XBLA - Metal Slug 3 - 800pts

Any word on the achievements? Hopefully they aren't too insanely difficult, but it IS Metal Slug.

Anyway, I'm definitely buying this.

I dont know if it was live acting stupid or just good ole lag but playing co-op online felt like the game was off by a second. Which freaking sucks for a game like metal slug. I just hope it's the whole live problem and not the way the game plays. Also when you get an achievement the game lags for a second too. I got the president one and it lagged.

just finished the demo level. For as much as I love metal slug, I can't let this one sit in the arcade and not get bought.
800 points is a little much.
I agree metal slug is fun, but this should be 400

Anyone try it out yet? I'm not sure if I want to purchase it. $10 seems too much for me when I can just go anywhere and play the arcade version and have my fill with $3-4 in quarters.

It's fun, it's hard though.. But of course, that's to be expected.

But for 800 points this game is not for me at least.

$10.00? Pass.

Only Neo-Geo fanatics (and die hard Metal Slug fans) will buy it at that price. $5.00, and I would of been all over it.

Well there's still hope for this game since they added "XBLA Hits" :)

Of course, this may never fall under that catergory. Only time will tell..
lilboo, you are a true CAG, even with the millions of free points you get you still question 800pts purchases
lol. I guess I'm not a true cag... I pay to much for everything... I would't pay 800 points for metal slug 3 though. I have it on xbox. Maybe and I mean a big maybe If I did't have that I might get it lol :D

I heart me some Metal Slug but I played this 3 times over. It's an awesome game but very short. Pass for me.

is there infinite continues? I'm still wondering why is this 800 points when Fatal Fury was only 400, and fighters are infinitely moreso worth being 800 points.

It's a great game but if I bought it, I'd own it three times. I bought it when it first came out in Japan on the PS2 and I have it on Metal Slug Anthology. To top things off, I played through it (clumsily) about a week ago. I'll have to pass for now.

Infinite Continues is optional. Thank God, I dunno why alot of these types of games have it on infinite with no continue limit option.

Anyways, though I love this game to death, it looks like it suffers from the same problem Fatal Fury did with the lag. The higher the ping is in the lobby, the worse it plays. I'm gonna play this mostly with a buddy who is just a town over so it's playable for me (don't remember some of thos slowdown in 2p mode, but whatever) but I'm sure this will be a problem for most others.

I love Metal Slug but you can buy the whole series on the Wii or PS2 for $30 used at GS. I've had the Anthology for awhile but haven't played it very much. Tonight I shall see how far I can make it through the collection. :D

I loved this on the original Xbox cos there were no infinite continues. It forced me to actually learn to play the game.

I never beat it, but I can get deep into the last level. Its just that level never frakkin ends! Its miniboss after miniboss. I was always sooo close.

I always meant to get MS3 for the original xbox but never found it for a price that suited me. for 10 bucks on arcade with online coop it's irresistable now =D

WTF?

None of this is likely to earn as many complaints as the censorship of Metal Slug 3 on XBLA. Gone is the copious amount of red blood, replaced with anonymous white goop. Oddly enough, if you change the language on your 360 to Japanese, the red blood magically appears. Also gone from the original Xbox version are the two bonus modes Fat Island and Storming the Mother Ship.
WTF?

*quote about white blood*
Holy crap, can somebody confirm this? This is bullshit!

I believe the white blood is there because that's how it was originally in the US arcades (and we have no option to change this stuff for whatever reason).

bought it last night and have enjoyed it more than ever. and I'm not usually one for achievements, but a few of them are just plain ridiculous.

Looks like you can get the blood turned on after all...

Fans of the Metal Slug series may have been disappointed to learn that Metal Slug 3 was stripped of its lifeblood for the Xbox Live Arcade release. The be more precise, the game was stripped of the fountains of blood created when characters get shot, stabbed, eviscerated, or otherwise dispatched. The blood was sneakily replaced with sweat for the North American release, as if the crafty people at SNK Playmore thought we wouldn't notice. Thankfully, there is a fix, and it's not even difficult to do. So, how does one turn on the red stuff? Is it ABACABB? No, much simpler actually. All you have to do is switch your console's language settings to Japanese. See, easy, right? The only hard part now is making sure you can find your way back to the language settings again. Good luck with that.

Crumbled into buying this the other day, when an old friend came over. Remember our days of playing metal slug in the arcade caused me to go and buy more points in order to purchase the game. We beat it only to remember how short the game actually is, but it is still a good game.

I played through it with a fellow 2D shooter lover buddy today. My first playthrough and I must say we're in love with it. The difficulty is absolutely insane though.
I can't imagine playing those last stages without infinite continues or $20 in change.

Any one else experiencing xbox live issues with this game? I will start up my console, get signed into xbl, then once I launch this game it signs me out of XBL immediatley. It does this at the same time, each time I launch the game without fail. Once I quit the game and go to dash, XBL signs in very quickly. Has this game failed to auto update??? Whats up with this.

I also cannot figure out which language japanese is on the console language choice. Help please?? All the asian characters look the same.
I want blood!
