters or keep the new ones.
 
You can select any level open by the guy who is the farthest in the game.

You don't have to start a new game, unless you change characters maybe.

Okay, I just rescued
The 4th Princess. The boss was really annoying, although rather easy. Just tedious going around in circles like that.
the level or area I completed to get up to him...holy crap, that was hard. You have guys there that take away 10-20% of your health PER ATTACK. I was stuck on it for 2 hours, but I finally managed to break through.

Some guy in Japan is first on the Leaderboards at level 62 or something. How are these people doing that? I'm barely at level 31 and I'm getting my butt handed to me 75% of the time. Jeez. I think I'm close to the end, but I'm not entirely sure.
 
wow, i did the one thing i said i wouldn't, and that's blind buy off the demo... i did and now i spent 1200 points on a game i only got for the online... and its not cuz its swamped, its cuz it wasnt coded right, i havent gotten into 1 game yet, it either says game full, connection error, game something or my 360 freezes... they better fix this quick..
 
This game is awesome but I'm having trouble connecting to an online game and on top of that my xbox keeps freezing. Anyone else having these issues?

Winning Arenas while solo will unlock enemy characters as playable.

Another trick is to destroy the hairball after he coughs it out, then the cannon will fire at the Cat. The hairball rocks the boat if you don't destroy it.
 
Hm, in the level where it rains...
When you get to the mountain, there is like a rock blocking perhaps a cave? You can attack it, but I can't seem to get it to break. Maybe you need to co-op break it?

That doesn't work. Tried a couple of bombs too, and that didn't work. I'm guessing you need

Later in the game you get an item that *might* allow you to move it. I don't know though as I don't remember seeing anything that looked movable in the level where it rained. Then again I can't remember which level it rained in either.

Once you're able to buy, or attain, sandwiches in the game, go back to that place and eat one.
 
Been playing this alot, but seems like the online is a little weird. I can never find a match and when I do someone always lags out. I have also had the game freeze on me like 3 times, but beside that it was worth the 1200 points. Any cags interested in some co-op message me.

I buy this for the online and IT DOESNT WORK... it ends up freezing or freezing my 360, i havent made into one game and have been trying for an hour... cant join or create matches and when u finally get to the screen with the other people the game freezes... 2 years they had... 2 YEARS!!!! a shitty game like brain challenge i undertsand the shityy online but even that is better than this especially at 1200 points... what a waste, i'm not one to complain but i swear i feel like e-mailing this fucks and telling them they owe me 1200 ms points... fuckers
 
This might be a stupid question (in fact, I'm fairly certain it is). I was playing solo for a while earlier, just long enough to be leveled up to level 5. If I start a 4-player local game with my wife, brother, and son, do I start back from scratch, or is there a way that my leveled up character from my solo game can be used?

I know level 5 isn't a big deal, but I don't want to put a lot more hours into playing it solo if anything I accumulate and any levels I go up will disappear in multiplayer.

Check your network settings? I had no problem...and others haven't either. Don't blame the game, blame MS for poor testing.

Each character will retain its own individual level. So you can start another character back at level 1 and then continue the level 5 later or even continue on your level 5 with your family.

Sounds like you have router or network issues.

I'm surprised to see all the whining about online. I just played a game with 2 friends for over an hour, one of which is in Helsinki, and it was flawless.
 
I was looking forward to this game like the rest of you guys until I found out it was 1200 points. Do you guys think it is worth it?

I want to know if it will A) Last me awhile and B) Not be too difficult to get through like Alien Hominid. Braid was good, but after beating it in roughly one day, I don't feel as if I got my 1200 points worth.

Worth it, yes. Considering the number of characters and weapons to unlock, 4-player co-op (online AND off)...definitely worth 1200 points.

i'm not blaming the game in the sense that it sucks, but rather the developer for having spent 2 years on a buggy AAA game...

i assure u it is not a network issue, i have a pretty good connection for online gaming, as a person who has purchased a large amount of XBLA games for the online I can tell u this is a common theme in general, but i expect that from lesser titles that are thrown together in months, but 2 YEARS should have been long enough to get the bugs out...

NO... not yet at least, read other boards WAY too many people have issues with this game i.e not being able to get online, freezing and whatnot... i've read about freezing in single player as well, and if u r one of the lucky few to play online then ur happy but if u r one of the many that try to connect, get nonsensical messages and either the game or the 360 freezes then u wil be upset with the 1200 point purchase

Anyone willing to play co-op with me in about an hour? If so, send me a FR. I'll be getting the game and immediately going into online co-op so I'll be learning as we go.
 
I have quick question. Does anyone know what happens when you try to buy a animal orb or weapon a second time at the shop. I know a purchased a few weapons and an animal orb from the stores. They dont remove it from the shop ...so i was wondering if they indicate that u already own these items.

I'm with others that say the game freezes their 360. Mine has done it a number of times. Not a complete lockup, but I get stuck for 10 seconds or so sometimes.

Haven't tried playing with a group online, as I want to go through alone first. The other two modes online seemed to work fine for me.

. I'm not dead, but I'm low on Health, and I have no recovery items left. Damnit to hell.

EDIT: I DIED! THEN...I BEAT HIM!

I tried and failed to play online 5-10 times. it only worked half of one time for about a minute... with Justin McElroy of the joystiq fame nonetheless! Damnit this blows.
 
I am sure these problems will be fixed soon enough. I had a lot of problems as well. It works sometimes, and doesn't others. My Xbox 360 froze like 5 times this morning because of this problem.
