i think this will cost 15 bucks
I think your right. It looks great though. Since they redid it so well. I'll proly pick it up if its under $10.

looks pretty good, too good for 800 me thinks

Looks seriously fantastic. Anyone remember how long this game was? I never played all the way through. A no brainer at 400, and probably a buy at 800. It better offer a little more than pretty pictures if they charge 1200...

The game was 60 minutes long.

This is my number 2 favorite game of all time (SMB 3 beats it out for the top spot). I hope the game isn't over 800 pts.
I'd rather see Flashback remade, but this is very impressive. I may pick it up.
That would be fecking sweet.

I would KILL for a Flashback remake. I'll be getting PoP though.

Here's the trailer for those who haven't seen it:

Thank you for linking the Trailer. It looks fantastic. I loved the classic on the PC, so when it made its way onto consoles w/ the overexaggerated action, it didn't quite feel the same. Glad they're bringing it back.

the original PoP hasn't aged too well, but it's still pretty fun. You can still definitely enjoy playing it for 5 or 10 minutes at a time.

A poster at the xbox.com forums is saying that this is coming out next week:

I didn't see an official link in the the thread, so can any CAGs confirm this?
For 400 points I'd buy this no questions asked, for 800 I'd give it some serious thought. Above that... no thanks.
Likewise, but at least I'll having something worth considering on XBLM.

Ubisoft has confirmed to Eurogamer that Prince of Persia Classic will be next Wednesday's Live Arcade download.

"It is on the 13th, on Xbox Live Arcade," a Ubisoft spokesperson told us.

Unfortunately a price is yet to be announced.

Prince of Persia Classic is a remake of the first game in the influential platform-action series. This 1989 gem by Jordan Mechner will be brought up to date by developer Gameloft, and undergo a complete graphical overhaul.

On top of the cosmetic changes, there will be a few new traps, puzzles and enemies thrown in to keep Prince veterans on their toes.

The original Prince of Persia gave players 60 minutes to rescue the Princess from her fate at the hands of the evil Vizier - either marry him, or die.

This is fantastic.

Hopefully it will only be 800 points.

you hope it will only be 800? fuck that, it better be 400 points.

EDIT: actually now that I've seen the video of it I wouldn't mind spending 800 on this game. But I can't see myself going over that price point.
Please let it be 400 pts. I only have 500 pts left :(
If Pac-Man HD is 800, I can't really see this being 400.

Yeah. That is true. I guess I will have to buy a few more cards then (as I also need to get SFII: HD later this year).

I don't recommend it.

I loved that game back in the day, but when I played it on the PS2 as part of the POP:SOT unlockable, it was frustratingly unbearable.

Better to let memories stay in the past...

Completely revamped verison of a game I haven't played in 15 years.

Yeah, 10 dollars doesn't sound that bad.

Seriously - have any of you played this recently? It is terrible. Maybe if they moved it off of the grid it might be a little more enjoyable but as it stands now I'm betting there will be a few thrown controllers in the upcoming weeks.

They dumbed it down a little bit.

While POP Classic is trap-for-trap an exact recreation of the original game, there are some new wrinkles. A couple of enemies have been added to spice things up. These aren't new classes of sword-wielding villains, just one or two more of the regular villains inserted to add a bit more swordplay. A checkpoint has been added to each level, making it just a tad easier to beat one of the harder games around. And as a capper, the Prince has the ability to save himself when falling. If you are near a ledge as you fall, the Prince will grab hold automatically, which can spare you a few times during your run through the castle.

C'mon! I finished this on my Laser 286/12 mHz Turbo back in the day.
If I can do that on a 17 yr. old PC with the arrow keys, the XBLA version doesn't stand a chance. Bring it.

I'm thinking the only time they ever don't announce the price in advance it's because it's higher than it should be, i.e. 800 points.

I only wish this had the original(Macintosh or DOS) graphics as well. That artwork was great.

400 points would be awesome but there is no fuckin way that is going to happen. 800 is not really bad for this, I mean its not just updating the graphics with HD Sprites, it's 3D.

Edit: Oh Crap! I missed LinkenPrime's post! Sorry!
